  • What a treat!!! Gershwin song, Mildred Bailey with the vocal, and great backup! It doesn't get much better than this!

    Thanks for a great post!

  • @dukesgal39 Thank you too!...I agree 100% with you. Grtz, Aad

  • I once had an old Rambler named Mildred ~after Mildred Bailey. She was a fabulous singer and I still love listening to her lovely voice.

  • @myrnaukelele I appreciate your good taste! Grtz, Aad

  • What a wonderful arrangement. Comments on the musical ideas of the melody, but keeps itself behind Mildred's vocal. Mitch Miller was a surprise for me as well. I listened to him in the 50s and 60s. I kind of regret the abandonment of the early 30s swing style, but this is certainly one enjoyable performance. Thanks!

  • @freescorepaul Thank you too Paul! I absolute agree with you...Mildred had here worldclass musicians in her orchestra. This arrangement is a class apart...very stylish and in a way risky, using 'chamber' instrumentalists to accompany "Mrs Swing"! Grtz, Aad

  • This is really beautiful Aads! I love how you are able to spotlight your pictures of Mildred, a very classy presentation. A really stellar video and a lovely arrangement of a classic Fred and Ginger song. Love your signature mirror effect too. So stylish and smart! I grew up watching Mitch Miller on tv and had no idea he went back to the 40s and played for the great Mildred Bailey! great notes too. Thank you for posting. Love it!

  • @2reeler Thank you too Biff for all these superlatives......almost embarrassed! Mitch Miller is a genious mucisian also! Grtz, Aad
