I've liked Cleveland a lot when I've visited. I would consider moving, but as a self-employed person, that would make sense. The city has a terrible reputation for being hard to do business in.
"metro's" family has been involved in a long battle over corruption in this company. it is one reason for political and economic trouble in ohio. it has international connections to other countries and governments and mafia elements. it also has to do with political and economic philosophies and corruption in the U.S.

I support Cleveland because there I am accepted as a human regardless of my skin tone. Maybe everyone will be happy if Cleveland turns into a city like Dallas where all of the Blacks are forced into apartments to serve the white community South of Downtown. I am 21 years old. Of coarse people in this country will never support a place where blacks own property and are raised in huge houses. So - It seems like a mixed bag. Some love it and some hate it. I live in Philly and I guess you could say the same thing here. But I think the Mid Western Cities have had it much tougher economically over the last 50 years. I used to live in Buffalo and although I still love it, it's a shadow of its former self.

The truth hurts! Cleveland USED to be nice during it's 'resurgence' (90's Mike White years). After Y2K, the bottom fell out. Downtown is DEAD. Tower City is DEAD. The Flats are defunct! Sad, but true. Cleveland is just a shell of what it was. Sorry.

Its occupancy is near 97%, but Part of the reason our core cities have struggled is because of the imbalance of subsidy that goes to urban sprawl areas vs. the central cities themselves. Maybe if more people start supporting LOCAL independent businesses rather than the Wal-Mart types, then we'd see a resurgence again. Most people who say things like what you post have no clue about what is actually happening downtown;what is and will come.
I just moved here this summer, and am actually quite smitten with Cleveland. Compared to where I'm from, it's a beautiful city, people are incredibly friendly, and racial tension is WAY less than what I'm used to. The ethnic diversity is amazing, and I can go get some Nunzio's pizza, some good German sausage, some amazing belly-bomb pierogis.... you name it. :-)
I lived on the west side of cleveland for 14 years. The plan was to live there 5 years and then move. Oh well. I enjoyed living there. The Indians, Browns, and Cavs are my teams and will forever be my teams. It is a great city. Go to Chicago and I think you may appreciate Cleveland better. Cleveland is alot cleaner. Believe it or not.

Cleveland is 90% incompetent 'white trailer trash', truth be told. There are a LOT of smug, arrogant pricks in NE Ohio, and the educational level is low compared to other cities. Sure there is Case Western, The Cleve Orchestra, and The Cleve Clinic, but many of those people live in the few upscale or gated communities like Westlake, Gates Mills, Pepper Pike, Beachwood, etc. while the majority of rednecks and simpletons that live here permeate the rest of the area. NE Ohio will always SUCK!

Whats sad is that Cleveland has 16 million visitors and only 82 square miles, while NYC has 41 million visitors but has 469 square miles. If you divide it out Cleveland has more visitors per square mile then NYC. What a joke.
As far as Chicago, it beats Cleveland in retail, although the suburbs offer the same brands. But Cleveland beats Chicago in Arts with its newly renovate art museum being ranked top 10, the second largest performing arts center NYC is first, Top 5 orchestra, Rock hall, etc
I'm not a Cleveland native but have lived in the greater Cleveland area for about 7 years. I grew up in Salt Lake and have lived in several cities as well as abroad. Cleveland has some problems, but I really like the city-TONS of character and diversity. I honestly think half of Cleveland's troubles are related to the poor image problem, both by residents of the area and outsiders.Also, everyone moving to Avon Lake etc whenever a black person moves in (oh god!)on your block is stupid and racist.
We do have our problems, but this city is what America's all about. Real hardworking folk. gotta love it. There's no reason we can't be a Chicago or New York. We have the cultural fabric. Here's to the future!

Amen!! I just moved from Cleveland in March to Raleigh-Durham, NC. I lived in C-town for about 18 years and saw a total decline in that period. While I love the people, the economy in that area has gone to crap, and the weather is just simply horrible. Last time I remember C-town being a good city was in the early 90's.

Cleveland and NE Ohio SUCK! Trust me. I've lived in several states too. The cloudy and cold weather here in NE Ohio SUCKS bigtime. The economy is falling apart, with industry dying quickly. Check cashing places are everywhere now. NE Ohio has the largest foreclosure rate in the whole U.S. Many Midwesterners are smarmy, provincial, standoffish redneck assholes. The ONLY 'saving grace' to NE Ohio is 'The Rock Hall', The Cleve Orchestra, and the good hospitals here. That's it!
Every city has its hardships, but Cleveland is making a comeback (slowly, but surely). Things like this can't happen over night. It's not the worst place in the world and I've been to many big cities all over the country.

I'm a "Cleelan" girl born and raised. The area is definitely full of great diversity and entertainment/cultural options. Now if only we could clean up the streets and get rid of the pollution...it would then be a truly "GREAT" city. I hate going downtown though....it stinks. Literally. My husband works there and his car, clothes, belongings get a film of grit on them during the daytime. It's really gross.

In July, the must sees are the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame, West Side Market, the Great Lakes Brewing Company, a sunset on Lake Erie. If time allows, Cedar Point 90 minutes to the west, the roller coaster capital of the world. Also check out the Cleveland Museum of Art and the neighborhoods of Little Italy and Tremont. For night life go to the Warehouse District on W. 6th St. or the House of Blues, Fat Fish Blue and PickWick & Frolic on E. 4th St. Also, see the Indians play baseball. Have fun!

I was born and raised in Cleveland, but left over 30 years ago to live in Chicago. This sure brought back some memories. You did a good job with the video and I love the music.
I was in Chicago for a couple of days. Wish I could have enjoyed downtown but was in for a convention. Drove past the white sox ballpark. As a matter of fact, Cleveland was in town. Bummer. The guys, mainly my hubby, wanted to eat at some italian restaurant instead of going to the game. Oh well. Didn't feel like hotdogs and beer that night.

They know well that the Indians haven't won the World Series since 1948, no team in Cleveland has won a title since the 50's and 60's, and how all the teams have been so close since then. So - It seems like a mixed bag. Some love it and some hate it. I live in Philly and I guess you could say the same thing here. But I think the Mid Western Cities have had it much tougher economically over the last 50 years. I used to live in Buffalo and although I still love it, it's a shadow of its former self.

Its occupancy is near 97%, but Part of the reason our core cities have struggled is because of the imbalance of subsidy that goes to urban sprawl areas vs. the central cities themselves. Maybe if more people start supporting LOCAL independent businesses rather than the Wal-Mart types, then we'd see a resurgence again. Most people who say things like what you post have no clue about what is actually happening downtown;what is and will come.

I just moved here this summer, and am actually quite smitten with Cleveland. Compared to where I'm from, it's a beautiful city, people are incredibly friendly, and racial tension is WAY less than what I'm used to. The ethnic diversity is amazing, and I can go get some Nunzio's pizza, some good German sausage, some amazing belly-bomb pierogis.... you name it. :-)

I lived on the west side of cleveland for 14 years. The plan was to live there 5 years and then move. Oh well. I enjoyed living there. The Indians, Browns, and Cavs are my teams and will forever be my teams. It is a great city. Go to Chicago and I think you may appreciate Cleveland better. Cleveland is alot cleaner. Cleveland is 90% incompetent 'white trailer trash', truth be told. There are a LOT of smug, arrogant pricks in NE Ohio, and the educational level is low compared to other cities. Sure there is Case Western, The Cleve Orchestra, and The Cleve Clinic, but many of those people live in the few upscale or gated communities like Westlake, Gates Mills, Pepper Pike, Beachwood, etc. while the majority of rednecks and simpletons that live here permeate the rest of the area. Whats sad is that Cleveland has 16 million visitors and only 82 square miles, while NYC has 41 million visitors but has 469 square miles. If you divide it out Cleveland has more visitors per square mile then NYC. What a joke.
As far as Chicago, it beats Cleveland in retail, although the suburbs offer the same brands. But Cleveland beats Chicago in Arts with its newly renovate art museum being ranked top 10, the second largest performing arts center NYC is first, Top 5 orchestra, Rock hall, etc

I'm not a Cleveland native but have lived in the greater Cleveland area for about 7 years. I grew up in Salt Lake and have lived in several cities as well as abroad. Cleveland has some problems, but I really like the city-TONS of character and diversity. I honestly think half of Cleveland's troubles are related to the poor image problem, both by residents of the area and outsiders.Also, everyone moving to Avon Lake etc whenever a black person moves in (oh god!)on your block is stupid and racist.

Amen!! I just moved from Cleveland in March to Raleigh-Durham, NC. I lived in C-town for about 18 years and saw a total decline in that period. While I love the people, the economy in that area has gone to crap, and the weather is just simply horrible. Last time I remember C-town being a good city was in the early 90's.

After that, it all went downhill fast around here. Cleveland is easily one of the WORST large cities around. Even 'Tower City', which used to be full of stores and subarbanites, has fallen victim to mass closings, crime, and 'riff raff' and gang members. Cleveland is a SHITHOLE, period!

I'm a "Cleelan" girl born and raised. The area is definitely full of great diversity and entertainment/cultural options. Now if only we could clean up the streets and get rid of the pollution...it would then be a truly "GREAT" city. I hate going downtown though....it stinks. Literally. My husband works there and his car, clothes, belongings get a film of grit on them during the daytime. It's really gross.

In July, the must sees are the Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame, West Side Market, the Great Lakes Brewing Company, a sunset on Lake Erie. If time allows, Cedar Point 90 minutes to the west, the roller coaster capital of the world. Also check out the Cleveland Museum of Art and the neighborhoods of Little Italy and Tremont. For night life go to the Warehouse District on W. 6th St. or the House of Blues, Fat Fish Blue and PickWick & Frolic on E. 4th St. Also, see the Indians play baseball. Have fun!

I moved to Las Vegas 18 months ago from Cleveland, and I've been miserable since. Loved the video and I can hardly wait to move back. Great Job!

oh god. I hope I get better. I moved 7 months ago to PA and I'm miserable here. I mean it is beautiful and all but miss Cleveland terribly. Miss the familiar. Miss my wonderful neighbor. I miss talking to her in our front/back yards. She was like my second mother. (sniff... sniff...)

haha, you need to travel more if you think cleveland is the best city! This is coming from a clevelander too! I can't wait to move this summer. Great video though, I liked the photography.

I was born and raised in Cleveland, but left over 30 years ago to live in Chicago. This sure brought back some memories. You did a good job with the video and I love the music.

I was in Chicago for a couple of days. Wish I could have enjoyed downtown but was in for a convention. Drove past the white sox ballpark. As a matter of fact, Cleveland was in town. Bummer. The guys, mainly my hubby, wanted to eat at some italian restaurant instead of going to the game. Oh well. Didn't feel like hotdogs and beer that night.

Awesome video! I miss living there. Great picture. I have a pic of the Gund from this past year's championship run with the big golden basketball outside of Gund. (I refuse to call it the Q)

This is the year that a Cleveland team finally wins a championship, I say! The Indians are going to get it done! I feel they are a bit hungrier than everyone else. They know well that the Indians haven't won the World Series since 1948, no team in Cleveland has won a title since the 50's and 60's, and how all the teams have been so close since then. I say that all changes this October! Amen?

Cleveland is a great city to visit. Nice video you got. You should do one with that music but include more Cleveland Indians, Cleveland Cavaliers, Cleveland Browns photos but probably more LeBron photos.

I'm from cleveland heights its a great city I recently moved you never know how great cleveland is until you leave it theres no place like it. Im not saying its the best city in the world I prefer Barcelona but its pretty cool.
