the dumbling is not original. he use plastic rope instead of banana ropes. the dumpling oso not real. nyonya dumbling is white n blue at the each angle..he make one just looks like chinese dumbling which is brown colour..they way he speak also not like baba speak..they not pure peranakan..
U're wrong. Rephrase the last. U can't expect a pure Peranakan to find a another pure to carry on the traditions. As time changes, we do follow up the times to change. As long the male decendent is a pure "blood", it doesn't matter his offspring (preferably a male) is mixed, and carry on the traditions. If the offspring chosen not to, we can't force him nor hantam him, b'coz of the Laws that we abide in. U try to find a pure one in this era, mostly are mixed, but claimed themselves to be pure.
i'm a part of a peranakan family too...so grateful to taste ayam pong teh, kuih chang, kuih tepek, kuih bakul and so on....love the culture!....maybe i'll marry a peranakan nyonya in order to keep the colouful tradition and culture alive....

For peranakans, the head of the sarong is folded upto the mid thigh, apparently shown over here is folded up to the side. This is not correct for a true-blue peranakan. Pls ensure the correctness of yr potrayal before you decide it is truly peranakan. Peranakans are very detailed when come to matters pertaining to appearance.

kebaya is actually a malay costume. it has been worn by millions of malays, javanese etc in the malay archipelago.
Peranakans came to Southeast Asia and practised Malay culture, food etc. & Malay Kebaya is being modified by the Peranakans and they claim it is theirs.
Peranakans speak Malay. Eat "modified" Malay food. Wear "modified" malay costumes and many more.
Well, i see Peranakans as a bunch of Chinese who mixed around with Malays and Malay wannabe.
Actually kebaya's origin is not known. Malays wore baju kurung and Javanese wore a tube. In Java Chinese women who initially wore kebaya. Most batik factories in Java initiated & owned by peranakans. Most peranakans were descendants of early Chinese immigrants who married native women. That's why the culture is a blend between Chinese and Malays.
all peranakan has strong body odour
