@GeddyBre Believe it or not there is NO security whatsoever! I was on a caribbean cruise & we'd stopped at St Maarten's 4 the day. We just got off the ship, hopped in2 a taxi & it was the driver that told us about the beach & took us there. Its a public road & beach, anyone can just turn up there. It was quite surreal, especially with how strict security is since 9/11. Just shows how laid back the Caribbean really is. If ever you get the chance to go you must & witness it for yourself!
