The song let me live the precious moments of my childhood and I got the same feeling again after nearly 30 years passed. I have downloaded all the series of 39 episodes and watched it again with tear in my eyes after the last episode..
In Turkey when we were children, Esteban was starting with this beautiful theme. Perhaps it was the first cartoon that I learned the song by heart. Nearly 30 years passed and I still remember it as the way I learned with the words I heard in those ld good days. People who watched this in england, france, sweden and every other countries might be familiar with other version and they might find it better than this but I am sure its because they heard it in their childhood in that way.
You in Turkey was happy because, I think, only you and Japan had this version and the rest had an European one. I love this song and I love most the part at 0:45 - 1:35. I learn Japanese and I know that " Higashi he Nishi he Minami he Kita he" means " On Earth on West on South on North". Sorry for my English.
im turkish and it aired in turkey with japanese song theme. even i was 8-9 years old i learned all the words to sign then... esteban was best thing can happen to kids then.. still love those memories...

All this wasted animation! Why do intros get so chopped down in other countries?!

@mavikalp77 Wow, you're lucky. I wish this intro would play at least at the beginning of one episode on DVD or something.

@emisfer I understood about a half of this (my French is terrible), but I agree.
