Office Block isn't the easiest site to get decent footage from and last time I had it @ Red Barn we didn't do any filming and I used my TopTech on the last filming outing. We don't get to play every week, not even every 2nd week is guaranteed, so when we do get out spending time filming eats into our playing time, striking the balance isn't easy. If I think about it I will try to get some footage soon, possibly with a guncam as well.
Why only M4s? Because neither Oddy nor myself like AKs of any description. Oddy has a PPSh-41, and I have to admit I kind of like the look of the Dragunov (but stock is too short for me to be comfortable, I'm a bit fussy that way), but that's about the extent of our enthusiasm for AKs & their ilk. Sorry.
That last reply probably seems a bit cold. OK, we don't like AKs, but the fact of the matter is that nobody we know actively skirmishes with an AK, there are plenty of M4, M16, M14, MP40, MP44 on the field but the vast majority of AKs we see are used by what I would term as 'casual' airsofters. I don't mean that in a derogatory way, it's just the way I see it. AK variants seem to be far more popular in every other country except Ireland. Go figure.
@IEAirsoft I understand that, but in all vids I see, I only see M4s. There are so many other rifles except M4s and AKs, like the G36, AUG, MP5, SCAR, Sig 550/551, G3, Masada, LMGs, UMP, FNC, F2000 HK 416, L85 Fn FAL, Thompson, FAMAS, P90, and all of these come in all shapes and sizes. It's not that I dislike M4s, only that's the only thing you see.
I admit, these are probably all the guns available in airsoft and not all are cheap or practical for outdoor use, but there is some diversity.
@burt2800 G36: Oddy had one, he wasn't keen on it so sold it AUG & FAMAS: Yuk! MP5 or UMP or P90: Predominantly CQB guns, I have the troy & Oddy has his pimped CQB-S SCAR: another STANAG Sig 550/551: Yet another STANAG? G3 or FNC or FN FAL or L85: Not common at all Masada: Oddy has already reviewed his LMGs: I have an A&K M249 but I never use it F2000: Watch this space HK416: I have reviewed my TopTech T4-18 which is a 416 in all but name Thompson: Oddy has been on with his M1A1
We would love to review every AEG on the market but we can only do that when retailers are good enough to lend us kit to test/review OR we have already bought it ourselves. Another big factor is time, we don't get airsofting every week, far from it, and filming takes time out of this. Add to that the time to film the review @ home and the time to edit it all together and you get some idea what's involved. We do our best but we simply don't have the resources of the likes of Airsoft GI
@IEAirsoft Don't get me wrong, I wasn't complaining at all, I know that it's a lot of work to do these vids and that you do them for us. I was just a bit annoyed about M4s, but I wasn't expecting anything like Airsoft GI, I understand how that is a totally different budget league.
Always great videos, the last channel I would complain about.
im interested in what you said about the trigger contact problem on the g&P
i have a g&p m4, only a few months old and the triggers is a bit temperamental, some times when you switch from full to semi the semi will not work. all you get is a click for the trigger and notting else.
WRONG! Because it's more convenient we all tend to use FPS as a measure of how an AEG shoots, this is incorrect. The law in Ireland (and many other countries) specifies a muzzle energy limit, simply using heavier BBs does not reduce the muzzle energy. Please check one of the many airsoft forums for info on how to calculate muzzle energy,
To have range and accuracy outside install the ASG ultimate 50 rubber in it and use g&g .25 bio bbs. That made my otherwise not too accurate sentry a very useful gun in the woods.
In case of too loose gears on the hopup chamber (which may cause inaccuracy on these m4 hopups) put a 4x1 or 5x1 o-ring under the setting whel and an 5x1 (metric) o-ring under the middle wheel, this makes the wheels stiff, eliminates free play, and therefore they hold the hop setting better.
hey do you know if they still sell these i really want one ive been looking for one but i cant find one you think you can help me out

What price qualifies as high end?
GAM3BABIZZ 11 months ago
@GAM3BABIZZ $300, dunno what it is in quid
G&P, Ares, Tokyo Marui, Systema, VFC, Real Sword, and KWA are definitely the best

How much was it and where did you buy it?
Does it take 8.4v mini batteries or is a PEQ box needed?
steb557 11 months ago
@steb557
For the THIRD time I bought it in Eirsoft as a Partner Product from eHobbyAsia. I think it cost €390 as eHobby had a pre-Xmas special 15% discount.
PEQ box not needed, only added for gucciness. It's wired for stock-tube battery and I use the G&P 7.4v 1200mAh LiPos

hanks11deco 11 months ago
@hanks11deco
No Legal Limit in the UK atleast is 376-380 @ 0.2g round with an AEG
google Pro-Arms Muzzle Velocity Reduction Adaptor just make sure you get the right thread for your weapon
if it's bolt action your fine as but you will have M.E.D
