I can't find a video of her performing "Professional Widow" on the harpsichord live, and that's the one I really want to hear. This one and "Bells For Her" are amazing though.
@youkilledthefrog She never performed Professional Widow on the harpsichord except once when she did the intro and a bit of the first verse before going into Blood Roses. There's no video of that as far as I know but there is an audio recording.
The whole thing with drumming on the piano, carrying the note from one mic to the other, the look on her face, jumping back into the harpsichord, it's absolutely haunting.
I also like the small gesture when she's drumming on the piano and she sings "You're not here," and on "here" she touches her heart.
this is my all time favorite version of this song. its so chilling and has so much more depth. it takes you in. its a shame she hasnt performed it like this since that tour and probably never will again.
Its a shame she probably won't ever tour with the Harpsichord again (and I don't mean the crappy one on her yamaha keyboard lol.) She probably won't ever do a full solo tour either, which is a huge shame...
I rememberseeing her, on my birthday, on her Under the Pink Tour, at the Kravis Center in Palm Beach, FL. If it was possible, you could have heard a pin drop while she played, and when she spoke. No one uttered a sound. It was absolutely incredible.
the first time i'd ever heard of her, a friend invited me to see tori with her for her bday during the lotta pianos tour. i figured what the hell free concert right? and it was just like you said. DEAD silence, even me, i was so taken aback by her. i couldnt move i just sat there with my mouth open alternating gazes from the jumbo screen to the stage. the next day i got all her albums and became a huge fan. that show changed my life.
@critster No, it's not Lilith Fair. Lilith Fair started in 1997, this video is from 1996. Besides, Tori's never played Lilith Fair. This video is from the first Oakland show on July 12.
@nothingbutmeat I saw her that year but I saw a lot of concerts so I may have jumbled them up. It was a show with sun light and she was on the left side of the stage. She tore it up.
...wow. I feel like I'm in a trance watching her doing things like that. She's sooo incredibly good. I also love the way that she doesn't really keep her tempo. She does the beginning, then she speeds up, then slows down, and makes all these little and big changes and it always feels so natural and pure and perfect. 5/5 stars!
OMG!!!! This is my favorite version of this song EVER!!!!!! Especially when she goes from one microphone to the next!! AMAZING!!! I have every audio of it as I can get, AND NOW I SEE A VIDEO FOR THE FIRST TIME!! (other than RAINN) THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!!!!!
