That's great! I wanna make something like that but, how? I've been using blender for a while and still I can not make anything. The other day I made a cube, but then I figured it out that that cube was already there. I'm kidding. Anyway Great Job. 1000 and more congrats.
hope u don't find it offensive...but i'd like to see sum ppl make some games with crisper graphics, like xBox 360 or sumthin. i know i want to. theres gotta be a way to tho...right? o. o
OMFG!!! THIS IS THE KINDA THING I NEEDED!!!! i wana make a game in blender and im learning how and this like landscape and texsturing would make a great area
You could do the modeling and texturing in another program, but then you have to import it into Blender. The rest of the game you need to do in Blender (Animation, Logic, etc.). It's really just easier to use Blender for the entire thing.
wow thats amazing!i wish i could make games w/ textures like these! though im still learning the BGE basics, but i hope to make stuff like this one day!
I'm a little confused. If I were to make a game (assuming I knew the code), would I make my own engine? Or use others. I had to make my own, how would I do that? Basically, how do I make a game that I could sell on the market? Do I only need an engine for it? I could use help.
You don't need to have a full game engine to make a game. Creating a full game engine will distract from the actual creation of the game, while using another's game engine will often limit what you can do with your game. Generally you just concentrate on making you game, using graphics engines (such as irrlicht, OGRE, etc.) and physics engines (Such as Bullet, PhysX, etc.).
dude where have u been man, there is softbodies and shadows and all kinds of caaraazyy shiiizz in BGE these days lolzzlolzozlzolzozlzozozllzz.zzz.z.zzzzzzzzz xD
but with a bad graphics card, the shadows can take up a lot of frames and run slowly. He may have also baked in the shadows. That is what I do. It gives the same effect and less processing requirements.
Hey, can you explain what is baking shadows and how to do it, it would be great for my games.. and also.. i have a good graphics card.. dunno if it supports GLSL.. but if it did.. then do textures in blender automaticly look awesome, or do you have to do something to them too.
i like the trees, i think i could do every thing else though

How did You achieve such huge enviroment in BGE?
daEmoNicky 6 months ago
Bigger sky box! I'm feeling claustrophobic!
nexus1g 10 months ago
Looks nice. Only thing I have to say is that you can really tell that the skybox is just a wall with a texture on it. Doesn't look very real.

when you made the leaves for the trees did you use transparent image? or did you model the leaves 1 by 1?
legendofarthur 3 years ago
No, You model one leaf and keep on duplicating and rotating it.

How do you render full graphics without being in any other mode, and also when I create a first person game the graphics are horrible in game mode...
Can anyone help?
stickmandude123 3 years ago
You need the latest blender 2.48, and to get the fancy graphics you need a new graphics card that supports GLSL.

looks awesome!! Its bake rendering for the textures? The overall of the scene its high detailed, its a great work.
GabySoft 3 years ago
yeap, all the shadows are baked. You just can't get the any detail with realtime shadows on larger maps.
