I still remember all the words to the theme haha. I used to watch this with my sister when we were kids I'm 23 now and my sisters 27. They do a sky channel with all the classic shows on :)
@nschario I don't know... but it all they were missing is a smart dude with glasses. Now, if you'd consider sly to be a smart dude (just missing the glasses), then he could be Billy (from power rangers). Tommy would be the guy on the bike, the Asian girl would be Trini, the blond girl would be Kimberly, the drummer would be Zack, etc...
Not making fun or anything... just an ongoing theme of the time.
I think that I was in 10th grade in this show's heyday, but I absolutely loved it! The syndication run was great as well...it made you feel so relaxed when the "Rysher Entertainment" production logo flashed on with that music.
The first season, although it retained the same vocals by Brent Gore, the female vocals were entirely different. From season 3 onwards, a different male vocalist was used, but the same female vocals remained.
a new version would be so cool,BUT i would vote by sayin no,since youth nowadays are into corrumpted garbage.i wish the clock started ticking backwards already
This contemporary with Saved By the Bell, but the characters were a little more raw and more familiar with 90's teenage years. This was an awesome and the song is very beautiful.
Every summer holidays on channel 4 in the morning.
Other programmes alongside it were things like Saved by the Bell, Rocko's modern life, hang time, sister sister, the crystal maze, eerie indiana, secret world of alex mac, are you afraid of the dark etc.
I do agree with the people who said that the Season 2 intro was kinda weak. I much preferred the season 1 version. But, I guess they had to revamp it once Jake and Sam joined the cast. At least it only lasted one year before changing again to Season 3.
i remember watching these reruns when i was ten on saturday mornings. good times. kind of depressing knowing we'll never have shows like this again. the era of feel good coming-of-age sitcoms are over. it's all just gossip girl and teen moms now...
great show.... does anyone know this show , the set is mostly on a beach , there are 2 brothers that work at their dad's burger place , that's all i got .... can anyone help me out with the title..... thanks
hey does anybody know the name of a retro nbc show .... it mostly takes place on a beach ... and there are 2 brothers that work in their dad's kitchen or burger place , can anyone help me out with the title.... thanks
@pazenger5150 I wouldn't say rip off. Peter Engel produced both this and Saved By the Bell, so if a lot of the stories are the same, it's because the same guy did them.
I was also very happy when Jimmy Fallon reunited the cast together. While it lacked Diana Uribe (who was unavailable), it still included ALL of the original 1992 cast (except Matt's family, which doesn't really count lol) and then some!
While I still long for a true SBTB reunion, the difference is that I have seen all of the actors (except Lisa's) in many roles since, so I lose the "how do they look, and what have they been up to" side of things... which I got from this reunion! PURE AWESOME!!
god i remember this show. i think nbc should bring back a new teen lineup for the kids. otherwise, there will be more junk like hannah montana which will melt little girls' brains making them think it is okay to be raging whores
And to make it more blatant, they paired up the black dude and the asian chick on the show as a couple. God forbid either of them try to get with one of the white ones. =P
Keep your i- phones and all that crap, this was the real Golden Age.Happy days man, california dreams and Saved by the bell! Remember that chick in SBTB with the leather jacket?man was she hot..........
I remember seeing California dreams right after Pokemon on UPN 11 man those good days. But what was on on UPN 11 before Pokemon? I would say Biker mice from Mars or was it Tex Avery? answer this question ASP.
@ladystixxs yes saturday mornings were the best and the 90s rocked. i feel sorry for the kids today. their memories will be filled with text messaging and iCarly. we had it all.

Ever noticed they always use a black dude and a asian chick ? like in power rangers for instance? why not the other way around.. no offense its just a funny thought
ha it was fun watching the early 90's huge influence of style from the 80's evolve and change.
Starting from the 80's, the style of the youth was consistent, then changed in the late 90's, and into recently in the new melenium we are going retro and wearing all kinds of 80's gear
haha. about all of my friends have waferer shades, and acid wash jeans
I was watching that straight-to-DVD movie "Casino Job," and every time I saw the guy who played Scribe, I kept on thinking: I know I've seen that actor before... or maybe he just looks like some other actor, and I'm confusing him with that person...
But then I saw the cast list and it was Jay Anthony Franke. I used to watch California Dreams all the time. Like Saved by the Bell, it was dumb but fun.
Wow...I'm, like, RIDICULOUSLY sad and choked up watching this. My whole childhood slipped away when I wasn't looking. God, so many years.....where did they go?

The title of this clip is misleading.
There were three episodes that aired for Season 2 before this intro came about.
It's insulting to the intelligence of the fans to blanket this as simply "Season 2 Intro".
It needs to be changed to "Season 2 Intro, Version 2".
And by the way, dream517, I DO appreciate you putting up all these great California Dreams clips.
Please rename the clip as soon as possible.
And I think we'd all like to see the intro for the first three episodes of season 2.
