  • That's absolutely beautiful girls with no music and recorded on a camera phone (I think). It's a traditional Irish song but I've never heard it sang as good here in Ireland. Nice one :-)

  • Lovely. Keep singing ladies.

  • your really good i love it

  • ive listened to folk music for over 30yrs and this is abs. brilliant

    i love the harmonies

i like the meryl streep version too but you should listen to robin williamson singing this on

songs for children of all ages

dont remove this girls this is a gem

  • Very nice rendition. One pointer for you: On the 2nd last line of each verse you sang (I think) "and o'er it all" whereas it should be "A leanbhan O" or "A leanbhan Óg", which means "A little child" or a "young little (female) baby" depending on your interpretation. Leanbhan is pronounced as Lan-van and is "As Gailge" - an Irish or Gaelic word.

  • Sooo pretty :) You both have lovely voices, and suzanne, your alto line is just beautiful!!

  • Just AWESOME!

  • Wow. Amazing! (:

  • I keep returning to this song. It is sung so beautifully. Please please dont ever take it away - I would hate for it to be gone.

  • B-E-A-U-TIFUL except for the little screw up at the end, but it was a good sound to hear ^-^

  • im in love with the girl in the green... i want to meet you..

where in the world can i meet you.?

  • Girls you sang this song very well, you sound stunning together

  • you girls brought tears to my eyes... indeed the proof of God's existence is in music

  • Comment removed

  • How is it proof of God's existence? I agree it's lovely singing for sure, and the sound of their voices is wonderful, but I can't see exacly what that has to do with your personal religious beliefs!

  • for me darling, it is proof of God's existence...for you it can be something else....i dont necessarily care...its just my own interpretation of music

  • I can respect that - just was challenging how you phrased it in your previous response as a "fact"!

  • oh it isn't a fact dear

the thing is, i'm struggling with religion, so i constantly try to remind me of the things that 'God' stands for

  • Well done guys. You're both great singers!

  • good job, bu this song is not by meryl streep- its an irsh traditional

  • yes, I know. My sister and I first heard this song because Meryl Streep sang it on an album for kids when we were little. i am a lover of Ireland so I was thrilled to find it is an Irish folksong.

  • Yes, the song comes from County Donegal, Ireland. In a little village called Gartan, where Saint Colmcille was born, one of 3 patron saints of Ireland.

  • This is lovely - the harmonies really sit perfectly

  • Amazing!! Amazing voices and the song.. *-* beautifull choice!!

  • Amazing, I love this song, you guys totally did it justice. Thank you!

  • beautiful together.

  • This is a truly beautiful song, sung by equally beautiful girls. Have they sung any other songs, if so, are they on CD? Thank you for sharing this with us.

  • Nice ideas with the harmonies. Really really shocking tuning though.

  • Utterly spellbinding! 5 stars

  • This is just beautifully sung---it should be recorded. I would buy it.

  • In my childhood I lived near Garten so this lullaby is one of my favourites. Thank you for posting it.

    Greetings from Ireland.

    Terry

  • Thank you Terry. I just visited Ireland and felt I was home again. Then I came home and was depressed. But I still have The Garten Mother's Lullaby.

  • Where is the house and garden? Is it a stately home? I recognise it. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

    Beautiful voices by the way.

  • Beautiful!

    Well done

  • Wow, that is awesome!:) Great job:)

  • Lovely harmony!!
