i live in wisconsin and at most i can ride from mid april to late november... and thats if we dont get snow in november and it melts in april. im 17 and the main reason i have a motorcycle is because i love to ride and its good on gas. in the summer i only wear a helmet and a back brace, shorts, shoes and a tshirt. I also have a truck tho so thats pretty good. im rockin the 250r too!
@TheCrazymook haha, i swear am buying one in like 4 hours....=D am cool..no jk..but yeh... i heard from like pros that ninja 250 is an AWESOME bike....good luck..
lookup some luggage and racks, good breathable waterproof gear and put a bit more of money to get way better n lighter textile gear for hot and cold wheater, not 100$ crap that make you miserable.
I enjoy watching you ride. I'm not allowed to drive my scooter at the moment because of health issues, so to watch your riding takes me back to when I could ride. There's nothing quite like it. Better than being in a car most times, even if there are weather conditions to consider and the danger element.
@smokydaburr LOL, that car/truck is a 'ute' ... in AUS thats pretty much the standard, not many 'trucks' This one here is either a V6 or a V8, plenty of power... pretty much they are like your sedan cars, but with only 2 seats and the back half is like a truck... so you are pretty accurate with saying "car/truck" If you want an example of the power of this ute, search for 've sv8 ute' or 'hsv maloo '
I'm planning on getting a motorcycle in england, now as you should know it rains... a lot here, so my question is, how bad is it to ride in the rain, with waterproofs on?
@TheDeadlyNote I have a waterproof jacket that does it's job with aplomb. Invest in some waterproof gloves, which don't cost much more than non-waterproof ones, and maybe some waterproof boots. You'll be just fine.
@TheDeadlyNote As far as chill factor goes, most everything that comes with a waterproof liner, also comes with an insulated liner that keeps you warm and keeps the windchill at bay. You definitely want to look into glove liners for the extra cold days, and you'll want something you can wrap around your neck like a balaclava or scarf. Your neck and hands is where you'll feel it the most. As for storage, a good tank bag and some cheap saddlebags were one of the best investments I ever made.
@dustysquito okay, thanks for all your help i will defo look into getting some sort of tabnk or saddle bags they'd be damn useful for college stuff to.
What he says is true for ALL PARTS of the world. Even countries where Biking is more common than driving a car. You forgot the con of having to take your helmet off everytime you go shopping or filling up the petrol and having to carry your helmet every where with you - if you don't have a helmet lock on your bike.
I'm getting a new Ninja 250 in the next week or two and have a shitty old ford falcon, so I'm set! haha. My falcon was a cheapo so it's not worth trading in, otherwise it'd be gone! I'd just steal my old man's diesel when in need :P
hi blinky,Ihave just updated pov 1.5 to pov hd.I love the hd but ,i cant seem to get the sound right.Have you done any thing ,because your sound is very clear .What settings are you using.Let me know thanks stevosid [aussie]
Hey blinky i watched your videos end of last year turned 18 in april and i covinced my parents to get my bike license and a Kawasaki ninja! you +m13 are a good inspiration espically because your Australian keep it up!
I'd swap my car for a bike except I work in a city called Newcastle and it's full of angry people with small dicks and pms that love to kill people on bikes to take Their anger away from how shit the place they live is.
i've had an accident on a bike like 2 days ago. i had all my gear on except protective pants. i didn't feel a thing everywhere i had protective gear. For not wearing protective pants (i was in jeans), i ended up with a banged up purple knee. had i not have gear, i would've ended with a cracked head, a broken foot and a broken finger. instead i ended up with a cracked visor, a broken glove, scratched boot and a little torn jacket.
I went through my first winter and 4 month of no riding . . . I went crazy to say the least and yes I always get crap in my eye's with the visor down ;P. Cagers have NO RESPECT for riders, when they see us they think were a useless part of society. I have even had someone push my rear tire forcing my off the road on the. Now I understand why most people are flying by these dumb ass cagers ;P.
In Latvia we have winter and in summer a lot of rain too. But rain suit costs less than 40$ and you can ride comfortable, warm and get to work dry :) Love to ride in rain.
@squarecnix Saying something is for fags is just down right stupid... Side bags are very handy and they work for when you wan't to pick up food and stuff, so while you look like a moron trying to fit your food in your backpack I can just throw them in my side bags.
it amazes me how few cars are there, after all Australia has a low population density. I agree with you blinky, I just began riding, my first bike is a 2007 650r and so far I'm pretty happy, but fortunately I also have a car to meet my needs, the bike is my expensive toy.
Lots of things you've mentioned can be easily overcame with a little perseverance Blinky, First of all, a thin but perfectly good 2 piece waterproof oversuit can be bought for around £15. That'll stop any water, keep you bone dry and also stop wind chill in colder climates. Secondly, something I couldn't do without, a top box can be bought and fitted to any bike (panniers also can add to storage). That'll allow you to carry all kinds on the bike. I very much suggest a box and waterproofs for you
You cant really comment on riding in the rain until you get wet weather gear..... Then make a comment... Its pretty good riding in the wet and feeling dry. Wear raincoat and protective weather gear over your pants then do a video :-)
@every1wasanoob that's because your pc " remembers" what sites you've been visiting. google adsense is showing you ads most relevant to those sites. if you'd have searched for motorcycles, you'd probably see motorcycle ads in the top right corner
for the thing about snow...we can still ride in the winter i dont know what youre talking about not riding for months...it doesnt snow everyday.most days in winter, the roads are dry
@2cool0 Not in Michigan, USA. Almost everyday during the winter there is some snow on the roads. Hypothetically you could still ride but, if you have a bike in Michigan, you won't be riding. There are plenty of places in the world that people live where the roads are covered in snow 24/7 during the 3+ winter months making it impossible to actually ride.
How hard is it actually to kick the gearshift? I love motorcycles and I would like one but I'm not old enough and I've never even ridden on the back of one.

@TwitballJosh how the hell does that work. Thats like driving in your car, thinking to yourself, "Man, something is missing, but im not sure what it is. Oh shit, i forgot to put clothes on!!!"
You are lucky. I wish I could ride my bike all year round .I live in newfoundland Canada .I put my bike away in October and can not take it back out until late may( it is a 2010 250 ninja also). Love ur vid's!!
In Montreal (Canada) we can't ride from about December to March due to snow, and even in November and April not many people ride because of the cold. You're lucky only to have occasional rain to contend with!
If you don't like the rain Blinky, you could alway's get a BMW c1 ( it's a scooter with a roof, and a windshield wiper !! ).... Dunno if you can get them in OZ ?
ive got a con i high sided my bike two days ago now ive got a broken wrist and a broken bike but hey im still not buying a car and i was on the dirt bike today :P
What I found annoying was when I bought my first iridium silver visor , thought it was so cool until it got dark :) . Having to ride with the visor up is so painful.
Hey, thanks for all these videos, i just got my 09 ninja 250 two weeks ago and your videos are really fun to watch and informative. So thanks for helping me make a descision on my bike and keep up the good work :D

Nice to hear from you Blinky!
In Montreal (Canada) we can't ride from about December to March due to snow, and even in November and April not many people ride because of the cold. You're lucky only to have occasional rain to contend with!

speaking of gloves, i switch from half finger gloves to full finger gloves
although id think half finger gloves is more feeling and more comfort than full finger gloves

What I found annoying was when I bought my first iridium silver visor , thought it was so cool until it got dark :) . Having to ride with the visor up is so painful.
