I am not an instructor, but I am a NAUI (Nat. Assoc of Underwater Instructors) Certified. I had to be able to tread water for 10 mins. Swim above the water for about 4 laps in the pool, swim U/W for about 50 feet? Was about 8 yrs ago so I forget the exact dist. Then you have to do skills with mask, snorkel, fins and then later, comes skills with the air tank and air vest (BC). Is easier than it sounds but you do have to focus. 1st get snorkel gear and practice being u/w with gear.
hi there I am not sure if you are a instructor or not but i myself want to become a diver of some kind. I was wondering what kind of physical requirements you need in order to pass as a diver? how can I get started? and are there jobs for this kind of stuff?
@AAKB08 From what I know is some money to be made becoming an instructor. Biggest money is being instructor at tropics or resorts but it takes some work to get up to that levels and years of experience. Me and wife paid $200 each for course. book was extra and we shared. We also paid like $8 each day we used the pool (gold course) and we had to pay the fees to dive the springs each time. Course was like twice a week for six weeks? We paid a little more since it was more one on one. Go for it!
