1.18 - 1.24 was responsible for me joining Aikido. I was ten years old when I saw that clip. It still sends shivers down me every time I see it. I have never seen anyone like him.
I do not train aikido..but most people cannot do anything today more than a couple of years....he trained very long and hard in a martial art..maybe you do not like the art but you must respect dedication to anything for a long time.
It's said in this video that a french sensei who lives and teaches aikido in the north of France has fulfilled his child dreams by inviting Steven Seagal to a two days training in his dojo...
Say what you want about him but he still is a master, still spent all those years in Japan with his own dojo. So what if he put on some weight or his skills have dulled over the years. He is human like the rest of us and prone to temptation, weakness, and bouts of saying dumb things he regrets. But as a whole this man has enriched the lives of many. So before anyone talks bad about him go train like he did, and achieve what he did.
People here forget that any martial art event or movie-making are for the most part choreographed;especially hollywood nonsense. It does seem that most youtuber's are of the mainstream crowd coming to blindly worship whatever and whomever is on here. You are all sadly mistakened and need a rude awakening, because for too long you have you slept for many years..in most matters.
I'm qualified and i saw him in a seminary in Paris in 2000: he clearly have better to do now than teaching aikido. That's not to be rude, but only the truth.
I'd forgotten I'd made that comment but, yes, it still sounds like "Seagull". This video was back in the days when Seagal was in shape and still making watchable movies...
aikido is the most effective art in the world it is dominating the UFC and it beats all even jujitsu
seagal is the best fighter in the world he can beat jet li jackie chan tito ortiz anyone. but he would not fight them cuz hes a nice kind man love you steve

@Jaketye - I totally agree. So many people in Aikido are jealous of Seagal.

@Jaketye Not for the all the money and fame granted to him for it...that's outrageous.

He used to be a master...but now that he's dreaming to be a Lama he really got poor skills in aikido :(
He who has recently seen him in a dojo should agree that he really need to practice...

Are you qualified to say that? Think you can take him?
