@craigfergusonimages i wish they didnt tear down so many abandoned places like amusement parks i rlly wanna go to one sometime but probably by then they will tear all of them down :(
is this place still there? please let me know, as i want to go on a trip somewhere eerie in the next few weeks. it would be nice to go there this weekend whilst ghost month is still on, please let me know when you can... cheers!
@neoninjajava It's no longer there but I've heard about another one in the same area (Dakeng, Taichung) that is also abandoned. I don't have any more info than that however.
@craigfergusonimages thanks for the info man, i checked dakeng, but the amusement park there seems to be up and running. looking at the possibility of san zhi, the ghost town north of taipei, you know it? i can find info on it, but nothing that tells me if it's still there or not, might try it though. cheers again for the help
@neoninjajava I live kinda near San zhi but it's also gone. I think they pulled it down almost 2 years ago. I actually went past the site the other day and it's unrecognizable now. I did manage to shoot there a couple of times.
@craigfergusonimages hey man, thanks for the information, i would have felt like a right idiot bringing my mates up there and just seeing nothing! thanks for the help, i'll google around and see if there are any more spooky places/abandoned villages in taiwan to enjoy. cheers, from kaohsiung.
once i found electricity running to one of the old abandoned drive in theaters to a projector and it still worked. sadly, there was no film in it to enjoy :(
too bad you couldnt try and make electricity travel to one or more of the rides to see if you could turn them on just to see what happens? that would be AWESOME!! lool.....rollercoaster of death.
but seriously, if you know of anyone who did and posted them on youtube, PLEASE......let me know. thanks ;)
i desperately, for some reason, want to see one of the old rides working again or trying to work till it blows up.
but still, your video here is hauntingly beautiful ;)
Craig, many tks for posting this..when my family lived abroad, this was one of the parks I was lucky enough to go to..shame to see the Senyo shuttle loop just sitting there.
ah right i get what you mean. thanks. i was thinkin it looked like a strange ride! lol. i wonder if it looks as big in real life as it does in the pictures
@trema006 that coaster is one of the early shuttle loops (Greezed Lightnin, tidal wave, etc) what looks unfinished is just the end spike, although I think the end of it fell in the quake
so it's completely torn down? if you have any more pictures or video of before or after i would love to see them. for some reason i'm unbelievably interested in this kind of thing.
@Patiencelim - I can't remember the thing at 2.16 was. It was very overgrown. I'm pretty sure it wasn't a bumper car, as there was another bumper car in the same area.
Does anyone else think the pictures are very eerie? It would have been so awesome to explore an abandoned amusement park though, a once in a lifetime opportunity.
Thanks everyone for the comments. The park is no longer there, it has now been demolished. The reason it sat abandoned for so long was because it didn't make economic sense (to the owner) to pull it down. However the price of scrap metal, particularly steel, went up dramatically to the point where the owners could make a small profit by pulling it down and selling it for scrap.
there is something about this place being abandoned, strange to see such a great place once full of life now just stopped still and almodt dead the spirit is gone now,x
I don't see why they would leave the rides and everything up if they know it isn't going to ever reopen:( They did that to an amusment park near my house:( About three year ago the took the last ride down. The park had been closed for a long time. If anyone has some video's or picture of that park please put them up.
i don't think it was unfinished. At Kennywood in PA, there is a roller coaster just like that where it "ends." there is a loop in the center and the massive incline is used to slow down the cars.
What song is this?

actualy if you look to the right of at 2:44 it looks like it was meant to be like that
trema006 2 years ago
was there supposed to be more to the ride at 4:19 ?
trema006 2 years ago
Hmm, good point. I'm not too sure as I never saw it when it was open.
craigfergusonimages 2 years ago
do you know of any photos on the web anywhere of how the park looked originaly?
trema006 2 years ago
No sorry. You might find something via Google.
craigfergusonimages 2 years ago
It could have stopped there and then gone backwards just like that one in Epcot in Walt Disney World florida. The Everest ride.

ah right i get what you mean. thanks. i was thinkin it looked like a strange ride! lol. i wonder if it looks as big in real life as it does in the pictures
trema006 2 years ago
I mean the ride the Animal Kingdom in Walt Disney World.
Kiddy2468 2 years ago
The Everest Ride, also known as Expedition Everest, is in the Animal Kingdom theme par, not Epcot.

@trema006 I'm not sure about this, but I believe the ride at 4:19 is a Senyo shuttle loop; the spike in the image is one end of it.
