  • yea luks like ull lose very badly if u follow these steps lol

  • The scoop is just an insurance policy. Make sure the side kick is off target. So step out, step sideways. The scoop is for stopping repetitve side kicks by exposing the attacker's back. If you watch Andy Souwer defend against round kicks, you'll see the same thing. So it's a very good technique, if you know why and how.

  • that wont work trust me i tryed in a fight broke my arm

  • In Muay Thai they teach to "kick through the target." They call their leg area from the foot to the knee the "baseball bat." This defense is good against an attacker who chambers his kicks up (bends his knee), but not against the devestating Muay Thai techniques.

  • @cwondermagic1 you're thinking of the muay thai round house, which is a different kick all together

  • @cwondermagic1 How can muay Thai kicks be comapred to those who mastered hard skills that can crush bones just by blocking. The harder you kick, the worst ur leg condition becomes when someone with a high level of mastery blocks it.

  • best defence against side kick, i assume

  • Yes, block the kick by placing your hand on the side of his foot opposite of where he is directing it, then scoop it in the direction of his motion. That will stop the attack.

  • Are these dudes for real? For somehow I just gotta wonder do they..

  • Useless. That shit will not work.

  • yes this cant be work when the kich is very fast . better is you move back.

  • Better to side step.

  • It does work. because a side kick is coming toward you it doesnt require a lot of effort to move it to the side. As with all martial arts timing is key.

  • crap-tas-tic

  • "... ok, so a side kick is a very powerful kick... so I'm going to block it with my HAND..." What a moron.

  • He's not blocking against the direct force of the kick. Doing that would break his hand. However, he's pushing it away from an evasive angle. What he should have done is side step to ensure the impact is both deflected and avoided.

  • thats not how i was taught... you step out of the way and grab the foot and then side kick their face...

  • That's what he did.
