  • I first saw this on MTV in the fall of 1983 (instead of the HBO Video Jukebox chryon it had the classic MTV chryon which had the artist, song, album which song appeared and record label at start and finish of the video).

    Men At Work

    "High Wire"

    Cargo

    Columbia/CBS Records

Prior to getting cable and Music TeleVision, I only saw videos on America's Top 10 (that's where I first saw Supertramp's It's Raining Again, Styx's Mr Roboto, Men at Work's Overkill, Pink Floyd's Not Now John videos)

  • Back when MTV played...music videos?$&@

  • Not a great song...... and "Men at Work" was not a great group. But their music brings me back to the simple carefree time of my childhood. Playing " Business as Usual" and "Cargo" on vinyl.....I miss those days....

  • @Univermag So you say NOT a great group? so why you buy their albums? apart from best of, these two albums are superb......i think you really are a closet Men At Work Fan......enjoy the music 251,269 people cannot be wrong.....!!!!!!!!

  • 8 people feel off their High Wire.

  • he reminds me a little bit like bulldog from frasier.

  • Viva Colin Hay and Men at Work. Aussie fucken legends

  • Hmm I think that guy's the bassist...he always have sunglasses on. Wonder his eyes are even wackier than Hay's

  • tiene buen ritmo esta cancion y la verdad en emisoras de musica delos 80s nunca la habia escuchado. siempre increible men at work

  • im 13 and i love this band and i love 70s and 80s music

  • @axelfan112 i love to hear younger people still listening to great music like this :) keep on rockin :)

  • @majbummer I agree that little smile is hilarious

  • 1:51 That is my favorite face in the universe.

  • 7 people fell from high wire

  • I remember back in '83, when MTV news reported that a video was being filmed for "Highwire". Even had a clip of Colin Haye on the floating mattress. Yet, I never saw the video once on MTV. Not until now....18 years later.

  • @mikecleona 18 years? I think you meant 28...

  • men at work s very good band..........XD

  • This has always been one of my favorite tracks by Men At Work. I never knew there was a video for it until tonight. I'm glad I discovered it!

  • fuckin Al bundy music...sucks ass

  • Yeaaa I Like "Men At Work"

  • Frightening Leader

  • HE'S LUSH.!

  • I like the part at 1:50 where he just jumps on screen.

  • hahah Ron Strykert looks so helpless with those symbols. God I love this band

  • i don't know if men at work made a video for one of my favorites..."Blue For You"...that song is great!

  • Never knew they had a video for this song.

  • is great to feel good music.

  • great album "Cargo"

  • 2:27 summed up the inherent wackiness of 80's videos... hahaha... brilliant

  • I was & am still in SO love with them!!!!

  • Good song. I just listened 2 their "Best Of" cd.

  • I remember this video from seeing it on HBO's Video Jukebox, which was a 30 minute program that featured new music videos. They would run the same videos for a month, then switch to a new batch. A lot of otherwise forgotten videos have been stuck in my memory because of that show.

  • Best song by them!!!

  • this is an old one wow! the video almost falling off the wheel.

  • @grubeci LOL! ABSOLUTLY TRUE. AND ITS STILL DOPE.

  • Thank you for posting this video. I never knew there was a video for High wire until now.

  • wow, this music makes australia more beautiful than it is

  • Nobody makes music like this any more. A lot of today's music can't even be called music in my opinion.

  • Ain't that the sad truth. It's not even entertainment....its a bunch of whores or gangstas that can't even read or write, let alone play an instrument. Today's music is pretty much all the equivalent of a fast food hamburger....processed crap.

  • @ruffe90 i agree....i agree...i don't even really listen to music anymore because it is so bad...so i rely on fine people to post good music!

  • @ruffe90 some of it can, but not much

  • @ruffe90 today's music? ... oh you mean the autotuned stuff

  • good song!

  • Why bother. The sound quality is $#|+!

  • a really great band

  • anybody here the similarity between t he chorus here and "highway to hell"?

  • Good song.I liked them in the'8o's, more than U2.

  • Colin Hay is a brilliantly funny and intelligent musician ..i agree Hodson 2000

  • Colin Hay is a comedian as well as singer-songwriter! These video's were pretty hilarious! Too bad I couldn't appreciate their low-budget appeal back in the day...

  • Be honest, there's a lot of similarities between Colin Hay and Pete Townshend.

  • Hmmmm. That never crossed my mind.

  • @StanBennet and w/ Sting off Police

  • I've NEVER seen this video!!!!

  • Tiene mucho sentido....great

  • 1:39 lol

  • i agree :-)

  • fine... this's a good videi - the circle

  • Absolutely brilliant man!

  • u faget

  • The drums are killer in this tune! I used to "air drum" this song over and over when I was a kid.

  • Good song

  • Haha! I like 1:54 ! This's a good video!

  • damn i love this song

  • Hi, what a great band, the realy 80s whilst in the persian gulf for 8 months guarding the shipping lanes with the Royal navy, listening to great tapes from Men at work ,remember buying bootleg copies for 50p (uk) and what a bargain ,still got the copies in the shed and upgraded to CD, Kids dont know what to do when Dad is blasting out in broken support at 120 DBA..thanks muchley for the post...

  • shut the fuck up men at work rock you just have no fucking taste you probaly listen to inxs or megadeath

  • It sounds like Huey Lews & The News.

  • I used to listen to this tape on my sony walkman sport while I played Atari Adventure. MAW always bring back good memories of simpler times. :^) Thanks for posting.

  • This was recorded from "Video Jukebox" on HBO. LOL!

  • After a while you actually grow to like the song. A month ago I wrote that the song was annoying, but I like it now!

  • There is not 80's without MAW's music. They were the best.

  • I love Men at Work, but cant stand this song....

  • is colin hay an acrobat?

  • The song has almost a Heauy Lewis and the News sound to it and the only thing I liked about the video was the ending, with the behind the scenes footage of the band.

  • Where was released as a single?

It wasn't released in the UK as one.

  • It was released in the US when I was in like 6th grade. It was pretty popular over here at that time. Dr. Hekyll and Mr Jive was much more popular, however. I always loved this band. They were actually very talented.

  • No WAY DUDE watch it again. 2:26-2:28 is sooooooo siiiick!!!! And 1:52-1:53 is freakin funny!!!!

  • WHAT?!?!?!

i never knew there was a video to this song.

one of my favorite M.A.W songs

    they made the greatest videos
