Hey Everybody! I have just released my new electronic album “Sub-Zero” which is heavily inspired by game soundtracks and OC Remixes. If you're interested you can listen to the full album on my youtube channel, as well as download the album for free!
super nintendo rocks harder than games out there these days. games of the 2000's try too hard to make their games as realistic and movie like as can be. even the music from the nintendo, genesis, super nintendo etc. from the 80's and 90's kills the music in the video games today, the music from today sound like you are watching a movie instead of playing a game.
My brother and I grew up on this game and I bought a Super NES just for this and the second one(not so fond of the third) This is an awesome tribute to the game. Thanks for posting.
Great use of the OC Remixes btw. That is some of the best music out there.
@BetaB0ss No problem. Thanks for sharing your work. I've been enjoying watching this. If you are interested in Star Wars, CSI, CSI; Miami, Special Victims Unit or NCIS, I have made several videos and I would love your input on them. Hope I get to see more of your work soon. Thanks. ;)
This is a greatly put together video, you actually put care into the visuals and music to meld together while showing actual specific points of the game in style. Well done. Good watch, need more !!
Yoshi's island, DKC 1& 2, SMB 3, Super Mario World, EarthWorm Jim 1&2. Definitely some of the top 10 plataformers ever, and top 20 videogames ever, imho.
They don't make games like this anymore. It's either overly macho FPS's or baby games.
The classics like DK and Mario had a certain magic about them that made them fun for everyone. Unlike the stupid minigames we have today like DK Jungle Beat.
funny you mention overly macho FPS's because they made fun of games like that in DKC when you visit Cranky he says the hero shouldnt be a bunch of apes it should be a really big and muscular guy with a gun, i also find it funny how even 15 years ago macho tough guys with guns was already being considered cliche yet the concept still goes on in games like gears of war, i guess game designers lost their sense of imagination over the years
Its for the story of DKC. His hoard was stolen, and as he fights the bosses and eventually K. Rool, he gets it all back (shown at the end of the video).
Actually I got it from street fighter II turbo for the snes, but its exactly the same thing. haha I am impressed. I didn't think anyone would recognize that.
In my books, nothing beats DKC1, or FF7. Both amazing games that I grew up playing when I was younger. Everyday at my baby sitters all of us kids would fight for a turn to play DKC1, we never beat it, but we always came awfully close. Great memories.
Donkey kong country rules!!! its the best classic game ever!!.. it brings back memories that i wont forget. i am glad i grew up playing these games and i am glad to say that i still play the games and still own them :).
I'd just like to point out that I've entirely beaten all three, and IMHO 2 is deffinetly the best... However, in both 2 and 3 they removed my favourite animal buddies from the first game. sure rattly the rattlesnake kinda made up for winky the frog, but there was no replacement for esspresso, he was the best animal buddie! I own all three on the wii's virtual console and I can easily say great things about all of them, but I'd prefer 1 or 2 anyday to 3.
My friend likes 2 the most. I don't have it, I only have 1 and 3.
1 is easier, the most basic, and the only one which has Donkey Kong as playable character (Damn!) number 2 and 3 have NO DONKEY KONG!!! I hate that.
I like 1 the most: it's more simple. Less collectable items, simple world map.
Number 3 has a huge world map with boats, DK coins hidden in all levels, a secret world unlockable with BONUS coins, Banana birds (I don't know what they do) and you have more moves.
In terms of gameplay, I would say DKC2 and DKC3 are tied. DKC3 has some really nice unique levels and bosses, while DKC2 has great challenging level designs.
But overall, DKC2 is the best IMHO. The pirate theme, the characters, and THE MUSIC (without a doubt some of the best VG music ever made) just makes it a better overall game.
DKC3 kinda lost a bit of the charm that the first game brought with its technology theme. With that said, its still an excellent game
SirGnork is right about DKC1 being the simplest. There isn't a whole lot of variety in the levels (you are always going from left to right, the animal buddies don't play a big role, and bosses repeat). Its a great game that everyone remembers, but DKC2 improves on it in every way.
Thats exactly what I thought when I was deciding which one to use in the video. I personally like remixes that are closer to the originals. But vigilante's is still an excellent remix.
lol i remember this game!! so awesome!! lol its one of my fav. games. lol no days its just easy but fun to play. anyone else here beat it in under 1 hour?
;') i know this sounds weird but bro u made it work everyone who is watching this is remembering the Greatest Trilogy of games made.... great vid im crying
man i remember playing this at my cousins house.i remember all the songs and im about to sample the water level on a rap song too.god this bought back memories i almost cried
...(a tear from my eye) this really bring back memories.. i can still remember when i was a little kid and i was sittingand played this game, i didnt have a SNES myself, soo i went always to my friend which have one soo i could play a my biggest nintendo star off al time...Donkey Kong... this is really nice, 12 out of 10 stars... fantastic game, beatiful music, and a amazing video... ty for making this
I usually dont request things but could you do one for chrono trigger, or castlevania, or super ghouls n ghosts or legend of zelda link to the past (just one of those would be alright and you don't have to if you don't want to)
To this day, this game stands as one of the pinnacles in gaming achievement. Not only did it mark the return of a gaming icon, but it fully utilized the capabilities of the SNES and pretty much declared "in your face" to all the naysayers who claimed the 16-bit era was at its end. Of course, it was also an absolute blast to play from start to finish. Five stars for a fantastic video!
Thanks for the comment! DKC is definitely a gaming achievement. While I don't consider the gameplay to be revolutionary, it is still extremely fun and just what DK needed. That, plus its fantastic charm and style, is why it will be remembered by gamers forever.
oh the memories, i wanna play again, i remember i played this when i was like 5, i liked donkey kong country 2 more though, it seemed a lot longer than the original
Yes, I agree. While DKC is the most memorable, my favorite of the trilogy has to be DKC 2. The pirate theme, level design, and gameplay are all superior imo. And the music is really outstanding. It is a tough game for beginners, but I love the challenge.
Good!!! The Donkey Kong Country Saga is my favourite game! I also make videos from this game. This is one of the few good music videos I have seen of this game.
ey man.. seriosly.. i dont reply to alot of videoes, but this one is the most deserving i have ever seen. I remember sitting playing it at my cousins when i was like 5(im 18 now), only the first track, over and over and over again. Couple of months ago, i found my SNES, wich i kinda got from my cousin, and when i finaly completed it, it felt like one of the biggest victories in my life. Sad but true.
Btw, how do you get the picture from the snes onto you computer?
Cool, not as well done as your SMW, but I guess Mario is easier to control than DK. There are one or two black pauses that may be unnecessary, but overall I think you've done a good job. I really like how you match the scenes with the music, but that doesn't work during the slow (underwater) scenes of course, you seem better with speed. Like the SMW video you made, this one also have a part that is slow (like SMW ghost house), and I think that is very good and you should keep the pattern.
(cont.) The SMW one was so good that I wouldn't mind seeing another one :) but Perhaps SMW2 Yoshi Island could be interesting (though I've only played that on an emulator). Another flexible game could be Super Metroid, there you have a lot of possibilities and also great music. Well, keep up the good work :D
Hey, thanks for the great feedback and advice. It can be very difficult and time consuming to make these vids with windows movie maker, so sometimes I overlook things. I should start looking for another editing software....and those two games you mentioned were two that I had really considered being in my next video lol

First DKC is my favourite platform -game of all time...
-When the only thing you can possibly imagine complaining is that classic "we want more", then they surely did something right with this game...

I should start looking for another editing software....and those two games you mentioned were two that I had really considered being in my next video lol
