The speed of the handles is directly related to the speed of the boat, the connection at the front end should definately be the slowest part of the drive, as the spoons gather water behind them.
So imagine - Glutes = slow / Legs = moderate / Back = Faster / Arms = Fastest
Remember when you're crew rowing and you hear everyone breathe "pogh-poghhhhhhhh"... the second part is the body and shoulders coming back expelling the air. Try breathing the same.
2. Try and 'accelerate' the boat more. It seems like the handles get slower during the drive??? - It should be the opposite, because boat resistance becomes lighter.
When the handles are approaching each other (when your knees are just below the white stripe in your lycra). Use the glutes 'feeling' from a deadlift/straight-leg deadlift to help with this.
As always, the toes are to be pointed/connected to the foot plate at this point.
How did you fix the camera on? I'd love to do a clip of me rowing from that angle...not that I ever get flat water like that!

@crazypianolady
I used a GoPro surf camera..its a waterproof HD video camera which has a suction cup at the bottom. You can pick them up online, my boat club had one

Your legs could probabaly leg press 300kg,
Your back, hamstrings and glutes could deadlift 130kg,
Your arms could only benchpull 80kg......
You should row in that sequence with those ^^^ emphasis on the acceleration.

3. Wouldn't hurt to Square-Up earlier too - just as your hands are over your ankles.

@rowstudent A 'Straight-arm-Body-only' rowing exercise will help with this. Try and see how far you can make your boat run, just using the glutes!!

1. Try not to break the arms so early. i.e. they should be used once the legs are fully down and the back has pivoted.
To practise - try and tense the triceps during the drive and lean back. Also giving the little fingers a squeeze on the handles also aids this.
