I drove to Washington, D.C., to see Bjorn Again at the Capital Ballroom. The Ballroom lay behind the Capitol, and I noted the Statue of Freedom atop the dome. The Ballroom was a disco with the 70s as its theme. The concert lasted an hour and 15 minutes. I got my wish when the girls performed in the cat costumes. White knee-high boots accented sumptuous thighs. There was choreography and interplay between the girls. Bjorn Again is from Australia, and they are the best of the tribute bands.
As a family we are seeing these guys tomorow night after being with them from the beginning. It does give our 12 year old daughter a chance to live the magic of ABBA with something that is so close to the original. They do add a little bit of extra fun as well.
The idea of this and simmilar other groups is not to steal fame from original ABBA, which is impossible - by the way, but to keep the flame of ABBA alive and kicking long after original ABBA is gone.
Thank you Bjorn Again - new generations will at least have chance to get to know ABBA through you.
What a cheap retarded way to get attention. Anyone who has to tread on the coattails of others doesn't have much of an identity. Here's two middle fingers just for you.
THEY MUST HAVE SOMETHING BECAUSE THEY ARE SO FAMOUS ALL AROUND THE WORLD. AND IM AN ABBA FAN FROM WHEN THE ORIGINAL ABBA STARTED OUT. THEY HAVE GOOD HARMONY AND STAGE PRESENCE BUT AS THEY SAY '' YOU CANT BEAT THE ORIGINAL ABBA''
Ok, they look like a little bit ABBA, however they DO NO NOT sound like them. Pay attention to the girls' vocals! I prefer the original. It's like the Beatles or the Bee Gees, no cover band could imitate them the same way so far! (GILBERTO SAUGEN --from Brazil)
No sé, no me gustan, pero tengo entendido que está aprobado por la señora Fältskog, entonces no me meto ni opino lo que me encantaría opinar, sólo digo que no me gustan
I've seen them yesterday in Zaandam...It was one big party!!! I love them!!! Shame though that my friend and I where the only one that bothered to dress up for the occasion.....Anyway...we danced our asses off!!!! Again: I LOVE THEM!!!!!
moshing on the keyboard does not make you a metal cover band of abba =/ gonna see these at sonisphere aswell lol fuck it, let's just start a huge mosh pit anyway!
Folks even if we could get the original ABBA on stage again, they would not be the same act as they were 30 plus years ago ! 35 years is never kind to any of us incuding ABBA . Lets remember them as they were in their prime . lsnt it neat that u tube makes it possible to do that . U Tube is the closet thing we will ever get to a time machine.
I saw Bjorn Again live and they were awesome. And as Benny said "Fans had better make the most out of Björn Again because that's the closest they are going to get to seeing ABBA. ABBA will never reform! Speaking live on Capital Radio London
One time I saw this act on TV, with a Queen Elizabeth lookalike dancing in a balcony. If you're gonna perform "Dancing Queen", might as well have one in the act.
As tribute groups go, Bjorn Again are top notch, though I think their original line-up was best.
I was lucky enough to see Abba themselves in concert in 1979 and Bjorn Again almost recreate the atmosphere. They have studied the real Abba very closely and it shows.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Quite frankly, they (the real "Bjorn Again" show, the one that got invited to the Royal Albert Hall UK, not the lesser knockoffs) are teriffic musicians and in may respects, they are BETTER than ABBA. The arrangements are rich and textured and they go so far as to mimic the original accents. We booked them in our 2500 seat theatre and they sold out the house -- young, old -- and everyone up on their feet singing along. The most fun show we have had in many a moon.
They're good, but nowhere near as good as the real ABBA. Bjorn Again is sloppy in their musicianship -- not quite in the pocket. They messed up big time 2:10. The girls are sure pretty, no doubt, but they don't have the raw power or subtlety of Agnetha or Anni-frid. I mean, the original singers would hit those high notes like Celine Dion or Whitney Houston.
Bjorn Again, U are good, but you need a little more practice so you're all playing the same song. & girls, you can put more into it.
yeah tigid, I noticed that, too! But they get a B for effort. I hope that they work out the bugs and get better. I actually wouldn't mind being in an ABBA tribute band. It would be great fun. I was so in love with Agnetha when I was a kid. They were an amazing, magical band who touched the child in all of us.
tegid, wonderful! Can I join? I play bass, guitar, keyboard, and can sing. Commuting may be a problem, though, as I live 8000 miles away from you. Get back to me won't you?
Actualy I didnt need to play keyboards to get the job! I grew my hair and beard and they took me on looks! Most of the Bennys before me mimed!!! You might have to bring sandwiches if you live that far away!!
Me want! Me want! OK I'll think about it. Where do I find pretty girls who can sing well and like ABBA a whole lot and who aren't married? Oh and does the band have to initially seek permission from Benny and Bjorn and pay a percentage to Polar music?
I met a truck driver yesterday who was picketing a "scab" (trucker who worked despite the union strike). Anyway, he LOOKED JUST LIKE GARTH BROOKS!!! I AM NOT KIDDING. It was uncanny -- that very same "thumb-with-a-cowboy-hat-on" face! Hahaha
@tegid699 I know this is an old post, but I think most people misunderstand what this is about. This band never has tried to replicate ABBA exactly in their mannerisms, there is supposed to be some fun sarcasm and over the top behaviour. Thats all it is :)
swissprincess1974 is right... they try to be too much abbaish, gestures, choreography and so on... too much of it... it is even much kitsch and schmaltzy than ABBA was...it is the only thing I don't like with them;)
Saw them last week for the first time and all I can say is WOW! how can an Abba tribute group be too much like Abba? - fantastic night out. In fact as someone said (on their website) if Abba were to reform they wouldn't be this good. Apart from the on stage comedy, they can actually knock out some good sounds.
lol - I did John and I only ever dance when seriously drunk. Actually, because of the dance (you'll know the one) Ring Ring will never be the same again. The missus telles me I was up too eagerly in response to any Dancing Queens in the house. I told her I'm comfortable with my sexuality ;-) great fun - highly recommended - oh and take your mates/colleagues is my advice.
I think Björn again is great, but they 'overdue' ABBA too much, they try to be like them to much!! Hahaha why does every cover band make Benny too 'Shaky'?

Oh for christ's sake!
They're a "tribute" band. Not the real thing. If you expect them to be the "real thing" you'll be disappointed.
If you expect them to do fantastic versions of ABBA's hits, you should be pleased.
Get real. ABBA will not play again. But Bjorn Again will continue to do the best renditions of their hits.

Beleive it or not I have Just joined an ABBA tribute band!!! There seem to be loads about but we play to packed out places, and it goes down great!!

Well, everyone around here wants to play AC/DC and Kenny Chesney or Carrie Underwood! Remember, I live in Redneck-ville, USA! Maybe I should defect.

We play mostly upper class hotels and for hen parties (girls getting married) they love it and it goes down a storm!!
It is probably the most commercialy successful thing I have done.
