I don't know of any really good BEGINNER guitars, but I'm a beginner guitar student and I really love the Takamine guitars. I use my dad's old Takamine G-240,and I love it. If the Takamines don't do it for you, you may wanna try a Fender guitar. There isn't a difference as far as I can tell with beginner and non-beginner guitars.

could you please do that second part more slowly? where it's that odd g chord and you change it a little to 6-2-3? your fingers r kinda too close together for me to tell >< i think it might help other beginners too if you go over that one in as much detail as you went over the first chord

i think the only difference is because they have a capo and i don't the simplified chords are: e minor if you be my star c major i'll be your sky then that repeats and it changes when the words go i live to let you shine the chords there are eminor, dmajor, cmajor the only other chord you have to know is G, and the weird G.. which is weird because your index finger is like a normal G expect 1 fret down the neck... so it goes weirdG,Gmajor,Cmajor "if you could skyrocket..."

=P I just relistened to boats and birds and that part ISNT in it! I imagined it when i was trying to figure out the song. and that's the way i thought it goes. the actual version just goes 5 2 3 5 2 3 5 2 3 5 2 3 instead of 5 2 3 4 1 2 5 2 3 4 1 (and you hold the 1 for two beats) you can play which ever you prefer. also i never really learned the interlude... maybe i should :)

what key is your guitar tuned to?

It's Standard Tuning. In Merideth's recording she uses the capo on the 3rd fret. So instead of starting on a Cadd9 chord she starts on a D#add9.

It's not as hard as I thought it would be, but I have trouble with keeping my hands in the right place on the guitar...or not touching the open note strings. Also, my guitar doesn't sound like yours...Maybe it's out of tune? I don't know, but I'm sure I'll get it...

My suggestion is either try to get a left handed guitar or try to play righty. Playing a guitar upside down, it's too hard for me. I would never recommend it to anyone. o.o But I'm sure with practice you could get used to playing righty.
