  • My favorite is his Baaaaaaaahh! @ 3:26

  • "Darling"

    "Yes sir?"

    "You are a complete ass"

    "Thank you sir"

  • leek is a positively disgusting word, not to mention the town

  • ha ha zing zang spillip

  • What a great collection of clips. I appreciate what you were trying to do with the aged look, but it really isn't working. Shame, because it's a fantastic montage. Any chance you could re-post without added effects?

  • @Unclealbertspants Well, unfortunately I don't have the clips in the original form on my PC anymore so unless I can stick this on a Movie Maker and take the sepia off from there, it looks unlikely unless I get a bit of free time in the near future (I'm kind of amateuristic at this stuff... :S)

  • Yes, quite agree with Britishwit. I always thought American comedy was a contradiction in terms ;-)

  • It could have done without the effects...

  • DON'T BE REVOLTING DARLING!

  • "I wouldn't lick a German if he was glazed in honey!"

  • Ah Tally Ho, Yippidy Dap and Zing Zang Spillip!

  • i'm really liking the sepia....its a clips video, not an episode !

  • I like it, its a bit diferent and well made. Keep it up!

  • "Well bugger me with a fish fork" lol

Still cant watch that but without pissing myself lol!

  • @SpinRichard32 Hope I'm not going to be responsible for your laundry bill then! ;)

  • dont be revolting darling

  • The "effects" really contribute absolutely nothing to this. What's the point?

  • @Salguine Again, I mentioned it in the description as me just trying something different, is that so bad?

  • @F50Kid Yes it is so bad, it looks fucking awful.

  • darling...yes sir...YOU ARE A CONPLETE ARSE!

  • the sepia is just perfect for the period.

  • Thumbs up if youre here because of phil jupitus

  • aw you missed the awesome scene about Melchett killing George's rabbit, that ones hilarious

    BAAH!!

  • Just wish there wasn't any sepia...I appreciate the feeling of the effect...any chance of the unedited version!? good work either way Darling ;)

  • @gallohad Sorry, the sepia was put on during the making of the video. Judging by one of the most liked comments it's a popular opinion so one day if I can get round to it I'll stick an unedited version up.

  • @F50Kid Excellent work either way mate :) I'll keep an eye out MEEEEEEH!!!

  • @youngian67 if that's the case, the world is in Serious trouble.

  • If what happens when you open your mouth is anything like what happens when you open your paintbox we'd be drenched in phlegm!

The best character in the series!!!!!!!!!

  • My favourite line is when he's told that there's something wrong with his fiancee.

"Good god, she's not Welsh is she?!"

  • @fomastephanovitch That. Is. Classic.

  • Melchett looks a little like Josef Stalin

  • Love the clips - hate the processing

  • great compilation!

    Don`t be revolting darling!

  • Well bugger me with a fishfork!

  • "YOU SHOT MY SPECKLED JIM!?!?!"

"Who is the judge, by the way?"

    "BAAAAAH!"

    "I'm dead!"

<3 Blackadder Goes Forth - Melchett favourite character =D

One you missed out which is, imo, a classic is where he is in front of the mirror with Capt. Darling, trying to recite what he will say to "Georgina" =D

  • Hmmm, it does look good in sepia :)

    5/5

  • I love it where he lumps Baldrick! LOL!

  • "i wouldnt lick a german if he was glazed in honey"

  • Dont be... REVOLTING!

  • Baaaaaaahhh!!!

  • Never Ignore A Poo Poo XD EPIC

  • Security isnt a dirty word blackadder

Now Crevice Is A Dirty Word

    OMFG Fucking Love it

makes me even prouder to be british

  • And as well ....

'There's been a security leek blackadder'

'Now leek is a positively disgusting word'

    :L so funny :P

  • MEEEEHEH!

    General Melchett FTW!!!

  • "...Don't be revolting, Darling!"

    Omg! I love Stephen!

  • 0:17 LMFAO Don't be so revalting Darling!!!

  • "Never ignore a pooh-pooh..."

Best line in all of Blackadder

    "...Don't be REVOLTING, Darling!"

  • ur a damn fine chap, not a PING PUSHING DESK SUCKING BLOTTER JOTTER like darling here

  • 'Pen', my dear chum, 'pen'

  • "Certainly not!!" "Thank you sir.." "BAEEEEEH!" I must have repeated that bit a hundred times.

  • I love Stephen Fry, he is utter genius.

  • @Ysaedda indeed a man of exceptional talent. Nobody could have carried off Melchett so well.

    'excellent natural cockney wit'..

  • as Stephen Fr would say...Never ignore a poo poo LMAO

  • Blackadder always has and always will make me proud to be British!! All you american comedys, friends, my family and all that rubbish is really desperate to be funny and is nowhere near as imppresive as Good ol' Blackadder!! Post on THIS thread if you agree!!

  • @britishwit I'm American and I completely agree with you, 100%.

  • @britishwit ....My Family is British...still rubbish though. Now if you meant Family Guy, I'd be with you 100%.

  • @britishwit

yes...nothing more to add is there?

  • @britishwit I agree completely, and I'm an American--Blackadder is hard to top!

  • @britishwit Can't say I totally agree, I still rate MASH as one of the greatest comedies ever made (especially considering how many episodes they made), and there are some truly God awful British comedies (Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps, Gimme Gimme Gimme etc)

  • @mkeysou812 Don't forget 'Allo 'Allo. Horrible.

MASH was very good at first, but went downhill and got sensitive and preachy. I'd rate Taxi as a better American series.

    I rate BA as #1 all-time, world-wide.

  • @britishwit Blackadder is a brilliant show, for sure. My favourite comedy series of all time. Stephen Fry is great as General Melchitt.

  • @britishwit yup i agree

  • @britishwit Can you at least not have broken english when you post a stuid, nationalistic comment like that?

  • Easily the funniest character of the Blackadder series...hilarious!!!

  • Those are great moments from the show.

    But... what's with the sepia?

  • comic genius

  • Absolute class!!!! now then..then now then now..now then!!

  • 'Security' isn't a dirty word Blackadder

'Crevice' is a dirty but 'Security' isn't

  • "Baaaaaaah" XD

  • Well bugger me with a fish fork! Stephen Fry's a legend

  • no sir NO SIR!

  • I recently read a biography of Field Marshal Haig that explicitly singled out Melchett as an example of how in recent decades Haig's reputation has been trashed. The bio took 600 pages to mount a very unconvincing case for Haig I might say, and most of Melchett's 'Haig-like' behaviour is spot-on.

  • "How do you do young lady heheheheheheehhehehehe"

  • Now then.

  • Stephen always hits people... in a bit of Fry and Laurie and in Blackadder:P

Blackadder, you are now head of operation Winkle.

Darling, you are a complete arse!

    LOVE STEPHIE

  • baaaaaaaaaaaaaa

general malchett is the best always that sheep noise he makes is so funny ;d

  • well bugger me with a fish fork!!! how funny,i love melchett.

  • Don't be revolting darling. I wouldn't lick a German if he was glazed in honey.

  • top programme

  • BAAAAAA!

  • lol @ "flem"

  • rowan atkinson..yes..main character in the whole show..in every clip O_o

  • What does General Melchet say in the first clip? I catch "tally ho, yippedy dap...."

  • I believe it's somewhere along the lines of "Tally ho, yippedy dap and zing zang spillip! Looking forward to bullying off for the final chukkah?"

No, I don't know what it means either, but it makes me laugh :D

  • Tally ho - let's go.

yippedy dap and zing zang spirit - hooray, willingness to join in.

    bullying off - getting started

final chukkah - the last fight

let's go and have fun. Are you ready to get started on the final fight?

  • "Well, tally-ho, yippee-de-dap and zing-zang zbillip! Looking forward to bullying orf for the final chukka?"

To "bully off" is to go somewhere, and a "chukka" is a period of play in polo; the sense Melchett is using it is to euphemise the "Big Push".

  • @F50Kid Can just about translate chukkah, its a period of play in polo. Rest is hilarious gibberish.

  • @jackorgan Weirdly enough, it's the gibberish I kind of understand! Hmmm...

  • @F50Kid and appreciate!

  • @F50Kid Sorry Jack, Melchett is referring to the big push, the strategy that culminated with the battle of the Somme. The first bit is gibberish, though.

  • @jackorgan Tally Ho is what you say when you spot the fox during a hunt. British pilots said it too when attacking the enemy.

  • @F50Kid It means are you ready for the big push?

  • It's a nice artistic interpretation. I'm not sure, is the sound volume going up and down? Much like what the troops in the trenches might have watched.

  • Yeah the volume changes because I used different clips from different places so the volume is all over the place

  • Brilliant

  • "Well bugger me with a fish fork!"

    Brilliant!

  • Oh I love a fair trial...my favorite

  • Can't see anything with that effect, a more subtle effect would be better

  • Hmm...seems to be a popular opinion. Unfortunately I'm too lazy at this time to re-edit it all and upload it. Sorry!

  • It's a bit difficult to see with the effect on, but nice choice of clips! BEHHH.

  • wts up wid the stupid effect

  • I did explain that in the video description. It's recreating the end credits effect. Plus I also think it makes the entire video look like some kind of documentary, so there you go.

  • In the courtroom episode.

Melchett: Errr, before we begin... Pass me that black cap, Darling. I'll be needing that!

    Classic stuff.

  • BAAAAAAH!!!!

  • i may go lick a german i think

  • i wouldn't lick a german if he was glazed in honey
