the thing is, this woman looks so beautiful and natural before all the makeup and distortion, but the poster in the street just says that we as a society are not able to appreciate real beauty, but rather understand beauty in terms of fakeness. It is all distorted in the mind!!!!

Look at 0:14 (before) and then compare 0:42 (after). Does anyone honestly believe that the after is better? The before is way more beautiful.

It definitely is much prettier by modern standards. I think it just displays what we see as 'beautiful' in modern standards is completely unattainable; you need to cheat to make it happen.
Our standards as a society are far too distorted.

We have power though. Even as individuals we can make change other people's perception of standards. The media has an impact but so do you. Lots of people don't really have a thought on the matter. If five people here at least explain this idea of standards to five other people, then there will already be 30 people who at least think about this stuff.
Standards may be distorted, but they can be changed ever so slowly by you.
