it really is important to have a job that allows u to be creative with ur looks such as growing a massive beard, and luckily i have that freedom, almost all my co-workers have beards including myself and i will continue to grow, so far i am 7 weeks in and i am very satisfied and exited to grow even more :) .. ps there should be an official beard growing season for all men instead of novembeard month :)

What do you do for a living that enables you to have a beard like that?

@Greenmarine6 - I'm a sculptor. Little bit easier to grow such a beard when in a non-conventional setting! Though if you work it out with your boss and be sure to keep it clean and tidy, i don't see why anyone would have a problem. Unless, of course, you work at Disney.

My girlfriend hates moustaches, and I live in Vietnam, where it's socially acceptable to call people ugly if you know them. (I'm a teacher here. Work with about 15 gorgeous vietnamese girls).

Anyway, if as you say, this is 21 months growth, I might as well kill myself now. I've been growing (occasionally trimming split ends) for easily over 2 years and have about 5 inches-ish. Mind you my beard is a LOT curlier than yours. Mine'll be a big long bush rather than long and sleek like yours. Envy!

Everyone's beard grows at different speeds and lengths. some people's beard will only grow so long then stop. I was lucky enough to have a beard that just kept growing! Check out Jack Passion's beard for a real treat! Google his name!

here is something i have been wondering about beard growing, When starting do you keep the neck shaved? or let it all grow?

I grow my beard for about a month and then trim just the very bottom of the neck line. Just a slight bit off the bottom makes the beard look much more neat.
