  • Alas, this is only a 'shadow' of a former great voice.

  • I am 99% positive that this is from Natalie's CD "Airs d'operas francais" recorded with one of her fave conductors, Michel Plasson, the chorus "Les Elements", and the Orchestre National du Capitole de Toulouse. This was done in 2003 and was jokingly referred to by Natalie in an interview as her "comeback recording".

What is this doing in a CD of French arias? On the Same CD are something by Offenbach, and something by Donizetti. Tthese people worked in France and produced opera in French.

  • @MrHbc3 By the way I have that CD, like it a lot and agree with arpeggio1358. if you put together her voice, acting ability and technique, she is at least ONE OF the best around. IMHO the best, at least with her new voice with its lower pitch. I liked some of her earlier stuff, but the Queen of the NIght isn't one of my favorite characters, and the best of her Olympias were fantastic, but mostly because of her acting. So also with that bootleg Morgana from Handel's Alcina on You Tube.

  • What a marvelous video from Dessay! She is one of bhe best round. Nobody can equal hre voice, acting ability, and technique.

  • she also sang the cats duet last year! :-P

  • @DessayBestSingerII REALLY????? With who? Do you have the recording?

  • @operalover9001 at a French TV show called "Tandem" with a non-opera singer...and if I had the recording it would be on YouTube ^^

  • 1 person didn't like this! i wonder why? (see ratings)
