You can believe in the myth of Che of which Castro has been the greatest contributor of forming. Don't worry about me being a fool; I lived under Castro where I actually did believe the myth of Che for most of my life as we were never given all the facts. I am not saying that the idea of Che is bad but Che the real man is not the perfection so many blindly follow. I am well read, I am not one sided as so many are and I no longer choose to blindly follow a myth.

You are taking his quotes out of context to prove something that isn't there. So he's racist now? Is that why he had both black and mexican friends? Is that why he fought alongside them in the Cuba and in the Congo?
He had an incredibly demanding personality in which he was critical of every single person and the world in general. He was the hardest on himself though.

He may not have been an out and out racist but he was an out and out collectivist , which means, in practice, that a man is to be judged, not by his own character and actions, but by the characters and actions of a collective group. The same is true for people who uphold racism to judge a man's values and character.

Because he wanted to get rid of material incentives and replace them with moral incentives. The biggest gripe he had with humanity was greed or selfishness, especially when it came with the exploitation of others.
Success as in how much money you have when you die? Only the people who care about money and proving their own worth to everybody agree with that statement. So if I don't have a mansion, big business, and a handful of cars I failed? I have my family and loved ones.

Cuba has free health care, free housing, and free education. Is everything perfect? No, but guess what? Neither is the United States, Russia, China or any other country for that matter.

Thank you for being informed. Watching a movie that never showed Che doing the evil things he did is NOT "facts". So many people idolize the idea of Che never bothering to get the real facts on the man. I get frustrated trying to educate people on the reality of who Che was. So when I see something written that actually is factual and speaks to the evil things he did, I find a small amount of hope that all is not lost. Thank you!!

In a letter to Hilda (1st wife) written from Sierra Maestra Dear Old Woman: Here in the Cuban jungle, alive and bloodthirsty. These words are never said in documentaries or movies on Che. There were no real trials, they were all "found" guilty not innocent.

You can believe in the myth of Che of which Castro has been the greatest contributor of forming. Don't worry about me being a fool; I lived under Castro where I actually did believe the myth of Che for most of my life as we were never given all the facts. I am not saying that the idea of Che is bad but Che the real man is not the perfection so many blindly follow. I am well read, I am not one sided as so many are and I no longer choose to blindly follow a myth.

Oh, no doubt about it. Che was far from perfect. He was a man of ideals, great ideals mind you, but horrid means of execution. He had the passion of Lenin, but lacked the ability and tact. Did people die? Yes.
Was Che a bloodthirsty murderer who slaughtered for pure enjoyment and wanted nothing but to kill as many as possible? Unfortunately I cannot idly follow the Batista sympathizers and American media THAT much.

I generally hear positive things or at least 2 perspectives on Che from them. As for the Batista sympathizers, I can't relate to that as I was born under a Castro system & have no love or hate for the man. Che the man was one hell of a man at that. He was not without flaw, but he was a martyr who died for his ideals. He was also an athiest, so he had no rewards waiting for him after death like so many christian martyrs had (or at least believed they had). To give up a comfortable upper middle class lifestyle to devote your life to your devotion of the less fortunate is a worthy deed in my book. Although there are still those who wish to refute Mother Teresa as well =)

Again, I don't care if you wish to make Che your hero, we all need those. I only have issue with those who see Che as the second coming & NOT the man he was. I lived too many years with Che the myth & now see too many things done by Che the man that are against my core believes. Through history there are many seen as heroes by some while to others they may be seen as evil. I've chosen to not make Che my hero, I see more of his flawed ideals. Nothing you or I say will change our perspectives.
