I doubt that he is using the same macs with the same OSX ..
SSDs are obviously faster but not that much..
When the two macbooks are put aside, it appears that they are not real (notice the glossy black frame). He is not doing the test on the same machines :@@@
@KhaledMahmoud90 This SSD, albeit slow, has around 10 times the fourK read/write speed, if not more, compared to the 5400 HDD. Plus you can't even begin compare the rand access times of SSDs and HDDs. There's a reason why these things are selling you know
@ARproxc yes! malaysia still very lousy, even required for a broadband network customer service help still have to wait more than one week ( P1 WiMAX Malaysia )
True, and your raptors can beat it at 4KB random write. However, considering it's a single drive and that it can actually be used in a laptop, you can't come anywhere close to this performance with HDDs in a laptop.
But like he says in the video, these are clearly not the fastest SSDs around. They are second generation JMicron (same as in OCZ Core V2 and Apex / Gskill Titan), and may experience pauses and freezing during times of high random writes (installing updates and drivers, updating, etc)
The performance of my computer has definitely increased, but the hard drive is still the bottle neck of my PC. I am not disappointed, but I'm also not extremely enthused. It is worth the price, but if I was to buy another SSD, I would probably dish out the extra few hundred dollars to get one with faster read and write.

Thats pretty expensive compared to the Seagate hybrid ssd I am going to buy off of Newegg.com and its 500gb and I am also getting 4 gb of ram.

Would be more interesting to compare it to an Intel X25. :)
And I also heard that the Kingstons sometimes have problems with "hiccups" when you write to the disk.

I love solid states but I do think that the hard drive truly isn't THAT slow...on any computer Safari will load in about 2 seconds...
