  • @elhamimpresario dude i have to agree they are hard, just the mix culture technique..i want to master it!

  • @IMprettyTO yea me too.. :( gotta find sum free time to really practice the shit..

  • Pretty sad that there is a lot of hate on the comments section to such a good 311 song, or any 311 song for that matter. Shame shame..

  • probably the work 311 song ive ever heard

  • @Mrawsomeman22 you're probably just a total bitch.

  • this album would be sooooooo much better if ron saint. produced it. instead of bob " ruined metallica" rock.

  • Tim's solo in this and n "wake your mind up" are nasty.

  • the fans of 311 mean business!

  • Finding it so bizarre Can this all be real, orbiting a star. Finding it too intense to be a coincidence. I don't think you gotta let go of common sense. Can this all be real right now? Summmer Never Ending Summer that's our time. We do it all the Time..

  • totally pumped to hear them play this song today!

    three eleven, three three eleven!

  • my teacher worships these guys had to check out this video there really good

  • @nara070690 Your teacher isn't alone

  • These guys are my favorite band of all time. I've seen them 3 times. I have one of Chad's drum heads that I got at a show at the Cains Ball Room in Tulsa OK. I've listened to them ever since Unity.

  • The only part that's amazing in this song is towards the ends..

Someone said that it's similar to metallica? The fck no it isn't...it you like Wake Your Mind Up by 311 then you kno what im talking about

  • fuckin 4 20 tomorrow!!!!!!!!

  • i remember chanting 311 when they came to town for warped tour WAY back in the day. its funny they finally put an intro for it now

  • the best song on the album for sure!!!

  • i've listened to this 40 times today no lie lol i can't wait for summer...311 is the best band alive!!!!

  • this song has a heavy influence by bob rock when tim just dives into that 80's rock solo it just seemed way to metallica for my taste but other songs like india ink, daisy cutter and jackpot are good

  • your right man, that's the only part of the song i don't like

  • I love this entire song from beginning to end. I really love tim's solo it. But we all have different tastes and opinions. India ink and jackpot are definitely great too. I also really loe 2 drops in the ocean.

  • @turbomaxmm86

    1) You act as if this is a bad thing. I think just about anyone would take a comparison to Metallica from the 80's as a compliment, especially 311.

    2) You act as if 311 has never busted out into a solo before (see "Wake Your Mind Up").

    3) Tim Mahoney is wayyyy too good of a guitarist to just sit and strum rhythms. I wish he had more solos than he does to be honest.

  • @OUTFOXEM now i know tim is an amazing guitarist and you are right about the need for more solos but to me the solo and really the whole album is a huge influence from bob rock and what he did with metallica, and in my opinion 311 isnt that kind of band

  • 311 = < 3

  • ok, well, m only 15 and i own every album that 311 has out, including the hard to get ones like omaha sessions

  • @TheTctitan13 With you there(:

  • @TheTctian hell yea dude 311 is the shit

  • dude me too...i'm 15 and i've got all of their work even a couple live concerts...it's crazy listening to their bootleg stuff compared to their studio work...especially the difference between Do You Right with the lyrics and stuff

  • this is one of my favorite tunes from uplifter. my favorite part of this song is when Tim starts shredding on the guitar.

  • i really like this song.

one of my favorites from UPLIFTER.

when i first heard the album i scanned through every song giving about a half ass listen and i didnt really get into it. but after listening to it a few more times over i found myself liking it ALOT. Ive listened to 311 since about 1994 and im really glad to say that they can still make bad ass music that i greatly appreciate. TBH DONT TREAD ON ME was kind of a disappointment so im glad that i like UPLIFTER. 311 STILL WRECKS!

  • you've got some mixed up views buddy

  • I've been a 311 fan since 91, own Music, Grassroots, Live, Blue Album, Transistor, Soundsystem, From Chaos, Evolver, Don't Tread On Me, and I'll buy this album. for them they should be able to honestly say they achieved what they wanted. a truly good time/uplifting/rocking album (and wicked b-sides) with help from legendary producer Bob Rock. what's the problem :D?

  • lol, sorry to type so much- leave you with what LoudeBoy said 4 months ago on this post- The most positive band ever- I owe them a lot for what their music has done for me.

Sorry if the following sounds rather negative, it was originally in response to Drewsky referring to this album as a line in the sand between "new" and "old" school... if you are truly a 311 fan, and are newer, and love the shows, I've got great stories for you from the early to late 90's. Welcome!!!!

  • lol, anyway, if the band wants me to feel "old school," and now that I live in Dallas (I miss North Jersey, it was and still is the hub to all the best shows on the planet), come play The House of Blues 3 nights, ya know, standing room only, Admit One--- Instead of the seated (unless you pay extra for pit area) and bought out Yellow Pages Center. I mean, c'mon. Do you really think 311 was just the sound? It was culture. Then it merged with a bigger one. Again, no hate. Its just the reality.

  • To all my original grassrooted family, who remember things like "perplexy" and "down wit tha hive tribe," the happy slam dance pits where we were all relatively the same age!, to smokin j after j in tha pit, through the haircuts, and all that old school feel. You see, we felt like we owned it more. its no hard feelings, you just can't go back. Its that simple. Don't water down what it was by pretending it can come back. I cherish those times. Thats why I still listen. Its a lovely circle...

  • Drewsky, drewsky, drewsky... I will always have a place in my heart for 311... but please don't act like they can reinvent an album that draws a line in the sand between old school and new school. they would have to invent a time machine. We don't hate the new school.... we just know, in hindsight, there truly is no turning back. Its called evolving.

It will never be what it was. It can't. the grass has sprouted to trees. you can't revert.

  • i think 311 foreshadowed the realease of Uplifter in the song "uncertain" from evolver. "How could something well-guided turn out to be divisive?" This album was well-guided in production and talent, but has ended up becoming the most divisive album for 311 fans. Uplifter drew a line in the sand between old school fans and new school, which side are you on?

  • c'mon u guyz we all have one thing in common. we all like 311 so lets calm down and listan to this bad ass song!

  • I wish it was summer again. This is my new summer song.

  • If you watch closesly the solo ends at 3:11

  • @IFDIgital That is so fuckin sick!!!! AHAHAHAHA!!! GENIUS! GOTTA LOVE 311!

  • u dont know shit about 311

  • u dont know shit if u dont like their new shit their old shit is amzing and so is this they took it to a whole new level theres so much feeling in this cd but ur too fucking ignorant to see that if u were a true fan u would accept what they are and where they go with their music

  • 311 is the best band ever.

  • NO SUMMER IS OVER :(

    back to shitty school :(

  • can this all be real? legit

  • this song is the motha fucking shit!!!!

  • fuck u bitch!

  • "you"

  • greenday is fucking shit compared to 311

  • well i like them both so back off, we dont all have 2 like the same stuff

  • @Jmcgraw76 green day? ha ok dude, come back with a better band...listening to green day makes me want to curl up in a corner and cry like a little girl...in other words its depressing...there's more to music than power chords... 311 for life get with it son...

  • @Jmcgraw76 hahahaha any dipshit who compares them should go commit suicide after removing his testicles. completely different band. ones amazing. one sucks big fat floppy nigger dick

  • @Jmcgraw76

green day doesen't deserve to be in the same sentence as 311...

  • @Jmcgraw76 almost every bnd is shit compared to 311 :P

  • @frankthetank1996 Except Chuck Norris

  • @Jmcgraw76 false.

  • who would even compare them??

  • @Jmcgraw76

no comparison WHATSOEVER! 311 is superior in every single way!!!

  • @Jmcgraw76 u cant even compare greenday to 311

  • @Jmcgraw76 you cant even compare the two lol

  • hey you is bettah

  • i love this song!!

  • wow this song sounded like it belongs on the "sound system" album, another good one from 311

  • totally man. this album sounds like don't tread on me meets soundsystem.

  • you rock

  • Lmao this song is a bit too cheerful for Pro Wrestling. Definitely digging the riffs and the solo.

  • The guitar solo blows my mind.

  • oh man, this song is out of control. needs to be their next single.

  • KAYLEEN

  • these guys are sick. they been around for a long time like 20 years. im only 17 im glad their still around and many more years to come.

  • This woulda been a good theme for WWE Summerslam.

  • oh for sure, i thought the one on "wake your mind up" was the best to date till I heard this!!

  • if u dont like 311 ur gay

  • if you still use "gay" as a derogatory term, you're not allow to like 311

  • c'mon don't be gay dude

  • If you try to force your opinions on other people as some sort of hypocritical way to spread "tolerance", you're not "allow" to post.

  • @sunfishsailing189 If you like 311, you're gay.

Eh? See what I did there?

  • @sunfishsailing189

that is so not a 311 thing to say

  • @sunfishsailing189 i'm gay and i love 311 more than anything in the world, so if you don't like 311 youre straight. ps you must be a bad 311 fan they sing about peace and unity not calling people gay fucking faggot chubby chasing bitch ass kid.

    also jmcgraw76, fuck greenday!

  • @STLx311x420x247

    How about this:

If you don't like 311, you have no soul.

  • @STLx311x420x247 wow.. owned.

  • @sunfishsailing189 agreed 110% haha :)

  • I totally agree, this has become my summer jam! best song on the album by far ^^

    love it

  • 4th of July in ATL was so awsome =) ty 311

  • Saw them last night at Irvine Ampitheatre.. i'm still speechless. they were fuckin' AMAZING. not to mention i was with my girl in the front row! good times! never ending summer!!!

  • The intro should have dragged out another minute

  • I agree, it's like these are two songs welded together (seems like they did that a lot on this album) I like the first part way better. Still best song on the album though. Wish they would've opened with it in Minnesota

  • Saw them in JerZee last month and they tore it up

  • yeah in maryland they were amazing!

  • Saw them 7/7 in STL. Fucking amazing show. It was cool to see everyone lighting up when they came on. :D

  • They opened with this 07-03-09 in Charlotte. They are great live!

  • Comment removed

  • Dude I was in ATL for the fourth as well, kick ass show man! awesome drum solo right?

  • word that whole concert was sick...especially the fireworks at the end with hendricks guitar of the national anthem!! totally sick

  • Opening with this song in ATL was sick!!!

disappointed they didnt open with homebrew...it was 4th of july and all. But i love them live in concert!! and this was a good opening song too.

  • You have a pop mentality and 311 is definately not pop. Lady Gaga?? Definately not in the same category as 311. Been a fan since '93 and they've been uplifting me ever since!!! Go teeny bopping with Hanna Montana much??

  • D0C yeah maybe they did rock out harder NEARLY 20 years ago! Bands evolve, and these guys absolutely STILL rock, I mean did you listen to the end of this song? 311 has created an extensive collection of music over 2 decades and still stayed consistent to their style and beliefs. Clearly your're not a true 311 fan, move along.

  • well said.

  • These guys were AWESOME at Northerly Island! (Chicago)

  • funky fresh loud.. classic 311

  • Nick, SA, Tim, and Chad were born in 1970. P-nut is the youngest born in 74 I think. Grassroots, Music, Omaha Sessions, Transistor, the Blue Album, Soundsystem... now THOSE were badass album's. I miss the old days...

  • me too!

  • this song makes me want to join a cult of pot smokers. yeah. that's how good it is

  • Who gives a fuck what his age is...311 still rocks. People are so fucking picky...just rock out or get the fuck out..

  • just got back from the show in chicago!!!! one of the best shows ive ever been too. played for over 2 hrs. they started their show with this song. gets you pumped.!!!!!!

  • Saw these guys on the 8th in Seattle. Fucking amazing. I got a pick from tim.

  • did they play a lot from the new album?

    did they play golden sunlight

  • Yeah. They played 21 songs, go to thier website.

  • This is the first song off Uplifter that I actually like. The others so far were decent, but this is the 311 that I love. Great song.

  • Thank you! I thought it was only me. It is a great song.

  • word, I'm only 24 seconds in and I had to stop and start again with more volume haha!
