i'm in awe of anyone who can run this race congrats on your finish!!! (granted i know this is late but i just saw this video!) also love that your support team has a Ragnar shirt on! this is completely inspirational! :)
i think i remember checking out the 2011 badwater roster and saw a 21 year old and was like wuuuuuuuuuuuut?! tried to find them on fb immediately just to see what badass looked like:P if you are that age thats amazing bro
@b1l2u3n4t5 Thank you! Actually, I was 20 at the time I ran the race, but I'm 21 now. I'm not the youngest person to have run it, either. Nick Hollon did it at age 19 a couple years ago.
Hi Ben. Great job in the Badwater !!! I saw you on the course, I was there spectating. Are you hoping to compete in the Badwater again? So what was the reason why you got into ultramarathons?
@gregbaker777 I'd love to do Badwater again. Maybe not next year, but sometime. I got into ultramarathons after hearing David Goggins give a presentation. I wanted to test myself and improve my focus and performance in day-to-day life. I find that ultra-running strengthens the will, and that improves the quality of life.
@surfbum188 I started doing ultramarathons about two years before Badwater. Before that, I hadn't done anything (my first race was the LeanHorse 100-mile; I've never done a half-marathon/marathon/50k/50mi/100k/etc.). I did about six or seven 100+ mile runs before Badwater, and I crewed there the year before I ran it. It's tough to get accepted into Badwater, but it can be done with a few years' experience, or a couple really good 100-mile times.
@gregbaker777 Hello; My name is Ben Clark. I'm from North Dakota (USA). I was runner #78 (placed 57th overall) in this year's Badwater Ultramarathon. Thanks for the comment!
