Tutorial: Lightening Black Eyebrows

I have natural light brown hair but dark eyebrows. It doesn't look so bad but I'm getting blonde highlights soon. I'd like to try and bleach my brows. I hope this will work well and not turn my brows orange. I used facial bleach years ago for a little peach fuzz stash but my skin burned almost immediately. I don't remember the brand. I will surely do a patch test this time.

Thank you for this! I just did this and couldn't be more PLEASED to get rid of my black eyebrows as my hair is naturally blonde! Now I have nice brown eyebrows which match :o) I used Jolen facial bleach as its all I could find and left the bleach on for 8 minutes and its spot on (my brows were as dark as the girls in the video) :o)

if you have small, light black hairs around your eyebrows.. and you bleach the thicker part, wont the small, lighter ones become white?.. i have a dark complexion

Oooh, why would you want to do that?? You have beautiful black eyebrows!! You could also lighten them using lightbrown mascara, or/and you could use tweezers to shape them . I have nauturally dark and thick eyebrows and brown hair.. But I have been bleeching my hair blond for ages.. Now I just don't want to be a blond anymore!! So tomorrow I'm gonna dye my hair brown, and then i'm never gonna touch hair dye again LOL It's better to leave the eyebrows "au naturel" as well..

oooh love your brows. i did this before with Sally's too. Once my dark eyebrows started growing in I was scared to "over-lighten" the stuff that i had lightened. But i gotta try this again since i lighten my hair and my black eyebrows, ehh ain't cutting it. Mine only took about like 5 minutes, everyone's different so check on them frequently to avoid the orange look...yeah i learned this the hard way too, LOL! thank god for makeup! thanks!

@moroccan31 Yes of course, like I said I just use that because of the coupon and because Ive been using it for years and it works great, If you do ty I reccommend leaving it for 3-4min then check the color.

@OhEmGawd No when I do it it looks like highlights no obvious line of separtation, also when bleaching it doesnt lighten every hair, its kinds weird how it does that, but it works perfectly

I'm Inidian and have thick black eyebrows but very light skin, and its great that my eyebrows are thick, but sometimes they look tooo thick and bold but then i bleached my brows and they looked fantastic!

I wish "they" would allow dark eyebrows back in. I don't like this new trend of bleaching brows. Mine are black and I want them to lighten to dark brown only, not light brown. I still want them dark, and I fear I will end up with over lightened brows. 8 minutes is a long time, what if my hair takes quick and I end up with super un-natural looking light brows, or brows with red tones? Yikes!

I have to reapply if I havent bleached in a while because it doesnt take in 8 minutes. It usually takes me abut 12 minutes for them to turn brown. I like bleaching in the summer. Sally is the best one I have tried so far.

@barbiedefined No...here on youtube! My beautyschool didnt teach us much about make-up. Really they just explained what the different types of make-up are, everything most girls already know about makeUp...I got jipped at my school :(

@chicandtease haha, I tweeze my brows almost daily, its crazy how fast my hair grows, but I also wax above my brows about every 2 weeks. But mainly I tweeze and only bleach to lighten
