  • Just beautiful sushi craftsmanship. wow.

  • Isn't that Stresman from Nodame Cantabile?

  • Fukui-san?! Dude, shut the fuck up.

  • うーん・・・挑戦者の方がいいな

  • this dubbed version really reminds me of kung pow

  • Extra large rice balls. They're that big. That's what she said

  • these guys shud dub anime...

  • I enjoy the fact that this battle uses almost the whole hour for actually cooking the food. Plating is important, but not a third of the judgement important.

  • これが鉄人?(-_-;

    やっぱり道場六三郎の時代が一番良かったな。

  • haha...Don't mention it...ever...

  • LOLS VIETNAMESE STYLE SUSHI !!!!

  • yea why does morimoto own restaurants in new york...seriously you don't know..58 thumbs up fail...but still americans are fat grease eaters too...but fine cuisine is fine cuisine so your stereo type is flawed

  • That name for the sushi....heh heh, I can imagine why the Food Network doesn't air this often.

  • "So I am calling this 'Shodi Shozo'!"

"Oh ho ho ho hooo...*exasperated sigh* "

God I just want to puch all of their pretentious little faces. >:0

  • Thats what is missing from the American version, someone yelling FUKAI SAN!! every two minutes with the excitement of drunken sports fan. Followed by a uninspired response.

  • the only thing that i dont like is always the judges

  • FUKAI SAN! yes?

    FUKAI SAN! go ahead!

  • It's in episodes like this when I cry for not being a celebrity in Japanese famous enough to be one of the tasters. Really, even one episode would be enough!

  • @2:52 "FUKAI SAN!!" "yes? (in the most unsatisfied way imaginable)"

  • I love the tone in which the guy says "fuki san" (sounds like he's invented something)

  • SPICY AHI FTW

  • i dislike how the stupid americans are dubbed over there amazing people.

  • ah viet rice paper didnt see that coming lol

  • FUKUI-SAN!!

  • @R3ZA yes, Ota?

  • @omegamaxwell LOOK AT THEY WAY THE CHALLENGER IS PREPARING THE SUSHI! IT MAKES ME CRY ITS SO BEAUTIFUL.

  • @R3ZA so fuuucking annoying...

  • 8 people really hate sushi and good food.

    Shame

  • going to a sushi place this weekend

  • AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHH!! I WANT THAT SUSHI! I love sushi, and this is giving me cravings. However, the only place to get sushi nearby is a Japanese-Chinese buffet. (It's a good one.)

  • what is going on?

They are soo serious about their ingrdients.Makes me feel ashamed that my diner comes straight out of the fridge, into the oven and done.....=(

  • shari-soto ala morimoto!

  • ふくいさん!ww

  • so serious!

    "ganbatte ne. ganbatte ne. ganbatte."

    heehee.

  • FUKUI-SAN! YES? FUKUI-SAN! OKE

  • ganbatte ganbattee ganbatte

    i lol'd

  • man those nigiri's are hard to shape. I've tried several times and failed miserably. The rice always either apart or bulge out at the bottom instead of tucked nicely under the fish.

  • I'd said this many times before and i will say it again. "This is way better than Iron Chef America"

  • @@howard205 I've also agreed many times before... The original is the best.

  • Fat man: your face is calm?!

Takenaka: MMm Cause i'm an actor.

  • It's amazing that they can make it look so pretty in just a short time

  • FUKUI-SAN!!

  • This is food porn.

  • sushi rice risotto,i tried to make it and it was good

  • the ice cream was a gift.

  • I don't like the personality of Naoto Takenaka I know he made fun of disabled people.

  • Reading these comments makes me wonder: Why can't we just enjoy food...

  • As a fan of the American show, it's really interesting to see Morimoto back when he was a young renegade.

  • ah, part 4 is called "presentation of dishes" under the iron chef sushi battle series. From the same uploader, TigerPatamon

  • where is part 4? :(

  • I'd sell my own soul just to have one of the Iron Chefs be my personal chef.

  • it's good to know that the old sushi way hasnt disappeared XD

  • America = Main course of grease, with grease soup, and a side of grease.

Japan = All natural, baby. Raw fish, sea vegetables, and small portions. Delectable!

No wonder america is dying. In more ways than one.

  • eerrm, the first point is true..

but, raw stuffs not really.. it's good at some point but too much, also not good..

  • actually raw food if done right is very healthy. with the way meat is prepared in america, it's not a good idea unless you raise your own animals and keep everything very clean. sushi fish however is kept clean and is okay to eat raw. and is packed with healthy essential oils.

  • i laugh at your ignorance.

  • I for one agree with you. many other cultures have healthier foods than americans. we americans find it hard just to eat well at all.

  • most of the fish eaten in japan is cooked its not like people eat sushi everyday..

  • @GrowABrainstem Your comment is completely disrespectful and has nothing to do this video.

  • @GrowABrainstem you've obviously never had good american food

  • @enishicz28 good american food has grease. lol

  • @GrowABrainstem Why don't you grow a brain and keep you're opinions to yourself.

  • @GrowABrainstem

you've obviously never eaten a AAA steak

  • @GrowABrainstem come on bro you dont have to make fun of american food, i mean like seriously, and talking about america dying...why cant we all just love the fucking food these guys are whipping up?? this is probably how wars star..."your food sucks man" "heyyy fuck you man fuck you" who gives a fuck whose food is better they are both on earth lets just enjoy the shit :D

  • @KidKosmoJDM I agree, I mean yes some of america has way to much deep fried food how ever other parts of america are really healthy with out going to crazy over it, . oh and to brainstems about japan all natural, do you realize how many snacks they have in japan?? its insane

  • @GrowABrainstem There is no such thing as "American cuisine." You can thank the plethora of food styles in Europe for the greasy shit you see in America.

    Blame Germany.

  • @GrowABrainstem SHUT THE FUCK UP with you shitty stereotyping bullshit. you need to go explore the REAL america, not the U.S the piece of shit media describes. and learn a little dipshit.

  • @GrowABrainstem I very much doubt it.

  • @GrowABrainstem I am American and it is sad to say I agree with you. People in America are dying because we get in to big a hurry and do not do as the Japanese do and eat right. Instead we go to the fast food and call it a good meal.

  • '@GrowABrainstem Didnt the japanese invent deep frying with tempura? not so "all natural"

  • @boogster123321 You don't know anything

Tempura is not originaly from japan

    LOL

  • @HydeCoolLaruku youre right it was shown to the japanese by the portuguese, but still the dish is apart of japanese cooking.

  • @boogster123321 im sorry cooking technique not dish

  • @GrowABrainstem Well that's not entirely true. There are fatty greasy foods in both cultures. I don't see why people have to go out of their way to diss America. I mean hell we ain't great but we aren't all that bad. Don't make crazy generalizations like that. People don't respond well.

  • @GrowABrainstem Oh and as a side note America ranks number 9 on the list of the worlds fattest countries.

  • @dangerkatz That's a funny statistic, coz nowhere in the world do they have as many grossly obese people than in the U.S. America is the fattest by a long shot.

  • I think is Fukui

    FUKUSI-SAN!!!! I love that

  • this is too epic for my eyes!

  • Foohd :D

  • fuckin epic morimoto!!!

  • i love it when they said "FUKU SAN!"

  • His name's Kenji Fukui. But sometimes Ohta sounds like he says "Squee san"

  • i just love how he said don't mention it at 8:04 it was like i'm epic your not

  • There are two types of Vietnamese paper, dried one for spring roll and fresh one for Banh cuon

  • FUKU-SAN...I'm important

  • FUKUSAN !!!! OMFG

  • fukisan!!!! lol

  • god i love sushi

  • well i, japanese saw both dubbed and original. i think they did great job in transating and voicing on dubbed version. unlike some old japanese anime dubs with careless, no respect jobs, i can see dubber's efforts and respect to the original on this one. good work!

  • MORE EPICCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC

  • Masahara Morimoto is a genius

The man is so inventive with food

  • damn...kill these ppl with 1 hour that too short

  • I LOVE THIS SHOW!!!!!!!!!!

  • Takanaka seems too nervous and not too confident over Nakazawa, his face expression and the comment he made over Nakazawa worried me. And I like how they said "ganbatte ne" XD

  • its look like they are announcing in a NBA match

  • i would rather if they spoke in japanese and we had subtitles

  • ironcheffans(dot)info just uploaded the original Japanese version. I'm watching both at the same time. lol

  • I agree, I'd rather hear their own voices.

  • gambattene, gambatte, gambaaaaatteee!!!

  • That's ganbatte (do your best).

  • sushi ice cream only morimoto and sakai can create that type of desserts

  • too bad the ice-cream didn't harden in time

  • OH now i get it..thx btw..juz curious

  • can anyone tell me wat "hikisan!!"

    means????

  • Hi. He said Fukui-san. Fukui is the name of the anchorman, and san is Mr.

  • Exactly, hahaha. Especially the descriptive subtitles - such as when they explain certain aspects of Japanese culture. I've learned to read those very fast. XD

  • Well said, very well said

  • If memory serves me correctly, the male judge is the composer of the truely masterpiece opening music for anime "The Flower Child Lunlun". Please do check out the music video on Youtube, and burn it into your memory! Allez chercher!

  • your face is calm?? really

  • i remember watching this every midnight,on foodnetwork

  • Japanese IRON CHEF was the "original" and others were just adaptation and versions derived from the original, so nobody does it better than the original. I missed this show as much as others do.

  • Thanks guys for putting up your comments on this show.

  • I love how the commentator says

    "FUKUSAN!"

    every time.

  • I know, it's very amusing. And he sounds so bubbly

  • SKUZAAA!!

    GO!!

    xD

  • skuzaa...? :P

    j/k

I love the Japanese version so much better. I miss it :(

  • this show is awsome !!!!!!!!!!!!! i do not like the american

  • damn how old is this episode lol...hahah and i sooooo feel for u animequeen.. i want sushi

  • Dang it. I want sushi BAD

  • This is in Japan translated to English right?

  • I live in the states, and it is thanksgiving. I don't want turkey now, I need my sushi fix!

  • for crying out loud, why not give that great scholar some more credit?!; it's sad how he has to ask to be permitted every time he wants to speak, when he obviously has all the answers. that man took us through the whole reality: if it wasn't for him we wouldn't have known 90% of what went on in the cooking here. why should they rank people based on tradition when reality obviously proves otherwise? that man should not have to ask for permission to speak.

  • Its a totally different culture. seems like the Japanese are more polite and have a much more complex social structure. I am sure there is no disrespect intended

  • LOL, ur comment made me laugh out loud. i'm sure u meant it earnestly but it was too funny not to laugh.

  • craving sushi even more now.... YUM

  • it is more interesting this way....educational/dramatic

  • "extra large rice balls"

I don't know why but i laughed for about 3 minutes after hearing that

  • Id rather have it in jap nd have english subtitles. nd it is kinda annoying hearing it. XD

  • I like hearing it in english. Reading subtitles would distract me from what i really want to see, the cooking.

  • Just be glad Ala Cuisine isnt dubbed! That man could make horse apples and cow pies seem appetizing with his dialogue.

  • With little practice, reading subtitles is really fast and doesn't really distract from the action.

  • Mayonnaise, classic Japanese ingredient. lol

  • taking notes on how to make that tamagoyaki...^ ^

  • *drools* it looks sooo good! iron chef is the best~ ^_^ arigato for uploading!

  • no problem bud, im just sharing the love =]

  • FukuZA

    Yes?

  • "hung hung, i cant wait to eat hung hung"

  • For all of my life, i love sushi. And this video is a must for those who wanna make some home-made sushi, or for those who wanna go to some sushi class or school. ;)

  • the TRANSLATORS are the ones with the "yakee english" and i honestly enjoy listening to their comentary.........

  • that omlet is beautiful!

  • i battle any iron chef any time ^_^

  • god im so hungry for their sushi ahh it looks so good!!

  • me likey

  • haha the ice was still soft XD

  • hey is that one ( who say do your best in japan) from the Hey Hey Hey Show ?

  • looking at all that meat...I wonders how many vegetarian do they have in Japan.

  • DAMN!

    The gourd-shavinf ice-cream melted!

    NOOOOOOOO!

  • FUKUI-SAN!!!!!!!

  • ahras is a smart one and look at that tuna steak wahh gimmegimme

  • They look soooooo good.

  • Gambatte means do you best not good luck.

  • shawty-zotooo ala morimoto hahah they can rhyme

  • hahaha,

for a trivia for the watchers of this video, "shawty" is spelled "shari", and "shari-sotto" (combination of "shari" and "risotto") where "shari" means "rice for nigiri-sushi". "shari" is a word that originally meant Budda's bones. For details look for wikipedia.

  • nice haha i woulda never known xP n i love sushi :D thx!

  • for anyone who doesnt know, Takenaka-san said "Gambatte" meaning "Good Luck".

  • ganbade isnt good luck, it is "work harder" kinda like cheering

  • You are correct; Ganbade, or Ganbaru, does literally mean "Do your best", but in this particular instance, he is saying "Gambatte", which is a different word with a similar meaning, meaning "Do your best" as well, or more commonly "Good Luck", hence the phrase "Gambatte, kudasai", literally meaning "Please, do your best!". No matter what he his saying, gambatte or ganbade, his words express the phrase "Do your best", not work harder, though it is similar.

  • no such word as ganbade, they are all different forms of the same word. Ganbaru would be used when your saying you will do your best, ganbatte would be when your saying it to someone.

  • Ganbarimasu is more formal, just saying.

  • true, true

  • mmm im so hungry right now :S

  • Oh where is part 4?

  • check my profile, i have this episode divided into small parts

  • I believe part 4 is titled:

Iron Chef Sushi Battle - Presentation of Dishes

    watch?v=sBmGw4ugGEg

  • Thanks so much for that. Glad to see the end

  • The tasting part is called "Iron Chef Sushi Battle - Judgement and Ending Scores"

  • I do not agree. I love everything about this show. They knew how to make it.

  • He's sayin Fukui-san. Fukui is the name of the announcer.

  • SQUEZON!

  • i love sushi so much everything looks so good. i wish i was there and then spring rolls to oh my gosh i really wish i was there now. i guess i will have to go get sushi tommorow.

  • i want to be there too, taste so good...

  • is that guy saying YAKUZA?

  • no hes saying squezon, thats the guy downstairs with the chefs calling the guy in up top to tell him what the chef says, to clear up any confusion as to whats going into their foods. that way the announcer can announce it.

  • It's Fukui-san, not squezon.

Fukui is the last name of the main host who's sitting with the guests.
