  • Don't give up on the team you love truthseeker because of one guy. Yes I saw that he wanted to be a coach, very ironic, but despite steroids, if he can teach guys to have a better "eye" at the plate, and to freaking wait for their pitch, and get more players back to choking up on the bat, especially with two strikes on them, a lost 'art", that might start a good trend, that players use to have, for those that don't know , it was called situational baseball/hitting.

  • @Victor44413 - i passed on an oppotunity to go to the play-offs. i am done with them. maybe, maybe--way in the future...but for now. completely off the giants. kinda discovered i liked the texas rangers while cheering against the giants. also, the dodgers did well by one of my ex-semi pro players...so i am kinda fond of them...but the giants? wanted every team they faced in world series run to beat them. appreciate your sentiments...but i gave up my season tickets...done.

  • @Victor44413 BUT!!!! in spite of the coach--who i hope the fyire...i STILL SUPPORT MY RAIDERS! LOVE 'EM...ESPECIALLY WITH CAMPBELL AT QUARTERBACK...and i am COMPLETELY BEHIND AND SUPPORTIVE OF AL DAVIS. One thing Davis is is LOYAL... if Bonds was a Raider, no way he'd have gotten screwed like that. GO DAVIS'S RAIDERS! i also am a fan of Brett Favre...and I would LOVE to see the guy pull it together for the rest of the season and pi-- everybody off & come back ; get to Super Bowl next year

  • The Giants are just one game away from proving you don't need a steroid freak to win a Championship, isn't that something truthseeker? Congratulations on your team winning it all, which I know they will :-)

  • @Victor44413 --truth be told, victor... i bet AGAINST the Giants... gave up my season tickets when they did not re-sign bonds and i felt it was bullcrap. so--i was rooting against Gaints... have been. Odd hing is--Bonds was at series--WANTS to coach hitters--and I am boycotting because of his ill-treatment. HE BUILT THAT BALLPARK... do i like bond as a player personality? don't really know him. but as a player--per A-Rod and so many others... the hypocrites screwed him... BIGTIME.

  • @Victor44413 You don't have to feel that way, your team won, you learned something, that's what growing up and getting older is all about. I'm really happy that Willy Mays got to see another Giants WS win before passing away. Stick with your team, and always keep an open mind.

  • @Victor44413 sorry you feel that way, but you'll be back to them, just like I came back to the Mets when they broke a million hearts trading away Tom Seaver. Yes I saw he wants to coach the hitters but I don' t think it will for the Giants. They took the most abuse as the face of steroids because of Barry Bonds. So I don't think that want that connection anymore. At least not in the near future. How A - Rod got away so easy is beyond me. All the rest will just never get in the HOFame.

  • This video is scary dude

  • yes he is the greatest all round player...

but you could make an argument that the greatest player is a pitcher

a pitcher that may show up to play only once every 4 or 5 games does ALOT more than even a fielder that plays the whole season...

  • Hey barry bonds .........how many world Series rings do you have? .......Zero!!!!!!all those stats dont mean sqaut if you dont have a championship to go with it . Hate to break it to you,but baseball played to get to a championship not for stats.the game would be all jacked up if that was the MO of the game.

  • @raiderdave76 Although winning Championships is of course the ultimate goal, you can't blame one guy for not winning a WS ring, many players have played on teams that stunk....just think of Hank Aaron or Frank Robinson, I'm no supporter of B. Bonds, but you do need the supporting cast. One guy can carry a team on a hot streak, but can't win the whole thing on his shoulders alone, so i think the Ring thing is bogus. That would mean Ted Williams sucked too, think about it.

  • WOW!!! To say that Bary Bonds is the best ever to play the game is a HUGE insult to baseball!!! He is a cheater!!! Babe Ruth is the best!!!! The only thing Bonds did that Ruth didn't is he got more homeruns by cheating!!!

  • I wish it were only that simple, then we would rid ourselves of Bill Belichek and the Patriots, the MLB Jim Crow Era and the cocaine era of Baseball. The Boston Celtics under Red Arbachs leadership and so on

  • Okay I understand this vidieo is about Barry Bonds, I guess I got carried away with Bob Gibson......it's just that when your ERA is only beaten by pitchers that pitched in the Deadball Era...it's extremly impressive. Okay back to B. Bonds, he's not the best Player Ever...LOL

  • Better info, since T. McCarver was a Met announcer for 16 years, and seeing films, I want to share these facts about Bob. Gibson,1968, 22-9 completed 28 of 34, 47 1/3 scoreless innings. He allowed only 38 earned runs in 300 plus innings! 1.12 is still 3rd league best . He lost 9 but in 3 of those he allowed only 1 run, he could have been 25-6! He won the Cy Young and MVP award. No wonder they had to lower the mound!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i know all about Mr. Gibson--and baseball, oddly enough, was not his first sport. Guy was a harlem globetrotter... bonds, however, and the truth of his place in baseball, is what this site is mainly about...

  • Your right T. Seeker it was the Steroid era, the owners wanted to make fans forget about not playing the 1994 W.S., they could have stopped it if they wanted too.

Getting back to Bob Gibson, not only is that ERA awesome, the only pitchers, that have as good or better ERA's, played in the Deadball Era...now that's pitching!!! 9 shutouts in one year! You can't get pitchers to even get 9 complete games a year anymore!!!

  • Interesting to me is that what i said LONG LONG ago about so many players hoping that THEY too would not get nailed--like Bonds. Bonds took the weight for SOOOO many, including A-Rod--who i said was a user long ago--but got all kinds of flack for it. manny--and the list goes on--and there are MANY MANY who will never be found out. i still think the real villain in all this is the hypocritical bud selig and all the owners who KNEW! but pretend to now protect the game. BULL! BONDS GOT SCREWED!

  • After just a quick look I could not find which player has been in the most winning games ever...although a Met fan, I have to believe it is a Yankee...I did come across a stat that was awesome, Carl Hubell, although playing in segregated era, once won 24 games straight...we shouldn't forget "our" pitchers when talking about "Greatest Ever"...Oral Hersheiser broke Don Drydale's record of 56 shutout innings, think of how hard it is to pitch that many SO innings! B. Gibson, 1.12

  • I just learned another stat about Pete Rose which I find hard to believe, I have to research this, supposeldy, Pete Rose has played in more winning games than any other player ever. I would have to think, that Ruth with early Redsox and then the Yankees has got to be way up there...never even thought of a stat like that...don't really know what the signifigance of it is, many great players played on garbadge teams, but just thought, I throw that stat in there...

  • good stat--winning, finally--is the bottom line.

  • Rose played more regular season games than Ruth. Check the games per season between both.

  • I just want to clarify something I said about Pete Rose, there may have been other players, that played over 500 games at 5 different positions. What I meant to say was he is the only player to excell in the field and at the plate enough, to make the All Star Game doing that.

  • No one is saying anything in here, so I will say a few things, watch All time All star games on Direct TV if you have it, puts things in perspective, check out the stats. just one example Pete Rose 202 hits, avg for 10 years str8 and of course most hits ever, the only player to play over 500 games at 5 diffeent positions, left, and right field, 3rd, 2nd and 1st. A gambling fool but he did it on the field and a leader. The Philles didn't even get into a WS from 1950, until P.R. arrived...

  • The video response about Wiily Mays was great even if I wasn't trying to argue the point about Barry Bonds, I will always love Willy Mays.I guess it's the players you grow up with, that most fans will always think are the best, but the annoncers, did make good points about leardership, as far as racism it definitly had to to be worse for black players at that time. Willy Mays couldn't even eat or stay in the same hotel as his teamates, that had to take to hurt...

  • Forgetting about different eras, and segregation, the Babe didn't have body armor from elbow to wrist, the Babe also didn't have the benefit of a batting helmet, in an era when pitching inside, "chin music" and knock down pitches right at your head, were part of the game. He also did it on the Big Stage of NY with tons more pressure, it's a fact, the least HR's that Barry hit in any stadium was in NYcity at Shea....Babe did it all in NYcity...for my money, I would rather have Reggie Jackson..

  • keep trying--believe long & hard nough maybe u can change truth. truth--bonds, even though i ain't a fan of his personality--IS best ever. frankly, there's a dozen players your babe couldn't touch per this modern era--& maybe more. & u better bet if babe was around today he'd be beyond mcgwire per steroids...instead of king of swat, he'd be the king of juice--& mays? he'd be the "say roids" kid. why? because both were all-ball-all-in-all out PROS! LIKE BONDS, MAC, CLEMONS, & other BEST BEST!

  • Oh get over yourself already, even Mick Schmidt is bettter, with all the Gold Gloves and HRs without steroids....Bonds is so low on the list of the "best ever" it's a joke....there is an old saying in baseball, stats are like bikinis, they show alot, but they don't show all....I wouldn't even rate Bonds in the top 20 of best ever, much less the Best Ever....read up your baseball history, you are young...I love you though truthseeker, you have the passion :-)

  • Babe is by far the best he coulda hit over 800hrs but he was a pitcher and he holds records for pitching too and he wasnt on steriods! So get ur facts straight!

  • this is bullcrap!!!! Babe Ruth is by far the best! he was the fastest to hit 700 hr. he coulda hit over 800 too! he was a pitcher for 7 years and has records for pitching too! and he wasnt on steriods so know wat ur talkin about

  • Yanks Redsox??? I'd rather be in San Fran wearing a shirt with 24 and Mays on my back....

  • Okay let's get a good arguement going in here...everything that is newer or more current isn['t necessarily better, how many of you are familiar with the boxer Jack Johnson? Even Muhammed Ali said he would be afraid to fight him...

  • Victor, you are one game cat. Somebody needs to get you season tickets to the Yankees... AND Redsox... something to keep you from lookin for a scrap. Then again, i can just imagine you in the stands at a Sox - Yankees game. Actually, I can't.

  • Yanks, Redsox??, I'd have to be throwing punches in two different directions if i got caught sitting between one of each of them... LOL

  • As far as Babe Ruth, well you could say the same as Ted Williams, he missed 3 years serving in WW2 and a year or so in the Korean War, he averaged 27 HRs per year, but played until he was 42, he might have averaged more in his younger years instead of being in the service. I think Ted Williams is a good gauge though, he spanned the segregated era to non segregated 1939-1960, if you add the 27 per year avg, he would have ended up with 629, instead of 521, and with a high batting avg.

  • Since ppl are hung up mostly on stats, and ignore the different times and conditions Here are a few stats to consider. Bonds most BB ever 2,558 13 times over 100 BB, Williams, 2021 BB, 11 times over 100 BB...Ruth 13 times over 100 BB total 2062, this of course doesn't take into account total ABs, years played, and a million other variables, just thought I'd through this out there, since seems slow in here.

  • Yes, it's true Barry could've hit 800. However, Babe Ruth averaged 46 home runs a season. He lost five full seasons of home runs because of the fact that he was one of the most dominant pitchers in the history of the game, nevermind his era. Ruth could've hit an untold amount of home runs if he was not walked and was a full-time hitter his entire career. Besides, Ruth dominated at both sides of the game, so I don't know how you could say Bonds was better. I could care less about the allegations.

  • I think the point of not pitching to Barry Bonds is invalid, Ruth ended up with a life time avg. of .342, he had the record of 170 for walks for a season until Bonds broke it, so you could say Ruth or Ted Williams would have more HR's too if pitchers didn't pitch around them, that just goes for all great HR hitters. As a Met fan, I saw MIke Piazza pitched around or walked many times in key situations. That just comes with the territory of being a HR hitter.

  • Bonds didn't even make the all time Giants team...

  • if true, does not speak well of the organization. fact is, if for no other reason, they should credit/celebrate bonds for that damn ballpark they now play in. should be called BARRY BONDS BALLPARK. he made it possible for them to build the damn thing & they KNOW it--but just like weasel selig turning his lying, hypocritical back on mcguire &, to a lesser degree, sosa & a-rod, giants weasels have done same with Bonds. i appreciate you baseball purists, even if--in end--you're fairytale-naives

  • Barry could have reached 850 if it was 4 all the intentional walks

  • Jet-you are on the money. Selig and rest of the weasels will be revealed someday in future as what they really are--hypocritical weasels. When humans refuse to be herded into believing scapegoat stories/lies-all sneaky rats will be revealed--Bet: Selig will be one of the biggest in the sports world. Bonds may not have greatest personality--but he is, per "staying in the pros" like most who play/have played the game. Athletes try stuff-every era. Even Aaron tried speed--MANY know they got away

  • Well as you know I've tried many times to convince fans of Barry Bonds that he is not the best player ever, but I have to totally agree, not being on the all time Giants team is so retarded, I don't remember the list, but his dad was at the bottom, I think he should have had at least that spot.

  • I don't think you should knock the players of Ruth's time, yes they had to work in the off season because salaries weren't what they are now, and certainly they didn't have the size or weightraining of today, but they were dedicated, and did love the game

  • not knocking--merely responding to idea that "old had best player/s"--and that is not so for a number of obvious reasons. i merely point some of them out. i appreciate all baseball players--if others did same, there'd be no need for this post--my main thing, however, is that selig and one helluva lot of owners are hypocritical weasels. and the other is that the game was NEVER "pure"--professional sports is as complex, per truth versus fantasy, as the rest of human affairs.

  • i just wished great players like bonds arod and so on wouldn't use short cuts so they play better

  • You have to be on steroids too to be on this guys side. Its all bogus.

  • con't) to finish up there are many era's of baseball, the deadball era, Ty Cobb being the best at that, the lively ball Era, Ruth being the best at that, the artificial turf era, Rose being the best at that. So B's is the best of the steroid era, so then even McGuire and A-rod belong in the HOfame, if pitchers were using, then you can't have it both ways, then the hitters belong in the HOF too. But for the health of althletes, they should all stick to nurtrition and weight training.

  • And in track and field, we're talking the socalled best they had to offer...in baseball, it was cousin louie fillin in when needed. read up, sport--do your homework, THEN get back to me. PETE ROSE? different story--modern day athlete...

  • Ruth played against part-time factory workers and refrgerator movers--with spaghetti armed wiff-duffers tossing him the occasional mellon.oh--and fences at his home park that were pony-league distance. aain, check track and field records of time... girls of today have records that would best some of ruth's contemporary sports participants.

  • i shouldnt even have to defend the greatest baseball player of all time. this is silly. you prolly think michael jordan would be an average player nowadays.

THE ABOVE WAS WRITTEN BY metaphoria3--and i accidentally "removed it"... so, meta--you got your say, young fella.

'Course, your aussumption makes no sense, as Michael Jodan played in the modern era against the best out there... bigger, faster, stronger, better-trained--and against larger, more talented, dedicated talent pool.

  • Bonds isn't even better than his godfather, let alone some of the greatest of the game. Bonds would've been known as the greatest all-around player to have ever played the game, with arguably the greatest batting eye and plate discipline if anyone ever. Unfortunately, he decided to essentially ruin his career by making himself nothing more than a juiced up power hitting freakshow. As his home runs went up, his steals and defense came way, way, way, way down. A disgrace of the game.

  • I 100% concur. We've got a lot of haters out there but let me be real. EVEN IF BARRY WERE ON ROIDS HE HAD ALREADY HAD MOST OF THOSE RECORDS!!!! So, all of you haters shut up! Anybody that has ever seen this guy play and has a clue about baseball knows that this dude was and is arguably the best to ever lace them up, period! He and Ken Griffey Jr are now done but I can tell my kids and grandkids I saw two of the best EVER!

  • Good to see a man with knowledge and the courage to go against the common crap. Just wish ol' Bernie was GM of the Giants. Or better--the Devil Rays last year. If the Rays had Bernie's smarts and courage, the fools would have a world series ring today.

  • well, i could ALSO be the greatest players in baseball if i used steroids too, but hey, give him credit, no one reaches the major leagues withouth being good at the game.

  • BARRY BONDS- LIVING LEGEND, I'm glad to have been able to watch him at play and rip them out of that Ball Park.

  • disgrace

  • Hey what up truth, I see you're still getting no love for your video, even though no one can dispute it... It's nice to know that DudeUSC can't talk shit anymore...

Bonds is still the greatest to ever play the game...PERIOD...

  • no question.

  • He's far from the best. Ever heard of Babe Ruth? He had a .600 slugging percentage and a .600 winning percentage as a pitcher without steroids.

  • apparently u are new. we discussed babe in many past posts.simply, babe played ball against fellas who wouldn't make my semi-pro team of today. most were part time players-held jobs-and were much like club teams of today. also, was a kissin cousin league-very small talent pool. not international like today with world's best. look at track records of time...many were less than what many highschool players do today. ANY decent player of today would be super-star in Ruth's tiny talent pool league.

  • dont ever talk about ruth like that again. you know nothing about the game.

  • okay, big guy--i am so affected by your stupid post, think i'll stop telling the truth---about ruth. but it doesn't change what's real, cat. ruth played the equivalent of what would be semi-pro ball today. oops, sorry. forgot the power of your cautionary response.

  • Bonds has not won a gold glove award since 1998, so clearly the dude lost at least one of the five tools while in his early to mid 30's.

  • WILLIE MAYS doesn't run like he used to, either-maddux ain't what he used to be-clemons, well, ain't-RANDY JOHNSON AIN'T WHAT HE USED TO BE--hell, you AIN'T what you used to be-but OVERALL, Bonds stands as BEST! a relative OLD MAN-cat led doggone LEAGUE in on base percentage-commissioner and all his cronies weren't such lyin', cheatin, disingenuous backroom dealers...BONDS WOULD BE PLAYIN AND KICKIN BUTT, TODAY... it's a crime what they are doing to this man. a hypocritical crime by weasels!

  • Whether you like Bonds or don't like him, it's collusion by the owners - plain and simple, but they'll never get caught with their pants down again after the last time.

By the way, I know what happened to DudeUSC but I can't talk about it right now.

    Peace...

  • yeah I know I even like Barry but people always forget to be the greatest baseball player needs the 5 tools

    1. run

    2. hit for average

    3. feild

    4. hit for power

    5. have a good arm

  • A leader in or out of the Clubhouse NOT

Best Career or Single Season Batting average even in HIS ERA! NOT

  • picky...picky...picky...

  • Bonds walks on water NOT...

    Bonds cured cancer NOT

Bonds hit a baseball a mile NOT...

but the shit he HAS done...

and the world-wide best of the best era he did it in makes him the best who ever played the game. NO QUESTION.

Check the stats--and look at the many other "modern" players and put theirs against Bonds(old players were small talent pool, kissin' cousin semi-pros--somma you sorry Bonds-hater clowns coulda played pro back then)

any "moderns" come out ahead of Bonds?! uhh, NOTTT!

  • Most RBI Bonds NOT

    Most Hits Bonds NOT

    Most Triples Bonds NOT

    Most Doubles Bonds NOT

    Most RUNS scored Bonds NOT

    Best batting Avg. Bonds NOT

Most Stolen Bases Ever Bonds NOT

does it even pay to continue???OTTTTTT.........

  • Hey idiot you left out most Hr's in a single season, and most hr's ever in the game of baseball

  • One word... STEROIDS and he still can't be the best ball player he's goin to jail next year as far as I'm concerned it's well deserved Another thing did Ruth take steroids?! did mantle take steroids?!! did Aaron take roids?!! did Maris take roids! NO! The only home runs he deserves are the ones on pittsburgh and his really really early years on the giants so barry bonds on the list of the greatest players should be on the bottom with all the other steroid taker because with roids hiting a hr

  • Best of all time??? Hahahaha. Don't make me laugh.

This punk couldn't even make the All Century team in 1999, and he never even won a World Series.

If the stolen base was a big part of baseball I might agree about the 500 - 500 club, but SB's are not nearly as important as they were during the era of Mays, Mantle, and Brock.

I like it that you said to forget about the MVP's, Silver Slugger and Gold Glove awards that Bonds got, because most people have.

In fact, they forgot about Bonds.

  • i just want to clarify that i wasnt bagging on Barry he is a great player i'm just saying that barry isn't the best of alltime. so i hope u didnt misunderstood my message

  • i left a message that was so long that it had only 2 character counts left so if u truthseeker12 got it tell me because it didnt show up when i posted it

  • i cant see how it can be argued..BONDS IS THE BEST ALLLLLLL TIME! truthfully speaking his numbers are in the stratosphere because he is the baseball god!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • alright it kinda scares me y people think Barry "steroid" Bonds is the best. think about this one day Barry came to spring training skinny and small the next day he became huge. u want someone to look up too. look up Tyrus Raymond Cobb

  • you're kidding, right?

  • nope and also think about this Ty not only could do anything when it comes to baseball but he did it in the Deadball Era when the ball was hard and impossible to hit and he also had less games to do all the stuff that he did. so if you want stats. look at his lifetime avg. 367 his 12 batting titles 9 consectutive all his career except 1 season he hit over .300 and that was his rookie year. 3 times over .400 3rd in steals. barry couldnt touch that even if he did steroids times 4 what he's doing.

  • hm...no wonder it's called DUMMY TV!!!

  • ...knew that was coming. but why did it take so long. congrats. you got us. you win the grand prize.

  • greenirish, not all people believe Ruth is the greatest, however look up all his statistcal accomplishments, including pitching, way to many to list here, and you will know why some consider Ruth the greatest or at least top 3-5 of all time.

  • Victor you have to realise barry bonds is the greatest ever........like i said before i do not like the guy but when u said that that most HR's doesn't necessarily make someone the best player ever. then why to this day is Babe Ruth still recognized as being the best ever? he was fat and out of shape and was slow in the outfield. Bonds could field like no other in the game.

  • LOL...fair enough about not being a crime to kiss your cousin way back when truthseeker...I'm just trying to point out what I have, and alot of ppl have on this video, that most HR's doesn't necessarily make someone the best player ever, of course many would argue that Aaron isn't either, so it just goes around in circles I guess...

  • there you go again, sneaking in words that are no part of the argument...no one but you mention # of homeruns as the benchmark... watch the video, again. you are a clever devil--but a devil nonetheless. you should be in politics. with your natural ability (and inclination) to manipulate words, you'd be right in there with the best of 'em. no, better. how about COMMISSIONER OF BASEBALL! or collusion inclined OWNER!

  • Hank Aaron RBI's 2,297 Bonds, 1,996.....Aaron Hits, 3,771, Bonds, 2,935, Aaron Strikeouts, 1,383, Bonds, 1,539, Aaron career BA .305, Bond,2.98. and don't give me that "kissing cousins" B.S, there were way more black players in the 50's and 60's, so make your own judgement ppl, steroids or not...

  • vic--you're smarter than that. kissin' cousin only applies to early game where it WAS kissin cousins. aaron, mantle, maris, pete rose--no they played in an open large talent pool league. it was what the hell it was. so i have no idea what the hell you're gettin' all phony excited about. no one said anything about "kissin" cousins after the early part-time semi-pro kissin cousin era of ruth and company in baseball. not a crime to kiss your cousin, just doesn't amount to much.

  • With the crackdown on HGH and steroids and I think Bond's season HR record is safe for year to come..

  • bonds is a slow feilder but the only spot i can see at is 1st base or dh and his bat speed is probaly slow now

  • visit:DUMMYTV - COLLUSION. UH, LEMME SEE WHAT ELSE CAN WE CALL IT...UH SHAMELESS HYPOCRITES BANDING TOGETHER IN BACKROOMS? UH, WEASEL RATS COVERING THEIR TRACKS? UH, LYING, DISINGENOUS KNUCKLEHEADS PULLING THE WOOL OVER UH, WELL "YOU"? OKAY... THEY FIGURE ONE'S BORN EVERY MINUTE AND THEY ARE TRYING THEIR LEVEL BEST TO PROVE THEY ARE RIGHT. BONDS LED THE WHOLE DAMN GAME IN ON BASE PERCENTAGE. ONLY A FOOL--UH, OR SOMEONE NOT INVOLVED IN SOME FORM OF COLLUSION WOULD NOT GO AFTER THAT. visit:DUMMYTV

  • If Bonds is so good why did the Giants ditch him? And why didn't one of 30 other MLB teams snatch him up when he became available.

And don't give me any shit about collusion. That has proven to cost the owners a lot of money over the years.

I don't give a crap if he cheats his ass off. Bonds is a liar and an asshole, just like his buddies - Clemens, Palmeiro, Canseco, etc.

It was all cool when they were making money but now nobody wants to tell the truth. Idea - just shut up then.

  • Bud selig looked as if nothing special happened when barry hit 756 i mean come on i do not care if you hate the guy or not a good commissioner would have gone down on the field and shake his hand or something! like i said once before bud selig is a asshole and he needs to resign

  • Ok i am a Pirate fan and i personally think Barry Bonds is a asshole but what people do not understand is he is not a cheater even if he took steroids it was not a rule when he took them and as far as i am concerned everybody either took steroids or considered taking them. The bottom line is bud selig is a assehole and he is the one to blame for this mess.

  • greenirish-agreed. well put. & u nailed the right hypocritical asshole in selig. as said many times in past posts-i am NOT a fan of drugs of any kind. but i dislike hypocrites far more. selig-many owners-are full of it. didn't vote for bush-do not like his policies-but gotta give the guy credit-he played past being a hypocrite when he called bonds to congratulate him-bush knows the deal as former owner of rangers-he couldda ducked the issue or put his hands in his pockets like selig. he did not.

  • Yes, years ago they used things like "greenies" which for the youngins is amphetemines. While it may have given them more energy, especially in the days of doubleheaders. Don't be naive, if players of today were using steroids, don't you think player who used steroids were also using things like Ephedra and other things that speeded them up? Especially when they learned it was more bat speed than bat weight that made a differece for HR's So today's players just upped it even more.

  • uhhhh, what about the ROIDS!

  • I cant believe I dont see any comments about what H.Aaron supposedly said, that he still considers himself the HR King. I really feel for Aaron, he was in such a tough spot when Bonds broke the record. On the one hand he doesn't want to be viewed like the ppl who didn't want him breaking Ruth's record. On the other hand if he speaks out to strongly about steroid use, or BB in particular, A. Americans are going to call him an Uncle Tom or worse. Well that's just the way it goes I guess.

  • Victor-you are on the money; and that is a first coming from me. but, as usual, i beg to differ in sentiment. i think aaron KNOWS as well as anyone just how widespread enhancements have been throughout history of the game. he, apparently, admitted to taking "greenies" himself. if there were other things around he, & certainly many of his colleagues, would have partaken. he's as hypcritcal as selig, to me. i understand wanting to keep being "king" but-you dissapoint me, hank. bonds IS HR king!

  • fuckin STEROIDS dumasses

  • Hey sportsaddict, I said T.Seaver best POST WW2, just like with the hitters, it's very hard to compare players from such different eras. Yes Cy Young most wins, but also most losses.

Nolan Ryan most strikeout, but also most walks. Steroids do help if your good already, which Bonds was, I still say extra streagth, turns 8-10 warning track flyballs into hr's per year at least. Since the crackdown on steroids, look how few players have hit 50, much less 60 or more HR's, think about it.

  • Hey Victor, only one pitcher is the best ever, Cy Young, most wins, low ERA and back in his time, there was only a THREE man rotation, and the played double headers all the time, so he would be weaker than the pitchers the MLB has now! Plus back then there were no Relievers or Closers, one more thing Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens wont go in the Hall of Fame becuase they took steroids, i know its STUPID but they should go in there anyway, steroids doesnt make u as good as everyone thinks they do!

  • Let me tell you guys all somthing, Barry Bonds is an amazing player, but is not the best, he was ONE of the best, he could not hit 800 homeruns, only 2 people could accomplish that, Babe Ruth and Mickey Mantle, Babe Ruth was the greatest and im not just saying that! If you look at the records Babe ruth started out as A PITCHER, and he had 4000 fewer at bats then Barry Bonds did, i can already tell this guy was a Giants Fan, dont get me wrong, Bonds is an AMAZING player, but second only to Babe.

  • barry bonds sucks! all his records should be erased from the books! GO DODGERS!

  • Bonds = great

    Ruth = legendary

    Ruth is the best ever

  • sorry caset--ruth played in EXTREMELY limited talent pool--with a lot of part-time players and guys who, today, might not even make my semi-pro team. BONDS played against best in world. and most of what he did was done before and after steroid accusations. BONDS IS STILL BEST EVER AND HISTORY WILL EVENTUALLY SAY SO... I THINK IT IS A CRIME HE IS NOT PLAYING TODAY! had season tickets but now REFUSE to enter the stadium--and will not do so until BONDS PLAYS.

  • roger maris 61.BARRY BONDS 78,

    17 homeruns difference dumbasses

LISTEN TO THE FUCKIN VIDEO BITCHES ROGER MARIS COULD NEVER DO WUT BARRY HAS DONE

DONT GET ME WRONG ROGER WAS GOOD BUT

COMPARED 2 BARRY COME ON KEEP DREAMIN

    500&500 ENOUGH SAID

  • Yeah I have to agree with you truthseeker, it's not not right to really go into someone's personal life, especially someone who just plays baseball, not a politician or anything like that. It's just that his arrogance gets to me. Guess I got carried away.

  • All I can say about Roger Clemens is HAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!!!! Tom Seaver still best righthanded pitcher Post WW2, before that Bob Feller. Seaver, Gibson, Marichal, Kofax, Steve Carlton, 60's to early 80's, what an era for pitching!, plus the lowered mound, Clemens is a douch!!!

  • dammit, victor--wanted to keep quiet--but you drew me out. while i am not as big a clemens fan as i am of some of the other pitchers you mentioned--and others...i think it sucks the way they are going into his personal life. man's got wife and kids-and even if things are a bit strained at home-which they may not be-all of it does not belong in public arena. noone of us are without SOMETHING we'd rather not have public. and on the steroids? hypocritcal witch-hunt. now THAT really bothers me.

  • LOL, Maris is the best player ever? Your kidding right? I don't think Bonds is either, but geez compare him to Aaron, Frank Robinson, Mantle, Killebrew, Ruth, Williams, Hornsby,Cobb, players of that caliber, Maris was a good player, and had the record breaking year, but no where near the best.

  • he is a staroid freak. and roger maris is the best to ever play baseball

  • roger marris? he was above average at best. He had one good year with 61. he only hit more then 30 once after or before that. Ruth or Mays are the two best ever.

  • he didn't take it

  • OOwyk:YES!BY ALL MEANS,we CAN forget steroids.Even taking that period away,Bonds STILL among best who ever played the game-hate him all you want and happily "tech" him for being of the "steroid era" & being singled out while many, MANY others slip by-hell,if they'd witch-hunted in the "speed" era, you'd be all over a bunch of other well known "legends".BONDS KICKED ASS while CLEARLY pure.He just wasn't your-& many others-kind of "friendly".Most of what's mentioned would've been done regardless.

  • Bonds was singled out because he was a role model taking steroids. Now I will agree that without steroids, he is still great, but using them is inexcusable, no matter how good you are. Bonds OBVIOUSLY took steroids, you are simply too overwhelmed by your love for him. All you have to do is look at a picture of him as a rookie and then look at a picture 5 years later. Or you can just look up the tons of incriminating evidence against him. Cheater, liar, and no hero to me. Aaron is still king.

  • first, don't love bonds. probably wouldn't even like him much up close. ain't my kinda cat. your attempt to insult punk shit aside, as a former athlete, i appreciate excellence. i also hate hypocrisy, witchhunts & bullshit-& this has all those elements in abundance. enhancements've always been part of pros. MANY PROS are skating & THEY KNOW IT. Commissioner/owners knew it. Fans finally get wind, political cover your ass bullshit starts. bonds, big mac, a-rod, puljos, brady share more than known

  • It doesnt matter if its been around. Its still cheating and hes not the greatest. Hank Aaron didnt cheat. Bonds did. Get over it.

  • shut up!! barry bonds sucks

  • DAMMIT! It's "DUMMYTV" not DUMMTV--thanks to DudeUSC for pointing out typo at beginning of video! SPORTSDUMMY BILLY will start broadcasting on sports and other important stuff in not too distant future--get over there and check it out. DUMM?--what dummies. Thank again, DudeUSC.

  • Dude--while i think there are many who are sneakin by and know it--i strongly feel that this whole witch-hunt shouldn't have happened. They shouldda just GONE FROM NOW--and made hard. strong rules... and cut the bullshit dog-and phony-pony show. The one cat who addressed it best was JASON GIAMBI--and the hypocritical Selig and others rained down on him to shut him up. A general apology--rules in effect forward--and PLAY BALL.

  • Barry was 43 years old last season and not taking steroids. He's still hitting homeruns at a record pace...and he still looks as muscular as ever (a few pounds heavier). I would say his stats AND his body in his fairly recent power prime appear to be a "natural" progression. Anyone who analyzes stats, especially in baseball, likely agree. Maybe for a basketball player or sprinter, you shouldn't see a late prime, but for a slugger in baseball it is different.Roids likely did not help him if taken

  • this man knows what he's talking about. Sluggers in baseball are like heavyweight boxers. They are dangerous into their 50's. THE LAST THING TO LEAVE IS THE PUNCH. And so it is with Bonds. Good post billpagano! And DudeUSC is chasing real truth. If the REAL list were done--the one that only God and wives know--there'd be more superstars and fan favorites than All-Stars. And we're talkin ALL pro sports.

  • Uh huh billpagano..."roids likely did not help him if taken..." okay, then answer this...if they didn't help, then why did Bonds and Clemens take steroids and human growth hormone if they believe it "didn't really help?"

  • the fuckin puppet is sayin the truth

  • If Barry Bonds is the best baseball player that ever lived, why did he need to use steroids and human growth hormone?

  • nicely said- this is great

  • nicely said!

  • Steroids or no steroids...Barry Bonds was good before he took steroids but he only got a whole lot better when he was taking steroids...

  • Bonds is a great player even if he did take steroids. Nowadays who isn't taking steroids?

  • simple, straightforward--and more true than the average outsider knows. and that is in ALL sports. AND it will continue. best policy--go from now and make whatever rules you want. but no way to be honest and fair about past use. giambi said it best--ALL owe an apology(if one is in order). especially those who are getting away with it--puljos, a-rod, tom brady--you listening?(and all you others). selig and owners all knew.BUSH knew--he at least congratulated bonds--rest are FULL HYPOCRITES!

  • Barry ruined his legacy and will not even get into the Hall of Fame. What an egotisical lying bastard. LOL.

  • think you are wrong. eventaully if not sooner--he will get there, mark mcgwire will get there, roger clemens will get there (and on a different issue--so will pete rose)---and BARRY BONDS will get there--bigtime. bet on it. oh---AND THEY ALL BELONG.

  • Hank Aaron did it clean! End of story.

  • did he? how do you know? so he never took speed--like so many other pros who took WHAT WAS AVAILABLE IN THEIR TIME, eh?

  • He admitted taking the "cream' and the "clear" but stated he did not know they were steroids. Get a new hero. This one is flawed. He was not the best ball player of all time until he cheated, Willie Mays was better, so was ted Williams.

  • Barry is best!

  • I agree Barry Bonds is the best baseball player ever, regardless of the steroid use.

  • fuck u and fuck barry bonds

  • that's what i like about new yorkers, they speak their minds and get right to the point.

  • chimpeach-respect your sentiments, but they are misplaced. bonds was among best ever BEFORE steroid bull-AND after they started testing.while we're on our high-righteous horse, consider rigged pony league distance fences for babe ruth and part time player kissin cousin small pool competition he earned his distinction with-then research the use of greenies and everything else past pros could get their hands on--accusation period aside, he's still best ever.AND he did it with a wood(uncorked) bat.

  • you're not the best at anything if you're cheating. It doesn't matter if a huge amount of people were doing it, if there was one single player not taking performance enhancing drugs then Bonds cannot even be considered in the debate.

We aren't going to let some players use aluminum bats and then consider them the best ever - it's the same thing. You can't begin a debate on the 'best' anything until you have a completely level playing field.

  • We have to remind that from the very beginning, we said this was bullshit. And it is. We suggested the best, most fair and honest solution was to start from NOW--and we were right. We spotted Selig and the other owners as disengenuos hypocrites--and they are. There are many "guilty" stars who are not named. We feel the same about Clemens as we do about Bonds--STOP THE WITCH-HUNT!

  • it disgusts me that ppl think bonds is the best baseball player ever...he takes everything away from the true greats.

  • well-how dee doo--I'M disgusted because bonds is being judged, juried and crucified for being better than people want to give him credit for. he was the best BEFORE the whole steroid-hgh deal. I'M disgusted because pujols and a bunch of other guys were on mitchell's list--but got taken off before official release. I'M disgusted because bonds is taking the weight for one HELLUVA lot of other "star" players.

  • --and i'm MOST disgusted because bonds IS best ever...and the dirtfarming, witch-hunters are stealing his hard-earned, career-long excellence.

  • Bonds is on roids. I am a Yankee fan, Clemens probably did it too. Both of them could have been the two greatest ever, but now they are nothing more then cheaters.

  • Watch Barry bonds and steroids then you'll know if he took steroids

  • OK even if Barry Bonds didn't take steroids, which he did, he still is nowhere close to the greatest baseball player of all time. Unless he can magically tranform into a Hall of Fame caliber pitcher, he is NOT as good as Babe Ruth. Ruth had a .671 winning percentage as a pitcher. Bonds can't do that.

Ruth also revolutionized the game of baseball for all of history. He was the first player to ever hit home runs with any kind of regularity in his day.

  • please read earlier posts. with all due respect to the babe, he played in a small-pool semi-pro league. lot were part-time players and the competition was not anywhere NEAR the worldwide best the players of today play. PLUS, his home fences were pony league distance. DO YOUR RESEARCH--babe is more myth than equal to today's players. bonds eats his lunch.

  • Also, Cloudsoulja, how in the hell did Barry steal 500 bases on roids? Steroids don't do a damn thing for you stealing bases, that's all eye coordination, quick first step, a great jump, and even a little luck...

  • Go to unitedstatesofbaseball dot com and read the article "Barry Bonds and Steroids" and get a little educated on the matter...stop accusing Bonds of roid use just because some people on ESPN THINK he did...

  • Nov. 15th of last year, Bonds is issued a federal indictment (look up what that means giants fans) Part of it includes stating it has evidence of him testing positve for anabolic steroids.

I'm just curious, do you sanfran fans just choose to ignore what the rest of the country already knows, or do you truly believe we are all really just out there to get Bonds just because we have nothing better to do?

  • HE IS NOT THE BEST PLAYER EVER.those records wer tainted(he ROIDED!!!!!)wow he broke the hr record WOOOOOOOW. i have to admite its impressive but check how much records babe ruth broke AND set,and other players that have been crowned the best.the only reason he has 500 steals in becuase before he became a beast of a human he was agile, swift, and NORMAL sized.btw the only reason u say barry is the best is cuz u r a san fran fan. and trust me he DID use steroids,

  • Until the day Mitchell and all those other so-called "investigators" actually prove that steroids and HGH have an UNDENIABLE and statisticly proven link to home run production, Barry Bonds is the greatest baseball player of all time in my book, steroids or not...period. All you haters should google Arthur De Vany of UC Irvine and read his research on baseball production over the last 80 years and see how little has changed...

  • WOW!!! KEEP COMIN' BACK, CHAMP. you are all over it.

  • baseballgeek27--your completely off the wall remark about the nature of bonds' swing marks you as a cat who does not know jack about baseball--suffice to say, even the best WHO'VE PLAYED THE GAME consider bonds to have one of the sweetest--if not THE sweetest swing in the history of the game. sit down. research "rotational", then get back to us with an apology.

  • simply put...he's on 'roids.

    you sound like a 'tard.

The 500-500 club is a joke for bonds. he did the steals when he could actually run, now he hits em, it's like two different ballplayers.

He's so strong because of the 'roids that he has a mechanically terrible swing too... that's not baseball!

  • speed hahahahahaha...thats a joke

  • 'gettin' smarter visitors as time goes on. keep comin back, mikey!

  • barry bonds the greatest hitter to ever play this game,

  • simply put. on the money.

  • you're either ignorant of the facts and don't really follow baseball--just taking the opportunity to throw in with the general hate bonds crowd--OR you know the facts and are enjoying throwing in with the hate bonds crowd--'cause you can sorta get away with it. but not here, sucker(you chose the name, not me).

  • He's great, but everything he does now is tainted.

  • ya but he did it ALL on steroids

  • bullshit and you know it. bonds was already in the pantheon of greats BEFORE any possible suspicion of steroids. whether or not he joined the "steroid era" is yet to be determined. i submit that there are MANY who did who are quietly sneaking by while a few get accused. like him or not, canseco has probably told/is telling the truth right down the line.

  • ya right oh and 800 HOME RUNS! a-rod on steroids couldnt even do that and u know it, i'm suprisided he hasnt died of old age yet!

  • Here is why Roger Clemens is full of it. On 60 minutes he gave all the "right" answers, until the question of a lie detector test came up. Then he was like, well I heard they are good and bad. Yeah right! I would take 6 of them if I knew I was innocent, and that maybe one would come out wrong due to pregudice on the part of the questioner. The main reason they are not admisable in court, is because pychos who really believe what they are saying will "pass" the test.

  • I'm a Yankees fan and even I agree with you on that idea that Clemens was too jumpy when it came to a lie detector. He did give all of the right answers because he knows that he can get away with it. He and the trainer both need to get some proof for their argument or shut the hell up because I'm sick of their whining.

  • If you support Barry Bonds that is fine, but don't diss Hank Aaron by saying he played in "the smallest park you will ever see" that is nonsense, the original dimesions are 330L 402C 325R then 330R final, and no artificial turf for cheap doubles and triples. While not a huge stadium, it probably got it's nickname of "The launching pad" because Hank Aaron played there.

  • natraully a great player. with steroids the record is tainted. plus he's a low life with no class. i feel bad for all the kids who looked up to him. Aaron played the game the right way, he's always gonna be number 1. and Maris holds the single season record.
