I just got this iron and have no idea how to turn it off i pressed the off button and i guess that turns on the infrared ? and then i pressed the off button again and it was still lit up? is it malfunctioning? and is it supposed to beep? mine didn't

I agree with you completely. I have the Croc turboiron with ion plates and I had it for a year and a half.Surprisingly it still works and its AMAZING. Ever since I began using this I will never ever use another iron. This iron makes my hair sooo smooth and shiny and it glides easy because of these special plates. :D
