Lots of cops DONT let you go into the cab.. If that were me doing that recovery, Id be removing the driveshaft/putting my air fitting into the air dryer/or air tank. While it was on its side, to make sure the parking brakes were on, all he would of needed to do is remove the air lines from trailer(causing the trailer park-brake to apply) and if i didnt trust it, drain the air tanks and listen for the tractor brakes to apply. thats a rookie mistake.

@worldgate989 A lot of places will not let you go into a vehicle to set the brake or anything else until it is on it's wheels.

I would have flattened all the tires. Same idea though do something to keep it from rolling back. we would have a second truck hooked to the front to keep it in place.

I don't understand how that happened unless the truck was still running on its side. Trailer brakes are designed in such a way that they automatically lock up when they lose air pressure.

Air tanks were still full. Running or not, if there are no air leaks and the brakes weren't set it's going to roll like it did here.

If it didn't lose pressure then they wont come on. Don't matter if it's lying on it's side or not. My truck will hold air for 3 days if unused. This truck was only there a few hrs.

because the truck that was being put back on it's wheels was attached to that truck, and when it's was back on it's wheels in rolled backwards, pulling over the truck in was attached to. If you look carefully, you can see the cables (there best visible near the end of the movie).

P.S. If you ment why the first truck fell, well I don't know, probably made the turn to tight or something.

A Jacobs (Jake) brake is an exhaust brake that helps slow (not stop) the truck when the engine is running. E-brake was closer, but parking brake would have been correct.
