why does everyone hate Becky so much? I always liked Darlene better but Becky was okay, a bit bratty sometimes but Darlene also got moodier during later seasons too (but her sarcasm made up for it). Although I did hate Becky when Sarah Chalke was playing the role she just seemed stupid then.

My adoptive parents divorced over the same reason. When they adopted my siblings and I, the deal was that Mom would take off one year from school (she's a teacher) and help us assimilate. But when the year was up, Dad didn't want her to return to work. He liked having a housewife. But she would not budge. Then a year after that, she wanted to go to graduate school and that caused even more strife, and just four years after the adoption they divorced.

@FrailShiver no problem. After the divorce, I saw less and less of my adoptive dad. He eventually relocated to another state, remarried, and (get this) adopted 3 more kids. I haven't had contact with him since I was 15. No big loss for me, really, since we never bonded in the 4 years we were together as a family. Still, the absence of a father figure in my life affected me. I felt cheated 'cause I got two shots (my birth and adoptive fathers) and they both failed beyond my control.

@FrailShiver as for my adoptive mom, she's still in my life, but we've had a rocky relationship. She never became the mother I wanted or needed. She always put her job, school, extracurricular activities, and boyfriend (now husband) before us. As a result, 3 of my siblings are on the outs with her and only two of us really talk to her.. Granted, she's done some good (like helped me pay the rent when I was younger and broke albeit with strings attached), but she was never really motherly.

I dont think they make shows like this anymore. There are really few people who are as comfortable in their skin as Roseanne and this show seriously shows the life of common people in America, i doesnt hav anything fake or fancy. Its unperfectness makes it perfect. <3 Roseanne.

One of those classic shows, like Friends, that proves Americans can make great TV shows, and restores my faith that one day, once again, I will be flipping through my channels because I can't decide which awesome TV show to watch...and not out of disgust because my TV has been invaded by slutty house wives and that orange Snooki chick....

I was SO SO shocked and its so sad to watch dan is the man the ebst husband and he and roseanne are the PERFECT couple they are like my parents to a t as is the show and it is so sad to see them not be together in the end.

Actually Dan doesn't die, Roseanne was writing alternative scenarios of her life for a book she was writing where Dan died of a heart attack, they didn't win the lottery, Becky marries David, Darlene marries Mark, and Jackie comes out as a lesbian. It would really suck if those things actually did happen.

actually, he did die. The actor himself is still alive. But the character is dead. Roseanne in the very last episode is shown writing about her life and it's revealed that what we saw in the episodes was only what she wanted to happen. The stuff you mention about not winning the lottery, dan dying, etc. is supposedly what was really happening in the connor's life and what we were watching all those years was only what she wanted to happen.
