  • My dad worked at the PAS factory He had a prototype called "Poor Boy" that was a stock s10 body/syclone drivetrain-No 300lbs of cladding,No 150lbs power seats, and so on.... My mom drove it way harder than my dad and would always destroy lawyers/doctors in 911s and Vettes in our lil town, it was amazing. Nothing could touch this vehicle at the time and until I rode in Godzilla did I feel that pull again!To bad the licensing fees GM had to pay PAS caused it to be so over priced it could not sale.

  • If any one pays attention to when the speedometer the truck don't have to be at reclined for it to be picking up an ass of speed its a big v6 just like a big v8 they don't have to rev high to make power and everyone keeps talkin about horsepower numbers when its about torque especially in a truck that's all wheel drive it makes an ass of torque at Low rpms so if u have any civic or Honda product besides an nsx that was made in 91 like these trucks started bein made ill kiss Ur ass because this

  • It really sucks that GM canceled this series... I drive an S10 (pretty much the exact as this Syclone (Sedona?)same minus the lack of all wheel drive and the turbocharger). The Canyon and Colorado just aren't the same...

  • @Jaygeta1 Do a search. The Syclone is rated at 280hp at 4200 rpm. There not desighned to shift past 4200 unless you change the cam. + adjusting the the tv cable will do nothing. Shift points are set by a special calibrated governor from PAS. This is coming straight from my old Kenne bell literature that I have kept for all these years..

  • @Jaygeta1 i am not going to say it again make it shift at the yellow line my dad had a grand national that shifted proper then this the power range is 4200 then it shifts at yellow line to go down to about 3200 3300 whatever to get the power back up to be between the power range. FIX IT my z24s power range is 4200rpm and it shifts at 54 or 55

  • @westfabrications Ok I will explain this better my car has the same peak power 4200rpm it has a shift line at 5500rpms it shifts between 5-5500rpm down to about 3900-4000rpm to collect power again the same goes for lets say a 96 pontiac grand prix GTP 3.4L V6 dohc engine it's peak power is 5700rpm it starts to lose power slowly after that so it's got a yellow shift line at 6500rpm then it goes to about 4500rpm to start collecting power again. so stay between ur peak or lose 40-50hp

  • @Jaygeta1 try watching some of the other sy/ty launch videos and you will see that this what there set at to shift aprox 4200. If it would go faster shifting at a higher RPM, PAS and GM would have recalibrated the shift points to do so....

  • @RAJSTA81 actually they did 13.4s. 11.50? This truck ran a 11.50 last season with the stock longblock. Truck has a Ptb 61mm turbo, custom Nolan tuned C16 Race fuel tune. 28 degres timing, 3400 vigilante conv. and the list goes on... Truck was bone stock in this video..

  • I can understand you thinking that but if you were at full throttle then it it was shifting to soon (cable stretch, it's easy to bump the adjustment.....). I'm just saying..call a transmission shop, go to syty forum, google it up, watch other videos...ect. it should be right at 5200-5300. To little throttle valve pressure can damage your transmission, so if I'm wrong so be it, but just check it out...it's too soon.

  • @csmwiese do a search, max rpm for the Sy/Tys is only 4400 rpm. GM rated the Syclone at 280HP/ 4400rpm. Sounds low, buts thats the way GM designed them. My truck has now ran a best of 11.50 still shifting at the same low rpms. The camshaft in these are pathetically small!! The same one used in your standard 4.3s.

  • @westfabrications people usually dont get the point of hp and torque curve if you go past the rpm of max hp and torque your just making more noise and not going any faster. i have a 408 stroker with a pretty big purple cam the tack will hit 6000 but the torque max is 5500 my point is i go slower with higher shifts

  • You may want to check your TV cable, It looks like it is out of adjustment because your shifts were too soon

    1-2 shift: 25 mph @ 4300 rpm

    2-3 shift : 50 mph @ 4300 rpm

    3-4 shift 82 mph @ 4200 rpm

That doesn't make them bad vehicles my 00 silverado 2500 my rear bumper was almost rotted through on the passenger side I just replaced it and my driver side cab corner is starting to show some rust. I live in the great lakes region(road salt central) . I look at it this way it took 10 years for it to start rusting that pretty damn good if you ask me that's a lot better then the 1970's models that had major corrosion issues.

  • @jb0177 Ive never had a rust issue with any Gm vehicle ive owned? One problem with the VOLVO you got is the older it gets the less chance it will run..Your Volvo might not have any rust, but youll later get some magor exersize pushing it as its age progresses.! + value plummits!! truth hurts!

    I sold my 1963 PV after three years of daily driving. Love my Chevelle much ore though. Volvo´s are incredibly reliable, but most of all: BORING compared to American Muscle !

I`m interested in buying a Typhoon here in Switzerland but was somewhat shocked by the 40 second time from 0-120 mph tested in an american mag long ago.My Beretta GTZ can beat that. I`m surprised that the Syclone manages the same procedure in under 30 seconds. The SY is only slightly lighther so that can`t be it. Did the SY come with a different final drive or different gear ratios maybe?

  • @theraf8100 I just installed RPM from SY/TY.net 61mm turbo .85 ex, 3 inch downpipe, 60 pnd injectors, and RPMs custom tuned multi chip for C16 race fuel. Ive got 8 chip program settings for 110 race fuel and 8 for c16 .Trucks now running 25 pnds of boost!! more videos to come! Its now a real animal to drive!!

  • @westfabrications I don't see a scan tool! They are essential for not blowing chit up! Also a knock sensor of some sort is key too! Don't get too nutty until you're sure your truck is running perfect. Picking parts up off the pavement isn't fun...ask me how I know eerrrr

  • Blimmey a modern Diesel engine revs higher than that. A Euro BMW 335 Turbo diesel is as quick accelerating with better MPG and tops out at 155mph.Doesn't look as cool as a pick up going that fast though.

  • that didnt look that fast. according to the video your 0-60 time was in the 6 second range which it should be around 4.7-5.2 for stock and i was disappointed to see that it was slower than expected after 60mph. either you didnt floor it or there's something wrong with your syclone, cause a stock syclone will run 13's in the 1/4 and that was more like a mid 15's -low 16 sec. I have a CRX that hits 120mph 2 times faster than that and i know a stock syclone should waste my CRX.

  • @myfuckingsigninname im sayin this video doesnt show him take off at the exact tenth of a second and it doesnt hit 100 at the exact tenth of a second. not rocket science. take a stop watch and wait till he takes off and then hit the button when he hits 60. you cant know the exact time unless you use a stopwatch. and in the world of fast cars and racing, every tenth counts. with a stop watch i counted 5.3 second to 60. not being rude, im just sayin.

  • I understand that, I was saying if you look at the time when he takes off its at 7 seconds then when he hits just above 60mph its at 13 seconds, so i said 6 second range. you have to take into consideration that most speedometers are off by a few mph as you get faster. I would have expected this syclones 0-60 to be insane since they are known for crazy launches due to the traction there capable of.

  • this is true. my roadmaster has both analog and digital speedos and when you accelerate fast the digital one is always right but the analog cant move fast enough to keep up with it.

    anyhow this truck is going on 20 years old and its stock, so it probably used to be a little bit quicker.

  • i got 5.6, so yea, hes not doing bad, and he wasnt hittin it real hard on the launch, didnt hear any tire chatter.

  • Truck was launched at approx 5lbs boost. To get sub 5 sec times I would need to launch at a higher boost. 10lbs usually will do it! This truck has turned a 7.90 in the 1/8th mile on the stock turbo and a custom 2 bar tune. This equals a 12.5 qtr. for a Sy. This is basically a stock truck with a chip and exhaust!

  • Pretty quick! But whats more fun to see is a 4dr F350 long bed (7000+lbs) 6.4 motor with just a tune...do a 1/4 in low 12's. I saw one in action and I was shocked! My truck is fast..lots on engine and tranny work..but damn! for a stock heavy truck like that!

  • truck wasnt even on the ground. That model is a really block body and even at 60mph on a windless day, there is a shit load of wind noise. At 120mph, that video would sound like someone skydiving. Plus its kind of hard to hold a video camera on your speedometer when your doin 120. I should know, I had to have my friend hold the camera when I was younger.
