  • Nice, the X'Trapolis's sound way different to the Walkers Adtranz that we have up in Brisbane, but theX'Trapolis's do have a very nice sound! Did you get any Comeng Vids?

  • yeah the X'traps are my favorite Melbourne EMU, good to see they just ordered some more :). Yes i did get some Comeng vids but its very hard 2 make vid's at the moment my computer is playing up.

  • So what did you think of Melbourne's trains compared Brisbane's Citytrains? The Melbourne Trains are a lot wider than the Citytrains.

  • I prefer QR of course :) but Melbourne's network is very interesting. And yeah Melbourne's loading gauge is wider than QR's so thus can have wider trains

  • When I use to live in Melbourne, my favourite trains were the Comeng's! But the Siemens and X'traps are still nice trains! There is just something about Australian made trains that makes them nicer than the european made ones!

  • I was also wondering, did you know that Melbourne has a 'Broad guage' network which is why there trains are wide, if you know what I mean. As in they seat 5 abreast with plenty of standing room unlike QR Citytrain's narrower trains which only seat 4 abreast.

  • @qldmatt Yeah, it was very short sighted of QR to stick with the narrow gauge as it limits what trains they can purchase and use, the Broad-Guage makes Melbournes trains are so much bigger and better.

  • I prefer melbournes trains because they don't have carpet

  • i wish x'trap can run throughout the whole network.

  • Yeah, they are really nice trains!!
