You do realize that the pop means popular right? It's melodic punk really. It's easier to listen to. it's generally happy sounding. not so much about sticking it to the man as it is about life and staying positive. Much like the difference between hardcore and metal. Most real hardcore is about friendship and staying strong. While that might not be the case anymore. It's found it's place under a genre sometimes called posi-core.
