  • me and my bf tried the long distance thing for 2.5 years....out of our 6 year relationship....he went to japan and im in canada..so you see the 13 hour difference IS REALLY HARD!! whenever its day time here its night there it didnt work out.we always kept arguing and the main argument was based on communication.. he would not reply my msgs/emails and yes i felt like he didnt care enough.he came to visit and we acted as if we never parted.we're trying again but i will see how it will go.

  • Hey New subbie, I saw this video and I had to sub. My BF and I are going through this right now, thing is it wasn't supposed to be... that's a long story though! Your tips make a lot of sense though. Thanks for sharing. Could I email you about some questions I have concerning this topic?

  • Wow. I am SO relieved that I am not the only one that's going through a long distance relationship. I'm actually in a VERY similar situation as you when you and bf first started off. (:

He lives in California and I live in NY. We've actually started off as long distance relationship and we're 5 months into the relationship right now. (:

Thank you so much!!! This really helps!! ^^

  • Thank you, feels a lot better to know I'm not the only one in this position. My love lives on a different continent but we're now counting the days until he get's here. I can't go one day without hearing from him.

  • Thank you!!! Mine is in another country so we treasure every time we talk and send pictures when we can. Can you do a video with when your parents are not happy about you just talking to someone not even dating yet?

  • This is incredible and so true, I have so much respect for you! I am currently in a long distance relationship (although I am very young, only 16) but I completly agreee with everything you just said. You are my new inspiration!

  • how do you talk to him everyday, wouldn't you run out of things to say?

  • i will be watching this video every time i feel like my long distance relationship with my boyfriend is not going to work out....thank you for this :)

  • Wow im so happy you made this video today ^^

My boyfriend and I are also in a long distance relationship and today is

    our 4 month anniversary. <3

  • Thank you so much. My boyfriend and I are in a long-distance relationship, and I can already tell that its going to be a rough but very rewarding road. We are both highschoolers who live on opposite sides of the country (hes in California and i'm in Indiana D:), so not being able to visit makes things even more dificult. But, dispite being so far apart, I feel such a strong connection to him. Ive certainly had crushes before, but the feeling is alot differant. I hope we can pull through and fin

  • Hii!! I LOVE this video... everything you said is VERYY true.. hehe i met my bf before he moved so we couldnt really had a bonding relationship before he moved too. My bf and I are in a long distance relationship for 6 years now.. haha super long.. and we are still going on.. hehe but yeahh its very nice know that you can love someone so much even if they are thousands and thousands of mile away.. (: THANK YOU for sharing your relationship.. and im very happy that your hubby worked out!

  • Thank you SOOOOOOOO MUCH for making this video! Your tips were GREAT! I'm willing to follow them cuz i'm in a long distance relationship myself! And I also don't wanna lose him lol.

  • So I met this guy online he's 18 in college and so far away we txt everyday and skype when we can also talk about meeting one day but idk I really have nothing going on here except for a little more school um but my question is what can we talk about we just never know hah and hes always hoping I will have something to say other than "whats up" etc

So my question is what can we talk about ?

  • My boyfriend lives an hour away from me. During the week we are in the same town thanks to college. Due to college and his family finding time is sometimes difficult. His family sometimes keeps us apart for weeks at a time due to things he needs to do to help his family. I always feel insignificant and lonely without texting we would never talk. During the summer we bearly see one another at all. Thanks for the advice. I know people like me and him need it.

  • Ive been in a long distance relationship for 4.5 years :) this video was great! All of the things are so true. I live in NY, and he lives in Canada… We've been talking about who is going to move and who isn't. At first I was going to move to Canada, but then we realized that I had better options here, (like law school) and now we are discussing him moving here :) Either way, I am so excited!

  • I thought his name was really Texan. I've been fooled. :(

  • if only i could show my ex this video :P we were in a long dist. rlationship. and it didnt work out at all.. now we're just 'friends' :P so i dont realy have the right to tell her anything. lol oh well life =P

  • This is such smart & true advice!!! Girl, ty!! :) It was super informative. Wishing u & Texan the besstttest <3

  • you are so sweet and such a real person. Wow you are so amazing

  • You're gorgeous. (:

  • awesome thanks for the tips <3

  • thank you so much for the video.. great tips..

  • This is so true ! You don't have the 'luxury' of been mad at each other. You HAVE to get the situation clear, shortly. Thats why COMMUNICATION is very very important for me.

What you said at the end made me think about a quote that I love a love..

« Never regret anything, because at one time, it was exactly what you wanted »

You were HAPPY when you were with him, don't say it was a waste of time.

  • Man I got chills towards the end of the video :) I hope u guys stay together forever

  • BEST LDR advice video on youtube, and I have seen them all.

  • You're so pretty! :3 Thanks for the great advice! BF and I have been together for over a year with 2000 miles between us, similar situation to you. Happy as can be! :3

  • you really helped me to survive, thnk you

  • You always make the right videos at the right time. Thank you so much. You are my hero.

  • Like if u thought her bf's name was really Texan -__- lol

  • This is sooo cute! >_< haha, well I've been with my bf for 5 years, we weren't in a long distance relationship or anything..but all the things are very true even when not in a long distance relationship! yess, as corny sounding as everything you said it is really true. You will know when you truly love someone and want to be with them. I'm sooo happy for you! :)

  • How old are you?

  • i watched this video more tan 3 times!!! i love it!!! since yesterday my long distance relationship started :( we been together for 3 years and 2 months and now we will be seperated :( totally sucks!!!!!!!!! and sure not easy. thanks

  • Only found you today but u actually had me in tears near the end. It's so true what u are saying! Defiantly following u hun

  • Sounds so much like my boyfriend and I. We met online and it took us 6 months before we even had a chance to meet, and for me to take the plunge again because I failed badly previously... we barely had 3 days too when we finally met, and I knew at the end of that I'd found the right one. I believe too that there's more than one person out there for everyone, but suddenly no one else matters when you've found one of them. :)

  • This video was amazing -3 I watch all of your videos you're just so inspiring :)

  • This video will me help A LOT in the next four months. You're so awesome! And your hair just makes me want to dye mine red again x_x hahahaha <3

  • Helped me out a lot!! I'm in a long distance relationship and were 2237 miles away so it's pretty hard

  • i must admit, "texan" is a lucky dude :) i feel like a stalker since i've never actually met you... and since "texan" and i don't even keep in contact anymore. but he truly truly is a great person. at one point, he was the ONLY person i trusted to talk to about life's problems. i'm so glad he found someone so perfect for him. congratulations you two

  • Thank so much :D

  • i like your hair -- do u have a tutorial for that?? btw, this video helped alot too. thanks!

  • Thank you so much for this upload, I'm on a long distance relationship and your video really helps me. He lives in Hungary and I live in Finland so it's quite a distance, and we meet only a few times a year. But I'm so happy for that you two will move together, i hope that someday that will happen to us too. (:

  • When ever I lose faith or don't know how to handle things in my relationship, I can always reflect back on this video to give me hope and direction because I know it's all worth it :) -3

  • Thank you sooo soo much, I´m in a long distance relationship and your tips are so amazing and actually made me feel more comfortable and optimistic about it

  • Woow, your relationship looks so much like mine! It is hard, but love always wins!

  • So true, ive been with my partner for a year and 3 months and honesty and being open about things is top priority of things you should do as well as everything else you mentioned. You really do know when your with the right person cause nothing else matters anymore. Everyone argues in relationships but its how you deal with it and come to mutual ground to the end the argument is what keeps you and your partner strong, great video :)

  • You completely described the relationship with me and my bf :) I'm so glad you guys are together now and one day I hope I can have the same happiness as you ^_^

  • I wish I had had this video a year ago. :) My fiance and I learned a lot of these lessons on our own, and everything that you said is the truth. We came to the same conclusions and they have made our lives so much better.

  • This video hit home, I'm going off to college soon and their might be a chance that I won't be going to the sane college ad my bf for a yr and 7 months. I also get jealous and the distance is going to be over baring, I wish I thought as positive as you do. But I will try my best to make it work out...

  • Oh my gosh this video really hit home for me! When my fiance and I first met, we weren't exactly in a long distance relationship but we were about a half hour apart and everyone teased us because of the constant contact by texts or phone. It's been almost five years and we'll be getting married in October. It's so overwhelmingly awesome that I'm marrying the first and only person I've been in love with. Your video really made me realize how our relationship has worked out! Thanks!

  • awww it really helped me thank u

  • I met a man over the internet and for a year we got to know each other, we fell in love. After a year he came to Australia with his family and we met for the first time. We were together for five days and they were the best five days of my life. Saying goodbye to him was devastating, but we got through. 3 weeks later I had a break down and he left me. That was nearly 4 months ago, and I'm still recovering. What we had was real, and I don't regret being with him. I still love him =]

  • What was the website that u would mostly use to buy the airplane tickets to see him? ._.'

  • aw this is so cute, im so happy that you're able to experience such a fulfilling relationship :)

  • I really can't describe the timeliness of this video to my life. My boyfriend, and the man I believe to be the love of my life, just left for basic military training last week, and we've never been apart! I can't have any correspondence with him except through a few letters, and it's a new experience. But I don't doubt for a second that I can trust him, and that our bond is strong enough to bring us through. Your tips will definitely help me work through the distance! ^_^

  • I just got home from visiting my long distance boyfriend of 2.5 years! I miss him already, but I'll get to see him hopefully in February. This is all good advice :D

  • My boyfriend from New Zealand who I've never met in person before came down on Dec 14th. Everything went better than expected and he made me more happy than I have ever been in my entire life. We've known each other for 4 years but this was our first time ever meeting in person (I live in Canada). He left today and I can honestly say saying goodbye to him was one of the hardest things I've ever done. It's unbearable but I'm trying to cope with the loneliness.

  • since 6 months I met the man of my life, at one point, I didn't believe it love, and I met the one for me, he makes me grow and glow (sound's like a add). It touched me when you talked about friends, I just lost one of my best friend and roommate, I wasn't with here as much as before and when I said that I wanted to move out with my boyfriend, she was very angry at me. I tough that it was my fault, but my lover said that she wasn't a true friend... i wished she would just be happy for me.

  • I subscribed to you a few weeks ago and I just want to say that I love your videos! <3 And then when I stumbled across this video, I was so happy to find it. I am in the middle of making the hard decision of being in a long distance relationship right now. And watching this video has helped me soooo much. Now I feel like I can do it because you have helped me! Thank you so much!

  • What a great video! And the advises are dead on!! I know exactly how you feel because my bf was in Iraq and that's exactly how we got thru it and life really is so simple when you're with the right one. I wish everyone in the world can feel the same happiness!

  • I really liked this video because I think you highlighted on some of the more important issues in a long distance relationship. I have been in a long distance relationship for a few years now and I have to say that I feel closer to my partner in so many ways that I feel like I would have missed out on knowing in a conventional relationship.

  • I'm in a long distance relationship as well, We've talked on and off for five years, first meeting through an online video game, then moving over from that to Facebook. When I moved to his state, he left for ND for work. He just visited me for the first time last month for three days, then had to leave. He says he'll come visit me once a month, but it will only be three days each time he visits once a month. Is it wrong of me not to be in love with him even after he's confessed his love for me?

  • Thank you so much for making this video. I have a special someone who lives about 350 miles away from me. I live in Las Vegas and he lives in San Diego. We are still young and can only see each other less than once a month. I'm so glad you made this video knowing I'm not the only one who deals with a long distance relationship.

  • you really helped me and i'm not even in a long distance relationship thanx alot ^_^

  • you are so lucky to be able to spend time with each other :( my boyfriend lives all the way in the US and I'm from Canada so we're a country apart and it's super hard to be able to have that feeling that we have each other =( I wish that one day we could visit but with all school work and busy days I don't know how we'll be able to see each other... The more I talk to him everyday the more I want to be with him!

  • Why does my bf not understand these thigns that you talk about? For example constant communication :'((((

  • @xxxAngelikaxxx b/c boys r idiots.

  • Hahaha, agree :D

  • Thank you so much for doing this video! I watched it the day after my boyfriend left for Italy after spending christmas with my family and me, I felt so sad after he left because I got so used to having him around and it got me all down about our situation, this video really cheered me up I took your advice and started planning my next trip to see him! :D You´re such a happy and positive person, and I think thats the most important thing when doing long distance, Texan is lucky to have you! xx

  • Me and my boyfriend are in super long distance relationship( Japan and Sweden) We've been together 3 years. Im so agree everything u said !! Your video remind me how lucky I am to have him in my life ;) Thank u !! Great video ♡

  • My boyfriend lives in another city... it's only 30 mins away but it's not the same, is not like he can come during the week to see me.Your tip of trusting the other person really helped. It's not that I fully don't trust him, it's just because of the person he is. He is the sort of guy that every girl wants to date and lots of girls are constantly flirting with him. I know he wouldn't of asked me out if he didn't want to date me but just the fact that he's far away puts me on edge.

  • @BaybeeCi28 Thanks luv

  • @SecretLifeOfaBioNerd When I get there that is, I have to save money. It is expensive to say the least, but I am NEVER giving up :)

  • U right! nobody better than him :)

  • s o inspiring.

  • i just subscribed to you and i must say you are amazingg !! my girlfriend and i (we're a lesbian couple) are in a long distance relationship and i && thank you so much for your tips ! some we use && some are new !! im going to tell her to watch your vid because i know it will def keep her &i going strong .

  • @nanalisa27 Aww thank you so much for watching, and sharing my video. It sounds so sweet that you love your partner and that's very admirable ^_^".

  • this video is soo amazing and inspiring

  • Me and my ldr boyfriend have been dating for nearly 7 months. Sometimes I wonder how long I'll be able to hold on. Like we skype and facetime together all the time, but nothing compares to being physically together. Hopefully over the summer we'll finally be able to meet 3

  • My bf and I have been doing long distance for 3 years now, since day 1. Now we have 7 more years to go because he says we should date for 10 years just to make sure. I can't wait to be with him side by side forever!! :)

  • Awww i love this video so much...

  • are those 6 scissors?! in ONE SPOT?!! i can barely ever find ONE pair!

  • @hotkiss1215 haha yes they are..I have to have them in one spot or I will lose them!

  • This video was made right on time for me. My boyfriend just left for BasicTraining on the 3rd and ive been glued and replaying this helpful video everyday so far. Going with the little things that other couples take for granted. Ill stay strong for him <3

  • Thank you so much ! Loved it

  • Thank you so much for sharing your tips! It's so true that relationships aren't as complicated as girls make them out to be. Your tips and story really helped me because my boyfriend and I are both going to separate colleges soon and you gave me advice I can't find anywhere else, not in magazines or advice columns. <3 Thank you, and Texan!

  • I have in a relationship of 7 years, 4 of which has been long distance. We are thousands of miles apart and sometimes it was too tough to hang on to. But even so, we have kept our relationship alive and I'd say, it's mostly because of his dedication. He puts up with me even though I can be a cranky jealous bitch! I thank god everyday for him.

  • ahh perfect video! :( parting with my boy (again) starting tomorrow.. for six months.. :( 15 HOURS PLANE RIDE AWAY, TIME DIFFERENCES, its hard but super worth it.

  • I did 2 years of long distance, and everything you said is dead on. It does really, REALLY suck a lot of the time, but during that time you realize just how important that person is to you!

  • Thank you so much. My boyfriend and I are both in college and are in a long distance relationship. Your video helped a lot. Thank you so much. :)

  • How did your parents feel about you being in a long distance relationship? Were there problems?

  • @thelittlerobot45 I wasn't going to text Texan my mom was the one who pushed it..and they liked it even more! LOl no physical touching but I get the satisfaction of having a BF. They met him on the first visit and they love him!

  • @SecretLifeOfaBioNerd Wow that surprised me. =o I thought your parents would've been worried about dangerous people on the internet haha.

  • I'm really happy for you! I'm really happy that you can voice your love in such a way over youtube to so many people, that you two are so in love, and that you are happy. :)

  • totally agree that you should run with it when its love. . My mister has kids that he is the sole parent too, so i had to learn to not only love him, but to love the kids and put them aboves our needs most of the time as well. totally different scenario.

  • What a perfect timing!!! Yesterday my boyfriend had to move to Denmark for 6 months.. when he comes back we are going to have the perfect live together.. =) Thanks for the tips.. =)

  • My husband and I were in a long distance relationship for about a year and a half. I lived in Michigan and he lived in England. He's now living in the US. It was a long road but totally worth it!

  • you guys have such a cute love story.

i had a boyfriend for 4 years and another one for 4 months. they both were assholes the way they ended the relantionships (both already flirting with other girls). but, seeing your love story -- and also the past you told us in blogs, the frogs and etc --, makes me believe we all have soul mates out there waiting for us.

  • I actually felt like I was in a relationship while watching, then the video ended and reality hit me :/

  • You're so in love, it's so cute!

  • "A few weeks ago we were watching "The Walking Dead" and I asked him what would happened if I turned into a zombie and he said "I would never let that happen to you". Then he paused and got really quiet "I don't want to talk about it any more". He was actually sad at the thought that I might turn into a zombie and he just responded with "Let's go learn how to shoot a rifle". LOL Every day it's another confirmation that I will always be happy with him."

    That's.so.adorable.

  • Thank you thank you thank you THANK YOU for posting this. My boyfriend is going into the Air Force, and after boot camp he's going to a tech school out of my state. I'll miss him, but I think your tips are going to make the long distance relationship a lot easier. :)

  • after more than 3 years of long distance realationship i decided to move to my boyfriend, because i loved him so much and i wanted to spent all my time with him together. the only thing i had to do is finishing my high-school diploma. he broke up with me in the week of graduation.. i still don't know why. maybe he was afraid of making the wrong decision.. i never thought this would happen to us.. your video make me sad again :( i want my happy end so much..

  • @gAbRiA1991 If you didn't do anything wrong and he breaks up with you it means it was his insecurities and fears and he should have vocalized it with you. If he didn't that means there is another soulmate waiting for you ^_^"...I dated a lot of frogs b4 I met my Texan ^_^".

  • @SecretLifeOfaBioNerd ...you dated a frog?:)

  • This was a great video and just what I needed. I had been single for 4 years after a bad, long distance relationship and have headed into a new, healthy relationship. Trust and communication are two things I stress to my guy. We aren't long distance per-say, but we don't see each other often enough due to living in different cities. Wise words and spoken from experience and your heart. So thank you :) xx

  • my friend cud've used this advice!

  • This is the best video ever!! :P

  • That sounds wonderful, I hope that I can get that kind of happiness with somebody one day

  • It's beautiful to see the look in your eyes everytime you speak or mention your Fiance's name. All the best of luck to you both <3

  • Awwwwwwww this was so touching.

I could tell that you were about to cry at the end of the video, hope you're okay!

    *hugs*

  • My long distance relationship was hard he lived in France and I in new York...then he moved to Africa which made it even harder but he's one of the greatest men I have ever met..

  • Thats about the cutest thing i've ever heard x] Hope you and Texan have a wonderful life together <3

  • That someone would be me(: you helpped me a lot(: im actually in a long distance relationship (kinda) we met 2 months ago, met him at a wedding for 1 day and than we just started talking and got each others numbers, and ever since that day, we've talked everyday for 2 months now. Im so incredibly happpy and cant wait to visit him someday! saddd thing hes all the wayy in cali while im all the wayy on the east sidee so were deffinatly in opposite directionss, butt distance isnt going to stop us(;

  • I really appreciate you making this real video. A lot of dating or relationship advice is out there, but you speak from the heart and from experience, and that's what counts. :-)

  • 14 people couldn't handle long distance relationships.

  • if you dont mind me asking, how long before you made it official...as in boyfriend/girlfriend official? just wondering

  • My boyfriend lives all the way in New York while i am in the UK, so it IS REALLY hard, but i felt a bit relieved when you metioned these tips, because i think now that we have been doing this Long Distance Reltionship thing right XD

  • You are so honest(: All of this is so true(:

Makes me understand that I'm so lucky to have my boyfriend<3 even if he is a thousand miles away(:

    (Who also lives in Texas)

  • Thumbs up to tip no. 9!!!

  • 14 people are bitter... i LOOVEE this video! Thank you so much (((:

  • 100% true.

    Talk about twin minds. :)

You are so beautiful both inside and out.

  • My LDR didn't work and it made me really sad, but... maybe one day it'll work again I hope.

  • Wonderful advice. Wise beyond your years. I wish you and Texan the best, many blessings and many happy amazing years together. I hope and pray I can find a wonderful man I can share my life with like you and Texan.

  • You are such a great person :)
