Thank you very much...it is a great area with Bear, Deer, Elk and Moose to spot on your way hiking to the Mountain Goats high living slopes and peaks.
It is kule now that you mention that natural censor...great observation and kewl way of lookin at it...nice work.
I was using my Great Uncles 30-06...and I ended up getting closer than I expected because of the clouds comin in and out I closed the gap to 156 yards according to my Bushnell Rangefinder.
I packed it out of there by myself...ended up with around a 100 pounds of sweet tasting Mountain Grass Meat...and although a very tough hike, it was more than worth it and I would do it again...and I have and will continue.
It is a special feeling to be so high in the tops of the Rocky Mountains...awesome!
hi i need a advice of what gun should i get! the money i can pay any amount. i need a gun that can shoot over 1000yards and lethal and accurate! and the scope yea. do tell me thanks
Thanks for your response...It is difficult not to see hunting of any kind through one's own values; however, I am not in any way shape or form against harvesting animals for food; on the other hand, to see an animals head hanging on someone's living room is just not my thing. Even though I may never get to see a polar bear or a mountain goat in the wild, I would rather know that they are in fact still present in the wild than to see their heads as a decorating accessories.
I know how you feel...and don't disagree with you. I understand that you would not want any harm to come to your pet goats...and that shows you care.
However...I truly know that its far better off in the wild and free on the off chance of natures cruelties or a harvesting, than that of an animal that is contained for peoples own pleasures.
Don't take that the wrong way...I'm sure or at least hope you do care well for your animals...but that is clearly not the intended use of the animals life.
I know what you mean...it is a crazy thing to understand for the none hunter.
You are correct in that it is beautiful, and it is sad...but it is also beautiful and great to harvest...and the meat on a Wild Mountain goat is not even comparable to that of a domesticated animal.
I think it is far more sad to contain an animal than to hunt a free and wild part of nature.
We call it Zipper Mouth, but I don't know what its real name is...there is no name of the mountains on our maps...but it is north of Cranbrook if you know the area.
haha nice billy man , i live in the kootenays and were actually goin for a goat today so im getting pumped up watchin videos, its nice to see one from my area haha hpefully the weather doesnt dis-agree with the hunt.
It was 156 yards...my Cousin spotted the Billy Mt. Goat Miles away, so we discussed it and I went for the hike...spotted it at 450 yards and started the sneak up...meant to get to 200 yards...but the clouds kept comin in...so 156 yards is what it ended up being.
Thanks, it was a very memorable trip.
I didn't take a goat this year, but saw 51 in 4 days of hunting...could have but held out for and never got the ones I kept seeing far off.
I have caught a 48 pound Spring (Chinook) Salmon, and a 24 1/2 inch Cutthroat Trout, and hunted for all kinds of things...but I would love to go fish for those mean toothed Muskie...they look awesome.
You are lucky for many reasons that you live in Ontario.
I love where I live too, B.C. is beautiful and full of fish and game.
don't you wish you had a high powered sniper rifle lol! great job man im going hunting for grouse this october at my dad's cousin's farm. It's gonna be pretty colours with the leaves changing. And a grouse on top would be awesome LOL. You should come out to ontario and hunt and fish its awesome.
Hey thanks man, and I would love to get to hunt and fish in Ontario. Many of your Deer and Fish are much bigger than ours. As well you have some fishing that we don't have, like Muskie and Walleye and Bass for the most part (we have a few small mouth).
I am going Moose hunting in a few weeks and the leaves all change colour...I know what you mean...awesome.
Good luck with your hunt, I hope to get a grouse or two as well.
I did just get back from a bow hunt and got a Whitetail and a Grouse.
Nice shot, and beautifull scenery, check out my vid and see how we do it in australia, we just drive up near point blank range and open a barrage of fire ;)
I wouldn't want any accidents, but if some fool wanted to break in to your home...he deserves what he gets!!!
I have heard of people here who were charged with assult when they hit a burglar over the head with a lamp because they were scared of this intruder...its crazy.
Good to hear you'll be able to hunt with a pump shotgun. Good luck to yah!
Vote McCaine in November to keep your guns. The democRATS have a ton of new guns to ban on the new assault list..even Ruger 10/22. "only the police and the military should have guns"...Barack Husein Obama
That sounds awful, banning 10/22s why. These gun law people don't understand that banning guns only takes guns away from law biding people and actually increases the amount of guns on the streets and with the criminals.
greatian is what is known as a lying P.O.S republican. bush has been in the white house for 8 years, with no changes in gun policy and violent crime is actually increasing again.
you want to shoot goats come to australia, packs of 100-200 goats roam the outback you could shoot them all day no worries, but its not very skillfull to do so because their just everywere
yeah you cant eat them, there just basicly farmers goats that have gone stray, your allowed to kill as many as you want to becasue the can cause bad erosion to crops.
Wild, that sounds crazy. I think I have seen some vids on that maybe...where they were using helicopters to get into remote mountains and hunt these goats...there were lots of them, and the guys could shoot all they wanted...I am not used to any thing like that...we don't do that here...but I guess maybee we do with Rats...ha ha lol. Lots of those lil buggers here...they can be a real problem someplaces. Not where I live luckily!
you dont even need a helicopter, its usually just out on the flat country or in the bush. all you need is a rifle, car and a good shoulder coz you are gonna be doing a hell of a lota shooting, same with wild boar.
Yah, wild boar eh, I've never done that either...they are pretty big aren't they? and Mean with big teeth called cutters...is that the wild boar your talkin about.
I hunt Grizzly and Black Bear Boar, but not those narly wild pig type boar, those must be good to eat eh! Man they look tough though!
yeah they usually razor backs, there also really agresive, they will kill you basicly and because thhere is a real bad drought out here they stuggle to get some nice vejy's to eat, so they will proberlly eat you too. and yeah they are fucking scary.
Jimmy: "shoot goats come to australia"..too bad your government took away all your guns. It will happen here in the US unless you gun owners vote pro gun!
They took away all semi-auto and full automatic rifles we are still allowed bolt action lever action and shotguns they cant take away all our rifles because it wil complelty fuck our farmers.
Gun laws in australia are very different from in the usa. Its very hard to get a handgun, legally, and if you have one you can only use it for target shooting, no hunting and not for self defence, in australia you dont have the right to defend your self. Im serious.
Sounds almost crazy eh! I bet people will defend themselves anyway...I know I would. Gun safety is important and I don't want guns goin off every where either, but to take away a right to personal defense is wrong!
Nah im serious, unless you live in harsh suburbs where police dont really go to then you are basiclly fucked if you are jumped or whatever. All the time this happens, man with knife try's to jump or steal from citisen, citisen kicks the living shit out of attacker, citisen gets arrested, sued and put in jail for a few weeks or months. I am not lieing this seriously happens.
in the uk if you try to defend yourself the law protects the criminals and you would be convicted and get more punishment than the criminal also if they break into your house and hurt themselves they can sue you the police cant catch the criminals so they criminalise the people that they can catch
Hey thanks a lot! There is always something amazing out there in every swamp, in every field and especially in every forest...go look and you should have fun..sometimes you may even see something extra-ordinaryilly (sp?) awesome!
Nice man... I just finished my core and have been fishing most my life and one of the first things i want to hunt is a goat.. I saw four goats on wile drifting down the Squamish river for steelhead today.. I was thinking i cant wait till i get up there and get one my self

Dreams can come true, I used to be like you and dream of it...now I actually did it! Thanks and keep dreaming...thats what paves the way to happiness! Good luck to you and your dreams!
well yeah the hunting is good the fishing is even better. but like just to hunt something new i never tried goat or stone sheep yet. the west is the only where you can get them.
Thats is crazy, what did you do with them all? You wouldn't want to get 45 goats in a month where I was..but mine tasted great and kinda sweet from the alpine diet.
Great job! went on a goat hunt this fall with my best friend in southwest montana, were successful, but believe me when you say steep, and dangerous, only a goat hunter could truly understand and appreciate what that exactly means. Congrats
Thanks, I really appreciate it! Kuel u had success on your Mountain Goat trip. I would love to see some pics or vids from ur hunt...not to mention I would love to hunt Montana!

yes, as a matter of fact I did...he was great... he put limb savers on and I also bought some bino buddies or caddies while I was there. He was awesome...did it the same afternoon I went in. Nice racks in there...kuel muley behind the counter!
He ate it so it wasnt wasted so why complain plus it was a humane shot.

It was a young Billy so the horns hadn't grown much yet.
