His semi-automatic rate of fire with the SX3 is faster than the AA-12's full auto. The AA-12 WAS pretty advanced....in the early 70's when it was invented. Now it's a dinosaur.

The MPS version is not really redesigned, they just added explosive ammo.

It is still too heavy, clunky and slow, especially compared to newer shotguns. Patrick Flanigan can shoot twice as fast in semi-auto with the SX3, but with the AA-12 you're limited to it's slow full-auto setting.

If you're really dead-set on a FA shotgun, checkout the Wraithmaker Saigas.
