  • So awsome. This is really good music

  • A Bronx Tale, and American Graffiti<3

  • they did this justice on american idol a few weeks ago. this song is an ultimate classic

  • Thumbs up if Jenny Romano brought you here.

  • I was probably the only 12 year old who loved this that I knew and that was in the 90's or early 2000's

  • Thanks to my parents' 45 collection, I have grown up listening to The Flamingos ( I am now 28) and they used to play this song at the end of their house parties. I remember my brother, cousins and I being shoo'ed back to bed by my mom, around those times.

It wasn't until I had become an adult that I've noticed how "sexy" this song was.

  • thumbs up if the darkness 2 brought u here

  • @togurotoguro yep the darkness 2 brought me here, here is a thumbs up for you lol

  • who doesnt feel like the weight of the world's opression is lifted as soon as you hear 2:41, oldies is where things like love and romance supersedes sex and pleasure in this sick world we live in, thank you for keeping this wonderful music alive, i hope to share this with my future grandchildren and let them share in the warmthness that is pure magic

  • doo-wop is where you feel bliss

  • Now this is MUSIC!

  • @pghsquid right on!

  • These guys were actually Jewish African Americans from Chicago (originally) and Nate Nelson was the lead singer on this song, which was from 1934.

It's probably THE best "make-out" song ever! Love you guys for sure.

  • Being from the Pittsburgh Pa. area and raised in the fifties, this music was played at record hops and mostly on a radio station from Homestead Pa. and a guy named Porky Chadwick spun all these R&B groups. It was a great time...believe me!

  • My Love must be a Kind of Blind Love Can't see anyone but You..wow what more can you say..Growing up on Miami Beach the Castaways Haulover Pier ..Simple harmony Doo Wap on man you just want to play it over and over and over..R E A L..no Agenda no BS just Heart and Soul..

  • sounds like the first shout is 'she-bop she-bop'...then it's 'de-bop she-bop'

  • I could hear this song over and over. Those Rap singers are so far out in left field with their stuttering bullshit.

  • AMAZING SONG

  • This song is amazing! I am only 31 years old, but I have heard this song as far back as I can remember. I LOVE 50s-60s music! They just don't make music like this anymore! This song I could listen to 100 times straight and every time it gives me chills! It's so romantic, so beautiful, so real!

  • fuck that one fool who disliked this.

  • the best rendition of a song ever by the illustrious flamingos

  • when they say "i only have eyes" with those perfect harmonies....shivers go down my spine!

  • This song still makes me stop in my tracks. Every single time. This is how you speak to a woman. Not this bend over b*tch, let me hit it one time, you remind me of my jeep crap of today. This is classic, classy, beautiful and timeless. Real music. the 50s were AWESOME!! Thanx Mom n Dad 4 keeping us well rounded.

  • the best love song from the90s

  • Its amazing that this song was written back in 1920.

  • Loved this song ever since I heard it on "A Bronx Tale"

  • @BoredRandomCraptv This is probably in the top 5 of songs recorded in the 1950's. The sound....the voices.....the instruments.....it is about as perfect a pop song as you'll ever get.

One of the best....thank you for your comments.....keeping the oldies alive.

    S CARINO

  • @RadioCarino np, thanks for the post. you're awesome ;)

  • @RadioCarino 3. I Only Have Eyes For You - Flamingos - 1959 / Swallows - 1952

    #3/100 Greatest Doo Wop Ballads

Definitely one of my favorites! Thank you so much for uploading this!

  • @BoredRandomCraptv exactly stuck in my head ever since ........

  • @TheLexiegirl1996 lol. thats always a good thing, with this song of course.

  • @BoredRandomCraptv i love this song since i heard it on Dont Tell Mom the Babysitters Dead :)

  • Fugees - Zealots

  • I first heard this song in American Graffiti, during the scene on the blanket, right before the car got stolen! What a song!

  • so great,thank you!!!

  • One of my favorite love songs of all time.

  • The person responsible for the Flamingos’ arrangement of the song, in addition to producing and performing on it, was Terry ‘Buzzy’ Johnson. According to him,

    "Smiley" played the guitar part.

Buzzy also said: “I can’t now remember exactly how we got so much reverb on the ‘doo-bop sh-bop’ backing vocals to make them go that far back, but it was really heavy and just a little of it was used on Nate (Nate Nelson) to warm up his lead.

  • The subtle guitar intro is absolutely nothing but magical!

Composed by Harry Warren and lyricist Al Dubin, written in 1934. The "Fabulous Flamingos"... rightly named. My favorite love song.

  • No dislikes, that's how good this song is< 3

  • I wish I could explain to young people what this time period and America was like, but it's impossible and it appears my fate is to forever haunted by that memory............

  • ooops, I mispoke the commercial in the maternity ward was Cindy Crawford

  • An example of a cover that has survived the test of time.. Original song 1934, Peggy Lee's release in 1950, Flamingos in 1959, and who knows how many countless commercials most notably with Brooke Shields in the maternity ward.. However the Flamingos are brilliant and deserve all the affection they get.. Thanks Carla for the research, hopefully someone will let us know who he was..

  • No one seems to be in agreement on who sang lead on this classic. I've read at least a half dozen books and each claims a different lead singer. One book states Nate Nelson as lead. Another book states Zeke Carey-then another says his brother John Carey. Then Dave Marsh's book 'The 1001 Greatest Singles Ever Made' claims it was Tommy Hunt singing lead. Then another book I read said it was Sollie McElroy. Talk about confusing. Will we ever know who is singing lead on this classic from 1959 ?

  • doo-wop, doo-wop

  • It was nice to have a DJ who would dedicate songs like this....Really sent a message that usually got a response!

  • The movie "A Bronx Tale" brought me here! :)

  • Sublime. That's the only word that describes this marvelous romantic nocturne.

  • @BegoneJonah You're right.

  • Songs like this make me wish I lived in this era. You lucky ducks!

  • Every bit as good today as it was back in 1959 and this recording is flawless.

  • THERE ARE NOT ENOUGH SUPERLATIVES IN THE ENGLISH LANGUAGE IN WHICH TO ADORN THIS SONG...CERTAINLY,ONE OF THE GREATEST SONGS EVER~A MASTERPIECE OF ART...WITH A STRANGE,DREAMLIKE QUALITY TO IT...Radiocarino,THANK YOU.

  • I loved this at only 8 years old, and now at 59 I love it even more ♥♥ Thank you for this post RadioCarino ! ♥♥

  • My God...they just don't, don't make love songs like this anymore, anywhere. The goosebumps start as soon as the needle hits the track...lyrics, arrangement, and the harmony is just to die for. Thank you so much for posting this. Some of us romantics will always take this song, a full moon, and a glass of wine as a signal that "this may be the one."

  • @Sendmommy0524 Care to dance sweetheart???

  • Best version of this on the Tube. Thank's!

  • this is a lovely song
