god, I remember this little video from the Multimedia CD-ROM set that was packed with the pc... i loved it so much, it was such a cool thing... with sound and music coming out from it, and colour graphics, 3D stuff and games unlike anything on my nintendo at the time..
My first computer was an Aptiva K25. It had 850 megs hdd, 100 mhz cyrix proc, and 8mb ram. But the really cool thing about it was that id had a multimedia kit, including quad speed cd-rom drive, and an amazing fax modem 28.8k. My friends were all so jealous lol. Good times.
Whoa, wait a minute. I got my Aptiva in 1996... I believe. You're telling me it was already 2 years old when I got it? I had the 2144 A14 like the one pictured here in the video.
I know that, which is why I mentioned the EXACT model. However, I rarely see a lay down desktop model like mine. I assumed that style was the early one. The towers came after. That is why I'm confused. I will have to search for a timeline for the lay down Aptivas.
My first computer was an Aptiva 100 mhz , 1 gig hd , a 4XCD and a WHOPPING 8megs ram and I got it 12-4-95. Unbelievable that thats almost 15 years ago!
Had a 300 mhz Pentium II with 64 megs of RAM. Probably THE most reliable machine I've ever seen. It still runs great after 11 years, today you'll be lucky if computer run for 11 days.
My Aptiva was a 486SX 33Mhz, 270MB hard drive, can't remember if it was 8 or 16 MB RAM. But it worked great, it had a CD-ROM which was totally new and so cool when I got it :)
I got Aptiva
- 486-33SX
- 4 MB ram
- 270 MB harddrive

I'd really like to hear that terrible Aptiva demo video that'd fill all the Radio Shacks.
