  • i'm afghan but dont say i dont know anything, i am not starting arguement. this song is pakistani, but pretty much originated from india :).

  • this is a whole lot of confution....in between the song,it sounds like gujrati....''ee jeere...''and all that music is purely gujrati folk...there is the word ''gujrat'' also mentioned in the song...then,how can that be a punjabi song....????do reply if you know something about this....

  • its A very good vedio and dance is also nice in this vedio...

  • I too want MP3 version of the same song, can you help me with that ?

  • its a seraiki song originally

  • a punjabi folk half pakistani an half indian

  • how can i dowbnload ths song

  • i want its ful video if anyone have then plz upload it r snd me plz i need it

  • Lol u guys shud stop fighting over where the song originated from. U shud be happy that all of us have such a rich culture we call ours. N meda is not only a word from Pakistan but also from himachal. I am half pahadi n half punjabi so I guess I wud no better then knowing just one side of the story.

  • @shef9000 he he.. i m also half punjabi and half himachali.... but i proud to call myself as punjabi because i was born and raised in punjab... but i have relatives speaking pahadi...

  • FACT: Original Song was sung by Surinder Kaur in 1950s. It was later sung by Mussarat Nazeer.

  • nice songs

  • another copied song by india.

  • these words are not from hafiz abad, in hafiz abad, eastern punjabi is spoken of lahore, its from multani dialect, southern sargodha

  • very energetic .

  • song and music are nice cool ..but the leading dancer in orange dress is not dress up well...it dose not suit her...she need to improve her dressing sense....but song still rocks..

  • crazy gooood song

  • nice

  • this is def by surinder kaur, that's my fathers best friends mother, who passed away some time ago.

  • very very nice

  • Very well done.I hope i attend a wedding like this one day.

  • What a disgrace this "remix" is to the original song by Musarrat Nazir!

  • @optimistsRUS,

I just found out that original was by Surinder Kaur, not Musarrat. I grew up listening to Musarrat's version and thought it was the original in modern times...

  • GREAT

  • this is gujrati and punjabi mix. interesting, first time i've heard this mixture. not bad actually. Usually im pretty strict with punjabi and dont appreciate if somebody messes with punjabi songs. But this aint bad. cool.

  • Another memorable song…

  • no man .. its ruined ...!!! only musarat nazir did justice to it ...!!!

  • gr8 song..........

  • thiz is mussarat nazir she was a pakistani singer she has also sing sada chiraya da chama and many others song

  • I love punjabi folk music,on my death bed i shall want to listen all punjabi folk songs.

  • veer ji tussi taan mere dil di kar ditti. Ain't nuffin' like punjabiyat...

  • Who's the female singer of this song?

  • its a nice punjabi pahadi mix song menda is upper himachli word used for mera.

  • @rajivsharma18 , meda has nothing to do with your himachli word, this song as well as its word come from western punjabi (Lehnda) spoken in areas like Hafizabad, pindi bhatian , sargodha (Pakistan) etc.

  • gr8 song........

  • One thing I dont understand is that if it was written by the Delhi University Professor, why is it written in the Multani dialect which is not spoken anywhere near East Punjab? I.E. Menda instead of mera.

  • Credit be given to whom it is due.

Original song was sung by Surrinder Kaur shortly after 1952. Original lyrics (Lathe di chaadar) were written by Joginder Singh (a poet, lyricist and Professor of Literature at Delhi Univ) shortly after his marriage to Surrinder Kaur in 1952. Surrinder Kaur herself started her singing career in 1943 at 13 yrs of age at Radio Lahore. After the Partition, many poets and lyricists (including her husband) from Indian Punjab wrote folk lyrics especially for her

  • Surinder Kaur recorded about 2000 of these songs. Many of these many songs have become Punjabi Folksongs. . Even when these songs were played for the first time, people thought they must have been written long time ago.

Later, the renditions of many of these songs were also song by Pakistani singers. Younger generation of Pakistani Punjabis seem to think these songs originated from Pakistan just because a Pakistani singer happened to sing it.

  • cant w8 to sing dis on ma bro's wedin lol

    x

  • i love this song.this song will be ever blockbuster

  • rajeshwari is looking really cute...nd boss no arguments about the song its the traditional punjabi folk ..nd ek dam masst hai yaar..

  • why argue about it,Sit Back and enjoy this fantastic music no matter where it comes from pakistan r india.both country makes good music.

  • this song is not pakistani song...its an old punjabi folk song...originally from punjab from part of india...

  • This song is really old... but it started in the region around lahore, so u cant say its from Indian part of the punjab.... but either way the whole argument is stupid... Its from the days before the partition so it belongs to both Pakistan and India...

  • very nice bro. isn't it common practice in our homeland to claim rights to anything. how can something belong to someone as their invention even before their birth. but never mind. your logic defies imagination. if a pakistani had created it - good but there was no pakistan-so it is not pakistani. things created after pakistan came about can surely be claimed. would you say lahore railway station was built by pakistan?

  • @bilraz but pakistan supposed to translate it to persian or arabic and then sing it, They kicked out all original singers to india.

  • great song n dance toooo

  • meri chunee noon lag ray taray

mainday wal channa haas kay na tak way

teri maa paye karaindee shak way

  • Thank You very very very........much.....Let me share the miracle.....i heard it first time during Navratri and unfortunately forgot the wordings of this beautiful track. Today, i remembered it after ages in dream n believe me when i woke up .....guess ? .....i googled and finally got it at YouTube. Thanks to the Uploader and YouTube team.......

  • this song always reminds me MERA WASDA PUNJAB

  • relly nice song and it is one of the best songs evr

  • the women in the orange in the lead is okay looking and that hair cut so does not suit her, she would have looked better if she did this dance in a nice lehnga and not in orange and not sleeveless...

  • oh gosh i cant belive wat the bollywood did to tis poor classical song but the song is so wondrful witout this...dancin sleevless ting...but it is a amazin song (:(:(:

  • hu cares hu copied hu, FACT: nice song

  • It is pathetic that indians are rigorously copying original folk songs of Pakistani pujanb, this folk song belongs to well within Pakisani punjab.

  • Chill man.

Why don't you just enjoy the music and leave the politics to the governments? Does it really matter where it originated from? The fact is that this is a beautiful track and the unique thing about this version is that this is a fusion between Punjabi and Gujrati. You won't find this in any of the previous versions or atleast I havn't come across any. If it originated from Pakistan, three cheers for Pakistani music. But let's enjoy the track without getting into politics.

    Peace...

  • wat can we do? *sigh* my mom says the same thin but oh well, we cant sew them or anytin so might as well enjoy the song...
