If Republicans hate parts of the bill, they should change what they don't like. If they kill this bill entirely there will be people and children that will suffer because insurance companies don't care about them. Like it or not, we need SOME regulation of health insurance.
And that regulation exists, and should stay, at the state level. It is not the government's purpose to prevent suffering, it is the governments job to protect the rights of individuals. As to how can I say that, the federal mandate is to force people to buy insurance, with massive federal subsidies along with it. Medicine is not a right, and trying to make it so infringes upon the real, natural rights.
The republicans aren't necessarily opposed to univeral coverage, but the way to approach it is that we are wealthy, and the production equations have changed and this is something we can do; without making it a so-called 'right' or bankrupting the country. Then, let a couple of state try it out. In such a way that it can be done away with if it turns out to be a disaster, not making it virtually impossible to repeal, for the same reason.

If Republicans hate parts of the bill, they should change what they don't like. If they kill this bill entirely there will be people and children that will suffer because insurance companies don't care about them. Like it or not, we need SOME regulation of health insurance.

And that regulation exists, and should stay, at the state level. It is not the government's purpose to prevent suffering, it is the governments job to protect the rights of individuals. As to how can I say that, the federal mandate is to force people to buy insurance, with massive federal subsidies along with it. Medicine is not a right, and trying to make it so infringes upon the real, natural rights.

The republicans aren't necessarily opposed to univeral coverage, but the way to approach it is that we are wealthy, and the production equations have changed and this is something we can do; without making it a so-called 'right' or bankrupting the country. Then, let a couple of state try it out. In such a way that it can be done away with if it turns out to be a disaster, not making it virtually impossible to repeal, for the same reason.

Many people think they have insurance...yet don't realize they signed a pre-existing condition rider which takes the insurance company OFF the hook when it's time to pay.
