I am a Turk from Izmir (Greeks call it Symrna) , I have to tell you that it's very sad to see the mother crying and looking for his son in the video. On top of nations, I think every mother is first a human being and shouldn't experience something like this. I know many stories where similar things happened to Turks. Turkey invaded in Cyprus in 1963 but they managed nothing.so U.S organised the dictatorship in Greece and Cyprus to help Turkey ivnade. Cyprus wouldn't be able to do anything if there was a dictatorship.

The invasion was preorganised and not to protect turks. But in fact US and England want Turks and Greeks to be enemies because they will have the control of the area

Another thing I visited Turkey 6 years ago, and yes met a lot of nice people but you talk about racism as soon as they found out I was a Greek Australian, it just got harder to get things done around Turkey. You still don't understand something. There was NO turkish cypriots involved in the fighting, it was GREEK AGAINST GREEK starting from July 15th 1974 till July 20th 1974. When turkey began the invasion on the 20th, then of course the whole island started fighting. Greek militia's and Turkish cypriot militia started war with eachother as well. But that did not happen until july 20th, even Denktash has admitted this fact. You can read the Guardian or NY times microfische on July 15 1974 and see.

It was fighting between supporters of Makarios and supporters of the Greek junta from Athens who carried out their plan through the new EOKA-B led by officers of the Greek Army. It was only AFTER turkey invaded that there were battles between Greek and Turk cypriot forces. It is only afterward that we can see the stupidity of this now we see our compatriots spread over the world.
