@CBALLEN Only the utterly arrogant proclaim they will go to heaven. Heaven is only gained through the grace of the almighty and deeds alone are not enough. Sure, one can be good all ones life but that is a petty price to pay for such a reward as paradise. On that basis, one can never say he or she will go to heaven but rather, by the grace and forgiveness of God. It is this very humble stance taken by the prophet that has gained him such respect and following by the masses, even to this day.

Terrorism has been around since the world began, for religious and political reasons, kings conquering kings, 200 year Christian crusades. Killing innocent people should never be ok, period. The Quran says specifically they are only allowed to kill men who attacked them are prepared for battle on a battlefield. But if their enemies surrender, Muslims cannot kill them. Pakistanis aren't actually Arabs, but educated ones tend to embrace secular humanism rather than other religions. I'm not sure just why---perhaps it's the high level of education among Pakistani professional/academic classes. That being said, I would welcome a mass shift toward evangelical Christianity across the Arab world,, as it would bring a shift toward western values, free markets, the emancipation of women, and improvements in human rights across the board.

@CBALLEN Only the utterly arrogant proclaim they will go to heaven. Heaven is only gained through the grace of the almighty and deeds alone are not enough. Sure, one can be good all ones life but that is a petty price to pay for such a reward as paradise. On that basis, one can never say he or she will go to heaven but rather, by the grace and forgiveness of God. It is this very humble stance taken by the prophet that has gained him such respect and following by the masses, even to this day.

The Quran says specifically they are only allowed to kill men who attacked them are prepared for battle on a battlefield. But if their enemies surrender, Muslims cannot kill them. March was decided to be the perfect day to be declared the spring equinox. Also, the rabbit and eggs are associated with Easter because they were originally part of the pagan fertility festivals. Finally, worshipping anyone or anything but God himself is blasphemous. We worship only one God. We do not worship any man and we do not have multiple gods.

@orlibonurb Humans have always needed something visual to focus their worship on. WE don't rely on images, we rely on faith. Anyway, you'd think you'd at least try to depict Jesus (pbuh) as he was, not as a white blonde with blue eyes. I don't know if I'm going to Heaven. No one knows but God. But as a Muslim, God's love and mercy for me has not changed, but I have for the better. I think I have a better shot now that I don't think I'm entitled to go to Heaven, as many Christians believe.

@orlibonurb Anyway, I never denied the use of the term "Al-ilah" prior to Islam. He was the pagan moon god. In Arabic, "Al" means "the" and 'lah" means god. However, it is popular belief that Allah is a contraction of Al-ilah, which is not true. The easiest way to explain this, as you do not speak Arabic, is to take the saying "Ya Allah" or "Oh God." In Arabic, "ya" is used in reference to a second person party. It therefor cannot make sense to use it with a third-person party, like the god.

@orlibonurb What translation do you have?!? First, the correct translation of 8:55 is not "those who disbelieve" but "those who reject Him: they will not believe." It goes on to say "They are those with whom thou didst make a covenant, but they break their covenant every time, and they have no the fear (of God)." This specifically refers to the repeated treachery of the Banu Quraiza after their treaties with the Muslims. Treachery in war is doubly wrong because it endangers so many lives.

8:39 actually reads, "And fight them on until there is no more tumult or oppression, and there prevail justice and faith in God altogether and everywhere; but if they cease, verily God doth see all that they do." The first half is still referring to the battle of Badr.

@orlibonurb The last part of 8:39 means if the oppostition had ceased from fighting and from persecution, God would judge them by their actions and motives in His own time, but would not encourage the continuation of battle. Please check your sources and don't post non-sense you cannot back up.
And please, we have never referred to Jesus (pbuh) as Satan. I really pray that the God who created all things, who created you, will have mercy on you and forgive you for calling Him Satan.

WW1 and WW2 was waged by christian nations and killed millions of people. Black african people were raped, their natural resoucres stolen from their land etc for 400 years by the christians. @jawad4444 We all have the freedom to act as to our own devices. If many in Christ's name have destoyed others then they really have not followed Christ's example. Many profess to be Christians for their advantage. Many sit in church and don't even have Love in their hearts because they don't read the bible and are so wraped up in their greed that they act like as if they never knew him. Acting out of line in God's name carries some serious consequences, which we will find out at judgement day.
