Sorry this guy sounds like Garth Brooks to me c`mon Runrig its not even close, Theres now has an American country twang... wrong choice i feel. thank god for youtube.
I love this band since 24 years......I have had today a concert in Munich, but they cancell ist. They will come in may and I´m happy to be with them in my 23rd concert
It´s every time a brilliant event to see how much fun the men have to make muisc for the fans. Please keep on making us happy
You must have been away for a very long time:-) Donnie Munro left the band 11 years ago to pursue a career in politics...don't think it worked out the way he had wanted though. He's still around as a musician and has released a number of solo albums since his departure from Runrig...
Well; I'm in America. Its hard to get info like that. My mother got me onto them when she went back to Glasgow. I think it was a little after Recovery was made; Thats the tape she brought me! I found Heartland and Play Gaelic at the Pacific Northwest Highland Games and Gathering of the Clans!
Play Gaelic and Hearland? LOL;-) If you wait another 30 years they might eventually sell Everything You See, Proterra etc over there ;-) Alternatively, you could always come to Scotland, to stock up on CDs and to see a few gigs. Scone Palace, 29 Aug 09???? :-)
I plan on going there in the fall after the MacGregor international meeting with Sir Malcom MacGregor our chief. I am going to ask if I may accompany him back to Dunbarton for a couple of months to meet and get to know my people and the land we have left. Who knows, I may deside to re patriate my self to my Heartland!!
I also want to rebuild my weakend Gaelic language skills; so, that will take some time. I'll be there for more than a couple of months. I hope to be there a year or two. I get a pension from the Army so they don't have to worry about me needing money.
You should not believe everything you hear or read, not every Scot wants to leave the union as Alec (bloody) Salmon would like people to think. I am a proud Scot - born and bred, but I am also very proud to be part of the United Kingdom and Great Britain, there is no freedom fighting to be done so don't worry yourself with other peoples issues.
I am not the one to try and sell anti Sovergienty to! Both sides of my family have suffered because of English Ideals. I am a MacGregor/ Lakota souix before I am anything! I have close family that still lives in Scotland. Every MacGregor has an oath to uphold. We Swore and continue to swear that our ultimate allegence is to a free and independent Scotland. Other wise thousands of our Family died for nothing at the hands of England! Look at the Lakota and tell me devolution works! It does'nt!
It was the English that inacted the Proscription and subsequent sentence of death for any one going by the the Clan Gregor name; my surname, is a product of that genocidal act! Yes it was lifted in 1822; almost 200 years long, at the end, there were only 860 of us left. The only reason for our survival was, the other clans hid us as best they could. All my info comes from Scotlands historical societies and museums!
I know that most of the killing was done by disloyal Scots. As I said; Scotlands historical societies are where I obtained my info! But, the orders were cut in none other than the English Kings throneroom! The future I want is retrobution and Sovergienty for the rest of my family that is both alive and buried there in my native land. It is better to die free than live under the boot of another nation. What you you need to do is talk to an Elder Lakota; He'll change your mind quick time march!
A Lakota will tell you the truth that you have been blind to and that is; Self determination is the right of all sentient beings and that right will continue to be trampled if good men continue to do nothing!

How much do the English pay your clan in kick backs for being Judas? 70,000 for the isle of Man, What else? Oh yes your asshol English highlanders? I mean; Why else would the Murray be the only clan to have a private army? JUDAS JUDAS JUDAS! Your not a proud Scot at at all. Your nothing but an Englishmen wrapped up in a Tartan! What now; I suppose your going to cry out that Elizibeth II is a stuart. Bang up job shes done for Scotland; let me tell ya! Oh; did I forget, NOT in that last sentence?
"all Americans - know everything about nothing"??? This seems a tad harsh on a public site, no? Iba a pasar por alto algunas cosas, pero esto es demasiado. これはちょっと言い過ぎじゃない? せっかくのいい曲なのにこんなけんかで潰さなくてもいいじゃん。Come on give us a break, we're a mixed lot here on You Tube.
@DiggermanNo1--- You are right DiggermanNo1,people just need to listen to the words of Flower of Scotland 'Those days are past now,and in the past they must remain' Me ? I'm English, but I love Scotland and it's people.
I thought there was only one show at the castle this past summer, and they finished the show with Book of Golden Stories. But at the beginning of this video Bruce says " I can't think of a better song to leave you with" At least that is what it sounds like.....
And also thanks for the great videos you post. Living here in Montreal it is a pipe dream to see these guys in concert so I have to make do with the videos here!
I was here! Front row on the esplanade at Edinburgh Castle. had an AMAZING time!! travelled up there to see Runrig on most of the lads' home ground. was @ Manchester (my home) on thursday to see them for 2nd time this yr -again i was at the front! not like last year at sheffield- i practically had my elbows on the stage & a few years ago rory was near enough standing on my fingers lol. got my tickets for SCONE PALACE! gonna be amazing! lets see if we can survive Year of the Flood number 2!! x
Holy heck, I didn't realise how popular Bruce was in Europe...he was home in Cape Breton for a short appearance at one of our local arenas, I was talking to him just like the home boy that he is backstage. It's hard to believe you Europeans consider him a mega star...he's just Bruce from Sydney Mines here and acts accordingly. You go Bruce!
I am aware Bruce sings with Runrig, but band is not really well known in this part of Canada and he doesn't really make a big deal out of it when he's here. I recently started to check out the band on Youtube: very impressed with their success. I enjoyed Bruce's music at our local bar when he was first getting started. Some friends backed him up: guitar/bass in those days. Bruce's original stuff is still very popular here.Lawrence from Florence (village next to Bruce's hometown of Sydney Mines
Bruce is big - really big and it is great to know that he has not lost his sense of home and has remained grounded. Just like the Runrig boys act when they are home. True Artists and epitomise everything that is good in the human spirit.
Scotland. They have a grand and loyal fanbase in Denmark though. Trying to unite the ancient bonds between the two of those countries, hehe. The lead singer, Bruce Guthro, is from Canada though. I am from Denmark ;)
You're quite rigth - but Canada /New Scotland - Scotland - Denmark ... all the same roots, and apparently the same good sense of music :-)
It is funny because when you meet Bruce at shows both solo and for instance at Tønder Festival he is not acting as a mega star, just as a sing a song writer with a song and a story on his heart and that is excatly what makes him a very special personality
wow your videos are so close, we got our tickets really late so wer right up on the right side, on the seats but we stood the hole time....an amazin concert! my sister flashed him haha
this song is just awesome brings a tear 2 my eye all the time thanks for posting it was a superb concert from in my opinion the best band 2 ever grace our shores roll on 2009 il be there
Its very difficult when you lose a singer
Its very difficult to replace a singer

I was wondering though.. a claymore is such a great sword (literally), then how come scottish light sabers (at 3.30) are so small? ;)

@lordronin593 because they were tired of bringing 3 people to a battlefield to wield ONE weapon?
why are we talking about swords?

You should read a bit more history rather than listening to old wives tales, most of the killing in Scotland was done by other Scots, not the English.
Nothing is ever gained by looking over your shoulder and dwelling on the mistakes of the past, let the past stay in the past and embrace the future.
When you get older you will understand these things.
