It is simply brilliant. Raag mishra Pilu is my favourite and any people with criticism for Koyel, this is for you...can any of you sing a dadra half as good as hers. There are certain feelings a dadra invokes and koyel achieves this remarkably.

Bless you koyel for all you have achieved. You are an inspiration to hindustani shastriya sangeet students.

I think "TablaPandit" is right. Koyel is great but the 'Tabla- Shri Prangopal Bandopadhya' is having difficulty in sangat. You can notice an unpleasant expression on Koyel's face. Her performance is, however, superb. Khalid

I think she might have wanted to sing the bandish in medium tempo dadra but ended up compensating by singing the bandish in slow keherwa. (that is a shift of tempo and a 2 beat differential). If that is the case, she is very nice because she could have made a scene and told Pran Gopal to play dadra (which would be embarassing).

I agree, comments shouldn't be taken to heart. We are all entitled to our own opinions and btw you have a many mistakes in the info you've provided about koyel. Some i you'll pick out yourself if you read through but your cardinal mistake is getting the spelling of 'Riyaaz' wrong, you've got 'Rewaaz' there. C'mon, whats that all about?

Remember Rewaaz means tradition whereas Riyaaz means practise or sangeet 'sadhna'.

@bluepatentbelt I know most Bengalis say rewaaj instead of riyaaz, even great masters, because urdu is not their primary language! I would never consider it as a mistake.

True in bengali tradition, practice is popularly referred to as rewaaj...but as you said that is with most bengalis. In hindustani classical music, practice is known as riyaaz...and that applies to everyone, regardless of their primary language.

I am surprised that you went back all the way to comment on this, whereas you never said anything about this young lady, who is an inspiration to anyone who does rewaaj or riyaz. ;)

@bluepatentbelt I usually read most comments on the videos I watch, and noticed this comment. I'm myself a Hindustani music student and find Koyel one of the most talented younger Hindustani singers on youtube. Her musical expression is very mature.
