  • i don't know if you this but all vids on youtube are free...

  • could've explained better with the chorus

  • Horrible job at explaining the chorus

  • THERE'S AN EASIER WAY TO DO THE VERSES! In the left hand, when you get to the C chord, go down, not up. In the right hand, instead of going all over the place on the keyboard, stay in one place and play root G, 1st inversion of D (By the way, on "Molly is a singer in the band", switch to D7 by adding the C) , and then the 2nd inversion of C. YOUR LIFE WILL BE HAPPIER.

  • What type of keyboard do you have??? :)

  • very good video i likr your voice as well

  • am i the only one who heard no piano music? O_o i heard him talking but there was no sound from the piano.

  • @pumpkinghead15 It's most likely because this was recorded in stereo and you're trying to listen to it in mono.

  • 素敵な歌声♪

  • @kiyosukehimura

    Yes ;)

  • Llllllove this song and im trying to learn piano/keyboard n im sorry i just had to say it-its actually "Lala how the life goes on" xD great lesson though! Really helpful for begginers!

  • this song makes me happy =)

  • nice! Im gnna try it out

  • thank you man, thanks!!!!!

  • You should perform this song, I love your singing!!

  • @whiteillusion89 I agree

  • this is a great tutorial!

  • wrong key? good tutorial though

  • Thank you very much! This tutorial is very helpful :)

  • Thank you very much for the lesson! It is very clear and sounds just right!! :)

  • I remember my kindergarten student music teacher sang this to the class all the time with his guitar.

If it wasnt for Mr. Cristian then I would have never loved the beatles thus me never coming across this and learning it :)

  • What about the bridge you know "in a couple of years they have built a home sweet home"?

  • Do you have any sheet music for this?

  • You have a really good voice! Your tutorial was very helpful, thanks!

  • wrong key dude,.

  • good job :)

  • oh god, learn to appreciate people.

he sings to demonstrate how vocal and piano lines match.

    perfect tutorial dude.

  • Perfect tutorial! =] Nice and simple, just the way to teach it! 5 stars!

  • @SDelanster1593 - I'm going to add this video to the blog so that there is a downloadable handout as well. stay tuned :)

  • The Chorus is "obladi oblada, la la HOW the life goes on" not "la la la la life goes on"

  • @Beatlesfan91macca yep you're right.

  • @chrismarx85 I guess they thought you were giving us singing lessons.

  • @Beatlesfan91macca ya why would you sing if you dont know the words

  • @Beatlesfan91macca Correction. La La how THEIR life goes on.

  • @legostarwarsfreak35 haha double fal

  • @Beatlesfan91macca how do you figure that? i dont hea "how" in any of the version ive listened too

  • @SouthParkRocks9 - your ears are not bleeding whiner. boo.

  • You're a good singer, and since this is my favourite Beatles song, this is a very good tutorial. Thanks.

  • there's a part on the chorus, that i can't see because of the hand lol

  • it´s in Bb

  • Nice high note (singing) Very good and simple lesson.

  • this song reminds me to corky lol

  • Actually is in Bb

  • its in b flat...come on!

  • notes please

  • Good lesson. I am surely going to have to try this out. Has anybody seen the youtube vid of a guy rocking this song out on a Yamaha S08? He plays it so hard it looks like he is going to break something. I was just jonesin to see that vid and couldn't find it. Anyone know where I could find it?

  • хороший урок

  • i loveeee the beatles =) thank you for this lil lesson!

  • Thank you for this lesson. This is very interresting.

  • 2nd chord in the chorus....your first bass note is a B?

    I though maybe D to F#?

it just sounds a little sour, but it could be right.

    just checkin

  • if this is a challenge slow it down and "think" hahaha dude your funny

  • Well I got pretty far with the simple lh, could sing it a little and I think I figured out that "In a couple of years..." which sounds like C...G in this key. Of course when I added the harder bass, the train fell off the tracks. But good learning so far. Joe

  • Very good. I learned mine in B flat to F like the beatles played it, (instead of G to D) but your version is easier to sing to. Excellent job!

  • 5-10 mins later. lolol.

  • Did that work?

    or did it take longer?

  • It helps quite a lot. Thanks!

  • Also, I love the warm ups. I'm used to tackeling songs note by note as they're played, without being familiar with the playing style, or let alone a piano at all. This is great.

  • I can sing the original version alright, but I don't intend on doing any Beatles covers very soon and this is far better than other instructions for this song. Thanks for the Vid.

  • you kick so much ass that it's unreal

  • Thank you :)

I just played this song tonight for like 200 people... its a great song to get people clapping on and everybody wants to sing a long on the chorus :)

  • It starts on an F Major Chord.

and don't put this comment as thumbs down.

Listen to this and listen to the song.

this one is transposed up two half steps. but no one really notices because they don't care what the notes are. as long as it sounds just like the original.

  • Hi Stewie,

This is transposed down for a low male voice because the note "Brah" is quite high.

You are right, if this was a piano solo arrangement, or if it were for people with higher voices, it would be more authentic to do it in the original key.

  • Sounds like you're a little defensive?

If you take the time to point out what you don't like about other peoples work on the internet, you have to expect you'll get a few "thumbs down"

  • thanks!!! it is great!

  • Dude, you are the man! I've come across this video before and stuck it on my favorite list. I haven't gotten to learning this one yet but I will! It's one of my absolute favorite songs. I didn't know that made this lesson too. Rock On!

  • it's so.... simply!

  • ESTO ES PARA DEFICIENTES MENTALES...

  • thanks a lot!!! Great song and now i can play it!!!

  • this is wrong

  • Which parts?

Keep in mind its a piano arrangement and that the song originally had bass drums etc...

  • Nice!

Sir, may I ask you, if I wanto to learn to play piano, how can I learn the piano notes?

  • favorited and five stars this is a great lesson you are a great online teacher!

  • the first part (b4 the chorus) is a little confusing for the first chord, is it just, "chord" "g" "chord" "b" chord "d" or do you play the next note in the left hand chord on as you play the right hand chord? great video by the way

  • Thanks BarneyBros.

I'm just spelling out the names of the notes in the Gmajor Chord.

The second chord is Dmajor (notes: D F# A).

Let me know if you have any other questions!

  • thanks! i have learned this sog ( i think ) but i have one last question: how much time do we play each chord part? (like, do we hit the chord three time or two before going onto the next chord)

  • Barney Bros!

Thats what the video is for!

you should count along with the performance at 1:17 to figure out the specifics :)

most of the time its just left right left right.

let me know if you have any other questions!

  • Hi chrismarx85 Hey you play very well the piano congratulations :D but you can make a tutorial to how to play it ?

  • not sure if you're being sarcastic or what.

    but thanks?

this IS a tutorial. I show an example and then a brief demonstration of the example in that context.

The examples start of pretty eays and get progressively harder.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

  • cool thanks'can you do"in my life"?

  • I love the way you sing this... I think it is better than the original.

  • Thanks Christian,

Even so I still have a lot of practice to do!

  • Thanks so much man, i love this song and now i can show it off to my girlfriend, lol :D

I shall be checking out your site because this was excellent, and its so hard to find free or good piano transcriptions for good songs on the web.

    5 stars!!!

  • awesome....just awesome, thanks ;)

  • very simple and very good;) nice voice!

  • i really like it. can you show how to play Martha My Dear by the Beatles?

  • simple and clear
