  • Thats a British Airways 747 -400 , you shuld try Frankfurt Am Main in Germany , we get very low planes , and some of the biggest like the Lufthansa German Airlines Airbus A380 800

  • san antonio landings are actually lower ;)

  • f-f-f-foolin!

  • WOW! Bet that I can hit that plane with a rock ;D

  • whats the name of the song playing in your car !!!

  • sounds like my uncle brad :)

  • its only landing i can see planes landing wen driving beside PHL not that speacial

  • I live in NYC too lol. Never seen anything like it.

Actually lately, if you notice, planes seem to be higher...A few years ago, I could spot planes landing at low altitudes.

  • if they catch me shootin the plane a video in my country, they would punish me

  • OMG Def Leppard in the background...you are so busted...!

  • nothing like Kai Tak, but since that airport closed, nothing can really compare.

  • its landing thats why its low lol :L the amount of times i have to explain this to people lol

  • 0:18 sec. of my life wasted !

  • well u know... its only landing

  • Great song in the background

  • It's really amazing how low a plane flies when coming in for a landing. That must of been a really good pilot.

  • apperanly very low :)

  • Everybody shut up with the go here go there.

Everyone but the filmers can go to suck

My dick airport and see how low u go fagots

  • nice def leppard music

  • In Chicago O'Hare.. this is what you see every airplane do.. it is pretty normal lol

  • Fantastic!

  • Go to London Heathrow , as low as this one too , but the best is St. Marteen :D !

  • you can see on your way to kennedy airport too

  • @1budgies Those flyb over my school everyday to Kennedy and its loud and close.

  • good.

  • Is that Lincoln you are on ?

  • Go to Reagen National...you can watch them take off they go right over your head

  • Go on Rockaway Turnpike near JFK When They're using 22L for arrivals ... No way its worse than Kennedy haha

  • woowww

  • one word: AWESOME! you were driving and filming at the right moment!

  • yea its like that cause the beginning of the runway starts there, but you already knew that lol

  • how low can you go how low can you go how low can you go lolzz

  • You Haven't been yo London Heathrow :D

  • SHE"S GOING TO STALL! ZOMG! pretty cool (;

  • SLOW!!!!

    Incredibly slow approach speed

  • is that Lincoln Blvd?

  • cool!!!

  • ...fucking tourists. planes land by that In & Out every 5-10 minutes, it's nothing special... sometimes I'll be sitting at the light in my car and look up into the moonroof and see the plane above me... I live really close to where you shot that.

  • when driving by an airport always is odd to see a plane flying low looks freaky

  • aw cmon that is honestly not tht low... even toronto has lower approaches than tht

  • it isn't low it is slow

  • lols, just looks like its levitating

  • British Airways!

  • Def Leppard! Nice soundtrack for an awesome scene!

  • wow! is that a BA 747-400? :-)

  • Yes! (:

  • @Marmalade624 Second biggest passenger plane. A380 is the biggest( I dont know if teh A340 can hold more passengers then the 744)

  • yep it is it seems to be coming in at about 160 Mph or perhapes even less amazing clip tho

  • @Marmalade624 yep

  • @Marmalade624 yes it is! :)

  • i go there all the time

  • I like watching the plane's land when we're at Kalamaki in Zakynthos. We have been last year and this year (both the exact same week in July) and when the approach is over the main road, it's really quite good. A 737 (Air Berlin if I remember correctly) flew overhead on finals, and someone on a moped fell off into the side of the road. I don't think it was the vortex from the aircraft, I just think they were "plane" scared.

  • it's a hologram, like 9/11!

  • not kenedy provenance is london

  • Try driving along Aviation Blvd between Century Blvd and Imperial Hwy when the heavies pass overhead. They're even closer.

  • ive seen bigger than tat ive seen an A380 and a C5

  • it would be fun if the plane stalled right there XD

  • word and crushed the people in the car lmaooo

  • yeah XD

  • ive seen bigger and lower than that u shud check out st maarten its cool

  • how are they so amazed. i live in san diego (similar looking from the freeway)

  • They're driving to get on Sepulveda Blvd South Bound , and that's The LAX Runway Next to the In-N-Out I eat at all the Time. As a matter of fact I was on this same Street. 15 Min Ago.. :)

  • Looks like the plane is on its final approach.

  • I never liked the expression "final approach" ...

  • With good reason!.

  • Why NOT?

  • You do not know the meaning of "final"?

It basically means: after this, no more...

  • well you got it wrong, and the reason behind this is because you only define "final", and ignore "approach".

In Aviation things are different. Final Approach is the last leg on the approach landing. By then the pilot already receives clearance to land from ATC, and the air plane is too low to go around. That's why it's called "final approach".

  • I know. Its a joke.

  • wow really? i tought it was just flying over town for fun

  • its not low flying

    its coming in for landing

  • @phatcarz dork

  • not low at all compared to ST maarteen juliana airport planes fly over Moho beach super low check it out especially the KLM jet flying over the lil red jeep, type in 747 flying very low in St maarten

  • i mean low

  • u should try see how long the planes can go in st marteen

  • i guess this is how people who live in the middle of no where react when they see an airport.

  • No, not all airports have 747's land at them...that's why.

  • lol yep, i live rite nxt to one and i see this evry minute!

  • Absolutely awesome =]

  • try go to skiathos. then you'll see a better view than that.

  • wow

  • how'd you do that!?!!?!?!

  • Nothing wrong with this approach I have flown lower than this into more congested routes !

    Its all good practice...

  • AWESOMEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • woop woop pull up!

  • yeah... thats not low...

  • woop British Airways...

  • British Airways from London.. cool!

  • It looks so slow

  • this is normal approach ;)

  • they do that all the time in alaska...

  • That shot is from Sepulveda Blvd. Not the 405.

The Runway starts about 100 feet away which is totally normal. People go to In-N-Out Burger and plane watch and take pictures.

  • Are they suppose to be that low? That is really dangerous but so cool!!!!

I guess the things that one finds cool come with greater risk of disaster :)

  • Its normal to fly that low, if plane is final approach. Search st maarten landings, and then you can see really low landings whats them and you think that isn´t even low. There is much air beetween ground and plane.

  • yeah it's really nothing

Even Pearson airport in Toronto if you drive along Airport road it's just like that

  • there's also a gas station that u can stand see the planes fly low

I saw during a summer thunderstorm last year

  • ..well, theres no danger of planes flying that low (and if you call THAT low, check out some of the Kai Tak approaches..but yeah, you wouldnt wanna go into a stall or do a crash landing when youre that close to ppl on the ground...

  • I really don't think you'd want to stall or 'do a crash landing' in any event.

  • ...gotcha...wasnt really thinkin when i wrote that comment...hehe

  • lol - thanks for having a sense of humour about my remark. :-)

Incidentally, I operated in and out of Kai Tak in for eleven years (1987 to 1998) before it was closed, and on the runway 13 approach, the buildings always looked closer from the passenger cabin than they did from the cockpit.

Up on the flight deck, we could see the runway from five to ten miles out, and all the buildings were ahead of us and way below us, so our view was nowhere near as dramatic as that of the passengers'.

  • unbeleivable...there used to be a place at o;hare in chicago where you could stand and have 747's lterally 50 ft. above your head as they land

  • then do it yourself

  • It's hard to believe that plane is moving through the air at more then 170 knots!!!!!!!!

  • When the camera zooms in the plane looks like it is moving very slow.

But when the camera zooms out the plane is moving fast.

  • I see them everyday!

LA is beautiful especially! The Airport

  • want to see more? check my video out

  • sweet!

  • awesome!!

  • its like floating in the air..haha!!

  • I'd shit my pants.

  • how is it worse then Kennedy ?

  • And then you go to St. Maarten!

  • @flyguy281 but theres about 100000000 miles of ocean for the planes to steady its altitude with before coming in before a little tiny beach with a road by it ;)

  • british airways

  • That is right , I used to go to the Centinela Airport Clinic there ,,,,, and check out the South West terminal out of the window ,,,

  • Nice video...

Good old B.A - I see loads of 'em where I live.

Oh, and if you think that's good you should have seen the old Kai Tak Airport in Hong Kong...!!

    Thanks for posting.

  • BA airlines beats us, american, anyday

  • why is everything always a fucking competition with the united states? does everyone from a different country have to try to beat the shit out of us at everything?

  • Dude i live in the US.....just pointing out out the truth....none of them compare to the luxury of BA

  • And your point is?

  • I'd have to say that Cathay Pacific and Singapore probably rate ahead of BA for cabin service, but especially for luxury. And I say that as someone who works in the industry myself, and whose father flew for BOAC (the forerunner of BA) for 25 years.

But the BA cockpit crew are good - competent, knowledgeable, focused and disciplined.

  • Ummm...that could've been the airport right there, duh! 0_o

  • your retarded aren't you... they know the airports there, most people aren't use to seeing low airliners read the description before you make an ass of yourself next time

  • okay, you didn't have to call me a retard or an ass. and yes, i did read the description, it's not worse than Kennedy or La Guardia at all...it's better! treat people the way you want to be treated as I'm doing right now. btw, i'm not retarded, retarded means a person who still acts like a small child.

  • lol, sry, i when i see comments that dont make too much sense or are wrong, i try to make an insulting comment and usually its hilarious when people try to get back at you.. anyway, i saw ur into weather. we gettin snow :D

  • Okay, watch who are you talking to first, though. I hardly try to get back at people because God is watching me! Yes, I am into weather, aviation, trains, buses, and graphic design, I have alot of interests :D

  • You are coming on to Sepulveda to go south ,,,,, burger joint on your left ,

  • Nice British Airways 747!

  • Hey I flew British Airways and it was a wonderful airline, lax to heathrow and then on to Brajas Madrid.

  • Отлично!

  • niceeeeeeee

  • LIAR! That's not the 405. Looks like the road next to In-N-Out.

  • eh will its pretty ovios the plane was landing

  • you know tht tht place can be the airport

    stupid idiots

  • I love the "crunch" guitar in the background. The plane is heavy and so it requires heavy metal - 80's heavy metal !!

  • You are right. It's "Foolin'," by Def Lepard

  • Def Leppard, Nice!

  • thats lot really low, looks like a normal approach to me

  • this wasnt even a LOW LANding by any means

    stupid tourists

im sorry, but this is just a normal landing a big plane like the 747 that weighs almost a million gross weight has to land pretty early on the runway to slow down.

  • All planes have the same threshold (touchdown zone).

  • it is not called a threshold the threshold is the piano keys on a runway and its weaker than the rest of the runway or so ive heard and you are not supposed to land on the threshold

and also, it depends on runway length.

  • The threshold is not weaker than the rest of the runway, it's just an indication where to put your plane on the ground. What you're saying in your first post is that different sized planes use different TDZs. That's not the case.

  • you do not put your plane on the piano keys. thats called an early landing.

and well i was merely making the point of that it depends on the runway length. like at princess juliana intl boeing 747's must land right when the runway begins. At LAX or another big airport such as heathrow, etc. they have a bit more margin of error. ive seen big airbus a340's at mccarran intl touch down about a quarter down of the runway

it VARIES dude. ive seen 737s tuch down almost right at the begging, and

  • ive seen 737's land farther down the runway. ther is not a specified TDZ. its the pilot's decisoin when to touch down to make the smoothest possible landing

  • The ILS guides the planes to the TDZ. The threshold is the beginning of TDZ. The pilots do not have the choice to put the plane further down the runway, sometimes they flare a little to early or a little too much therefore touching down later on the runway.

  • its pilot error but i have seen big jumbo jets come down at what is percieved as late, but really, their overloaded and are trying to make a light landing. dude, dont contradict me. what boht of us are saying is right.

  • sorry, not overloaded. heavily loaded

  • no it doesnt, after a long haul flight like that all the fuel is pretty much gone

  • not really. from heathrow to LAX probably 35 or 40 percent fuel left. and you have to take into account the payload and the weight of the passengers, pilots, and flight attendants. it adds up to a lot. it is still heavy

  • Theres still plenty of runway left for it. A 747 is big but that doesnt mean its gonah have a hard time getting down before they reach the end of the runway, not on a big airport like LA. But if this had been the case, engineers would not have made the 747

  • I know that dude, but it still takes considerable runway space to slow down a boeing 747. it dosent take the whole runway, but better safe than sorry. you dont have to touch down right when the runway starts but you do have to touch down relatively soon

  • planes on approach using runway 16 into SYD also pass over a major road at similar altitudes

  • I'll join the chorus of those of us who are familiar with LAX, that is not a particularly low approach. Looks to me to be a normal landing from the east.

  • That part of Lincoln and Sepulveda runs almost right next to the north runways at LAX. That used to be part of my daily commute, incoming 747s would provide some welcome drama.

  • oi .I was actualy in that plane and i must say i wasnt to impressed with u filming me lol

  • how can you be 100% sure that you were in that plane?

  • ryt cool i believe you

  • It's were Lincoln connects onto Sepulveda Blvd. 747s need plenty of runway and that is a common approach on the North runway.
